General Information

 Parent Clan/Covenant: Nosferatu

 Sobriquet: Creeps, Shades, Morlocks

 Source: Nosferatu book. Page 107.

 Disciplines: Auspex, Nightmare, Obfuscate, Vigor

Bloodline Gift: Child of Darkness

The Lygos does not suffer any penalties due to darkness and can clearly see even in complete darkness. While in complete darkness Lygos gains +2 bonus to all actions as the darkness itself aids the vampire. This bonus may be further augmented by the use of their signature devotion “I See You.”

Bloodline Bane: Nyctophilia

The light really messes with a Lygos’ senses. They suffer a penalty to all Perception rolls equal to the number on the Light Chart below. Curiously, this penalty applies to all Perception rolls, even those that don’t involve sight. Light literally causes a kind of dissonance to the Lygos—for some, this manifests as a high piercing noise, for others an intense crawling of the skin (as if covered in biting ants).

Devotions

Arms of the Abyss (Nightmare ••, Vigor ••)

The Morlock’s spiritual connection to the darkness allows him to call upon its aid to restrain his foes. This power may be used against any target within the Morlock’s line of sight.

 Cost: 1 Vitae

Dice Pool: Resolve + Brawl + Vigor – (Subject’s Strength + Brawl) – Light (see below)

 Action: Instant

 Duration: One scene

If successful, the subject is considered grappled by an opponent with a pool equal to the Morlock’s Resolve + Vigor – Light. The Morlock may reflexively manipulate the Arms of the Abyss at will (and perform grapple actions each round). If the subject successfully escapes, the effect ends; otherwise, it lasts for the remainder of the scene.

The Arms of the Abyss has a number of health levels equal to the Lygos’ dots in Nightmare. It suffers no wound penalties. It has no defense and no armor. It may only be damage by attacks that would normally damage a creature in Twilight. The Arms of the Abyss are also damaged by light from any source, as per the Light chart below. This damage applies each round after the first (assuming the light persists).

This power works best in complete darkness. The roll is penalized by a number equal to the Light chart below.

This Devotion costs 2 Experiences.

I See You (Auspex •, Obfuscate •)

In the darkness, the Lygos is king. He strikes swift and true. A broken bottle cuts across a victim’s ribs as he staggers about. A hard shove from behind comes from nowhere and pushes his face into the hard wall of the drain embankment. A hand coils around his throat. And it’s over.

 Cost: 1 Vitae

Dice Pool: Resolve + Brawl + Vigor – (Subject’s Strength + Brawl) – Light (see below)

 Action: Instant

 Duration: One scene

With this Devotion, though, she can split successes gained between Defense, Initiative and Speed for the remainder of the scene provided she continues to fight in utter darkness. Obfuscate’s function goes toward concealing small movements and weapons, which goes toward making her more effective. Auspex tweaks her carnal and violent perceptions.

Any light will end the benefits from this devotion, though if the Lygos manages to extinguish the light, he or she regains the benefit.

This Devotion costs 2 Experiences.

Put Out the Light (Nightmare ••, Obfuscate ••, Vigor ••)

The Morlock’s spiritual connection to the darkness allows him to call upon its aid to suppress the ambient light in a given locale. This power only works in an enclosed space that is no greater than (5 x the Morlock’s Obfuscate score) yard in radius. Densely wooded areas and open-air structures with only one other area (ie, a dead end alley) will also work. This area is static, and does not move with the Lygos.

 Cost: Variable (see below)

 Action: Instant

 Duration: One scene

This power creates complete darkness in the enclosed space. The Morlock must spend one Vitae per the greatest source of light on the Light Chart. If the light source is coming from fire, the Morlock must spend an additional Vitae. Finally, this power cannot affect natural sunlight. If the Morlock cannot spend all of the Vitae needed in one turn, he may take subsequent turns to do so, leading to a gradual dimming of the ambient light.

This power assails the source of the light itself. Fires are extinguished and electronic lights malfunction. Once a source is removed, it will not function again until it is brought out fo the source. Flashlights shut off, mobile phones go blank, and lighters will refuse to spark again. Those within the room can attempt to create more light (for instance, by striking a new match, or switching to a new flashlight), but once total darkness has fallen on the area, the Lygos need only pay 1 vitae to remove any new sources of light. Lights cannot be preemptively disabled through the use of this power.

In the completely darkened area, the Morlock may reflexively spend 1 Vitae each round to reflexively crush and suffocate all non-Morlocks in the area, who suffer 2B damage. If a victim has to breathe, he or she will fall unconscious after receiving bashing equal to twice their stamina, and remain unconscious for (Six - Stamina) minutes. Unconscious victims continue to take bashing damage (and will not wake) if they remain in the area and the Lygos continues to will the darkness to harm them.

This Devotion costs 3 Experiences.

The Music of the Night (Nightmare ••, Obfuscate ••)

The Morlock’s spiritual connection to the darkness allows him to call upon its aid to distract his foes. This power may be used against any target within the Morlock’s line of sight.

 Cost: 1 Vitae

Dice Pool: Resolve + Subterfuge + Nightmare - Composure

 Action: Instant

 Duration: One scene

If successful, the subject is flooded with sights and sounds in the darkness, making it impossible to concentrate or think straight. The subject suffers a penalty to all Intelligence, Wits, Composure, and Resolve rolls equal to the Morlock’s Nightmare score. This penalty is reduced if there is available light, as per the Light Chart.

This Devotion costs 2 Experiences.
