Mei Lee/Hooks

Private Investigator: When Mei started developing the psychic powers she has, there were basically two things she could do with it: resist it, or embrace it. The problem is, when a lot of things just happen, resisting can be hard. Ultimately, Mei ended up becoming a private investigator, combining her ability to read people with her knack for reading places and situations. She's good, but she only takes as many cases as she has to in order to pay the bills -- things tend to stick in her head, and a lot of the time the job puts her in the path of things she would prefer not to have there.

Psychic: May tends to wear gloves, drink too much, and not get too close to people -- both emotionally and in physical proximity. The reason is that she tends to see too much, hear things that people haven't said, or pick up traumatic emotional events in the past of random objects. It's one of the things that makes her good at her job, and also tends to make her life hell.

Martial Arts: Mei's father teaches martial arts for a living, and Mei has been learning since she was a kid. She doesn't fight professionally, but she has an interest in styles other than what she's grown up with, and knows some of the other practicioners in town, as well as some of the professional fighters. It's more a hobby and a form of exercise than a passion, but she has been doing it a long time, so she's certainly not bad.
