General Information

 Parent Clan/Covenant: Daeva

 Sobriquet: Idols

Source: Circle of the Crone, p. 165

Disciplines: Celerity, Majesty, Vigor and Dominate

Bloodline Gift: The Pact of Allure

The Ansam cultivate mortal followers like few others, and the Pact of Allure is one of the many reasons for this. The Pact is consummated when Idol anoints the subject with her blood, and the subject lets the Idol taste theirs. Until the next sunset, the subject may replace their Presence Attribute and Striking Looks with the Idol's, but gains a persistent Swooning Condition towards them. A Kindred character may never be the target of a Pact of Allure.

Bloodline Bane

For most Kindred, the Vinculum is a reliable security method. Not so, for the Ansam. The Blood Bond only takes hold while the Idol's Vitae is within a person's veins. For Mortals, this drops each stage of the bond by one every sunrise, until it has passed. For Ghouls and other Kindred, it remains until the Vitae itself is spent

Devotions

The Infinite Chalice (Majesty •, Vigor •)

This feared Devotion allows an Asnâm to build entire cults and feed them, or from them, regardless of distance. Whenever an Idol wishes to feed from afar to anything she possesses a blood bond with she must only will so.

 Cost: 1 willpower

Dice Pool: Presence + Occult + Majesty - her target's Resolve.

 Action: Instant

The Asnâm may spend one additional willpower point to transfer from or to two different sources she has bonded to her simultaneously, doubling the vitae flux.

 Failure: Nothing happens.

Success: Each success allows the vampire to transfer one vitae from the source, or to it.

This Devotion costs 1 Experience.

Of Will Undivided (Majesty ••, Dominate ••)

The Asnâm is beyond consuming the physical energy of her thrall's bodies and transcended into the study of transferring the strength of one's soul between bodies. Repeated uses of this Devotion may weak her thrall's identity.

This Devotion may cause the Conditions describing Soul Loss, but may not be used to heal them.

 Cost: 1 vitae

Dice Pool: Manipulation + Occult + Vigor - her target's Resolve.

 Action: Instant

 Failure: Nothing happens.

Success: Each success allows the vampire to transfer one willpower point from the source, or to it.

This Devotion costs 2 Experiences.

Unholy Avatar (Majesty •••, Dominate •••••)

The Asnâm commits the ultimate transgression of another and forces her servant's soul out of it's shell so it may house the vampire after her demise. After a number of nights the Idol vessel morphs and shifts to resemble the Asnâm herself.

Cost: 1 willpower dot, 5 vitae

Dice Pool: Presence + Occult + Dominate vs Resolve + Composure.

 Action: Instant

 Failure: Nothing happens.

Success: The Asnâm instantly loses one dot of Humanity and takes over a target that must be under the Pact of Allure, killing that character. She acquires the body and over the course of ten nights minus the vampire's Blood Potency the body will change to conform to the Ansâm's soul. Before this period all the rolls made by the Asnâm are made with a -5 penalty, but by the end of this metamorphosis the vampire will have changed her vessel enough to make use of all the Attributes and Skills she had before.

This Devotion costs 4 Experiences.

Haven of Flesh (Dominate •••••)

The Asnâm completely subsumes her servant's consciousness, piloting someone bound by Pact of Allure like a meat puppet. Her body falls into a state of torpor while she controls the mortal vessel. While in theory the same as Possession, Haven of Flesh adds a dangerous Asnâm wrinkle to the insidious Devotion: when in another body she may use her own Disciplines.

 Cost: 2 vitae 1 willpower

Dice Pool: Intelligence + Intimidation + Dominate – victim’s Resolve

 Action: Instant

This Devotion empowers Possession and works like it with a few key differences. Haven of Flesh consumes one willpower point from it's victim per night the vampire remains in control and allows the Asnâm use her Disciplines (but not Blood Sorcery) while within that body. She must pay the vitae cost of all Disciplines with the ghoul's vitae and may not use any Disciplines that would require the mortal to shed blood. She may, however, use The Infinite Chalice to feed her servant's body with more vitae as needed. Once the Devotion ends the servant gains the Broken Condition for a week, unless the Asnâm left the body after draining all it's willpower. In this case the Condition becomes lasting, and incurable. This is a Breaking Point for the Ghoul, and might be a Humanity breech by the Idol.

This Devotion costs 3 Experiences.
