Having made sure the the two newly Awakened were aware of that status, and having heard the news about Fox claiming them as her Apprentices (at least for the interim), Kotahitanga has gone to the Lodge to do research on the implications of what was said near the end of the meeting in their hospital room.

Fox has had... a very long couple of days. To put it mildly. A good few days, but a really tiring couple of days. So when Kotahitanga is studying? Fox is getting high. She wanders out of one of the side rooms, clean and smelling mildly of whatever Life-enhanced strain she has stashed around this place, dragging her backpack behind her on the polished floor, bare feet going pap pap pap quietly against the wood. She's wearing a loose tank-top style dress and humming to herself.

Kotahitanga glances up at the scent, then over at Fox. "Evening, Naika. How've you been?" Beat. "Do you have any of that to share?" As usual for the Very Tall woman, at least when she's not at her day job, she's dressed casually: blue jeans, teeshirt, hoodie.

"... busy... " Naika answers, humming to herself. "And tired." She alters her course over to Kotahitanga, then crouches at the feet of the Very Tall Woman, digging out a small leather bag, from which she produces her vaporizer. "I souped it up. It was kind of dirt weed, but it is not anymore. Really good head high. I needed to relax but also think." Beat. "Uhhhh. How are you?" Naika rolls up to her feet, handing the vaporizer over.

"Keeping busy," Kotahitanga answers, before taking a puff, holding it in for a moment before exhaling, passing the vaporizer back. "Getting some reading done. I'd never heard of an Awakening that was both Entangled and Restorative before." She glances at Fox. "They're doing ...well, not okay, given the circumstances, but as well as can be expected, right?"

Taking the vaporizer back, Naika stashes it in her backpack again and drags herself over to one of the couches, dropping herself onto it with a sort of lazy dramatics. "Yeah, I don't know about that. Mine was Restorative, but obviously not Entangled. It figures that the Tree would react big if that was ... what was going on, right?"

A big sigh, and Naika remembers to adjust the dress so that she's not accidentally flashing people if she moves. "Kinda, I think? I mean, they're both gonna have some adjustment to do. But their heads seem to be in the right place."

"Who didn't have adjustment to do, after they Awoke?" Kotahitanga asks wryly, moving to sit on a couch opposite Naika. "Good to know that their heads are in the right place, though. They're getting support from their existing community, right? I don't really know anyone involved in that side of things around here, apart from you and Esther."

Loose, lazy laughter from the Thyrsus on the couch, and she rolls onto her side. Is she really a person, or becoming a puddle? With a Shapeshifter, what's the difference? She curls her arm under their head. "Oh, I dunno, as far as the Jewish community here. It's kind of uh... " Naika stops and wiggles her fingers. "How do I put this."

"I love Judaism, but the Sages don't have rules for people like me, and until they get on my level, it's between me and God, who must love shapeshifting because I got made so fucking good at it, so, like, am I supposed to light the candles or not? Who fucking knows."

"Anyway. Yeah, they're doing okay."

"Fair enough," Kotahitanga admits. "Most of what I know about it is focused on what not to do, so." She shrugs slightly. "I heard about you taking them to Constantine, by the way. How'd xe react to you claiming two Apprentices at once?"

A vague, loose shrug. "About the same as I expected," Naika answers, stretching her legs out lazily. "Xe's very much 'you know what you're getting into, so, okay' and anyway, it's really up to the both of them if they want me as a long-term teacher or not."

"Good point." Kotahitanga nods. "I tend not to spend much time around xim, even if xe is my Path's councilor, but that does match xir reputation." She glances at Fox. "Actually, speaking of teaching. I've been meaning to ask for a while now, but there hasn't been a good opportunity, what which-" she gestures vaguely. "Would you be willing to help me learn more about Life?"

"Yeah. If they change their mind, they'll go talk to xim with whoever their new Master is. It just keeps them protected for now." Like a little brood hen sitting a nest full of ducklings, this one. "Oh!" And then she slowly sits up. "... oh, yeah, I can do that. Um." A long pause as she tries to focus her brain back on serious stuff rather than just babbling about her babies. "Yeah, of course!"

"Protecting them until they know what they're doing is a good plan." Kotahitanga pauses for a moment, squinting at Fox. "Should I wait until you're sober to have conversation, so you won't forget about it?"

She raises a hand and wiggles her fingers. "No, no. Even if I forget, I won't, uh... like if you ask me later, the question -- no, the answer will be the same. I'm happy to teach you about Life. I love doing it! It's my favorite. What level do you need to learn?"

"Just to Adept, for now, I think." Kotahitanga answers. "I'm only at Apprentice level in Life, though, so it may take a while."

Her little hands clap, and she squeezes her hands together thereafter, pulling them in against her chest. "Oh, that's some of my favorite stuff! And shapeshifting! You'll get to learn shapeshifting and ... many faces, and healing... " Naika sighs winsomely, flops back down on her side. "Yes, we can do that."

"The shapeshifting was a large part of why I wanted to ask," Kotahitanga admits, smiling at her Sibling. "If there's anything I can help you with in exchange, let me know?"

"Oh -- did you enjoy when you had a chance to be foxes with us? It's a truly wonderful thing, to be able to experience the world in a different way," Fox sighs again. There's little an Orphan of Proteus loves more than the practice of Life. "I'd like to know about what you learned when you were a fox! But um... not right now, but sometime in the near future, I want to learn some Prime. I've been very focused on Matter as well as Life, and I'm very much a specialist."

Kotahitanga nods. "I can definitely help you with that. Are you looking to learn anything in particular, about the practice of Prime?" Beat. "I did enjoy getting to be a fox with you and Harmony, yes. Experiencing the world from such a different perspective... not even my Awakening was that dramatic a change."

She stays sprawled on the couch. "Well, I don't know anything about it except in a sort of 'that's what it does' way, so we'd have to start at the very beginning. Of course the practises are the same from one Arcanum to the next, so that should help, but... " And then Fox smiles, her green-and-gold eyes squinting shut. "That makes me very happy. Harmony was a good student and is a lovely person, it was kind of her to do that for you."

"Oh, I know," Kotahitanga nods. "Starting at the very beginning works. I was more or less at that point when I first started actually learning Life, for more than just the instinctive understanding of it that'd come with my Awakening, so it'll be interesting to experience it from the other perspective, so to speak."

A little nod of Fox's head, and she yawns lazily, stretching on the couch. "Yeah! I think... um. Yes. I think that will be fun. I like to learn things." She flexes her toes, and pulls her backpack up on the couch, making a pillow out of it. "Are you doing okay otherwise?"

"Learning is good," Kotahitanga agrees, standing. "I'm doing good for everything else right now, but thank you for asking." Beat. "You know you're welcome to come crash at mine if you ever want to sleep in an actual bed, right? I have a spare room I keep made up and everything."

The Fox's eyes half-lid and then slowly open again. "Oh, no! I didn't know that. I sleep here a lot but I can come and sleep on an actual bed sometimes. Sometimes I sleep in the garden as a fox, too. That's really lovely and I like it a lot. But I would be glad to be a guest at your house!"

"Well, the offer's there, whether you ever take it up or not. I'll get out of your fur for now, though." Kotahitanga smirks slightly. "Sleep well, Fox."

"Mmmphhrrhgh," Fox answers, absently flapping her hand in a sleepy wave. Pretty much the moment the conversation is ended, she just conks right out on the couch. Instantly asleep.
