Billie Mulgrew
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has."

  Overview

Appearance: A tall, slender woman standing at roughly 5'11", Billie Mulgrew is most often seen in high-femme formal business attire during the 9-5 workday. She has dirty blonde, shoulder-length wavy hair, soft blue eyes, a frequent warm smile - and a pair of dimples that are visible when she does so. In her off time, she can often be seen wearing t-shirts for the various political campaigns/movements she's volunteered to do work for, and is rarely seen without her brown canvas purse that is littered with enamel pins and political buttons.

Personality: Billie is a down-home country girl at heart with a breezy attitude and an easy smile, but she's also passionate and fiery when it comes to her beliefs - and is often incapable of letting a good cause pass by without fighting for it. Occasionally, though, Billie can come off as fake or shady in mixed company, because it's easier for her to hide behind platitudes and soundbites than it is to truly express what she believes or feels, but once you've managed to win her trust, you'll have a champion for life.

Public History

  • 2011: Graduated high school in southern Kentucky; dropped out of her first college semester to pursue another career opportunity.
  • 2012 - 2015: Had a semi-public transition while touring/gigging as a musician with her folk/country band.
  • 2016 onward: Began Volunteering for various left-wing third-party candidates, and eventually moved to Philadelphia to continue that work in a larger metropolitan area.

  RP Hooks

  • If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out - Billie had a pretty extensive stint singing and playing guitar in a band called Billie and the Holidays that toured in every state from Kentucky to Vermont. They had a hit single "Like a Holy Roller" that charted, and continued to get radio time even after the band broke up. If you listen to Country music, or folks-y rock stations, you've likely heard her sing.
  • Death to My Hometown - Since she moved to Philly from Kentucky, Billie has taken the deep dive into socialist and leftist political circles. If you frequent City Hall, or political rallies, you probably know her by sight at the very least.
  • High Class Catastrophe - A trail of misfortune follows in Billie's wake. Those with an eye for the odd and the supernatural might question the catastrophes that befall those who regularly get too close - and if you've had a particularly bad string of luck since meeting Billie, you might wonder why her name is at the back of your mind.

  Contacts

  • Anneliese Kiel: Recently the pair have been flirting and fooling around. Could there possibly be more there in the future? I guess that's a question for the future.
  • Alexa Friday: Former Girlfriend. Both political-focused career types. Sure, it was probably for the best that they broke up, but for now things are still awkward as hell...
  • Alain deVahl: Billie's Boss. Does organizational/networking type shit for Alain's charity. Y'know. Secretary stuff.
  • Devan Orsey: Billie reached out to Devan for help with controlling and understanding her abilities. She's placed a surprising amount of trust in him, and so far he seems to have rewarded that trust.

Soundtrack
"All You Fascists Bound To Lose", Woodie Guthrie
I'm gonna tell all you fascists, you may be surprised
People all over this world are getting organized
You're bound to lose
You fascists are bound to lose

People of every color marching side by side
Marching across these fields where a million fascists died
You're bound to lose
You fascists are bound to lose

"You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive", Nick Page and Ruby Friedman

In the deep, dark hills of eastern Kentucky
That's the place where I trace my bloodline
And it's there I read on a hillside gravestone
"You will never leave Harlan alive"

Where the sun comes up about ten in the morning
And the sun goes down about three in the day
And you fill your cup with whatever bitter brew your drinking
And you spend your life just thinking how to get away
