Log

Kayla Sockum: The Basement's been occupied for a while, about six hours in a row with chanting and Diamond's Nimbus flaring many times over, if anyone has been paying attention to the magic. "Oh fucking finally." she exclaim, a somewhat dull thud heard a moment after and the soft laughter echoes in the cold area of the Hallow.

Kay is laid out in the middle of the room, holding a sizable book over her chest, all leather handcrafted, though likely not by her. They're wearing a dark gray set of sweatpants and a black tanktop, magic tools all splayed around them. Ink in her bowl, on the tip of her wooden diamond, the necklace rest like a bookmark in the work in her arm and several other, unfamiliar item laid about.

Jeremiah Hamilton: While he hadn't been there for the whole six hours the constant thrum of the ritual magic being performed didn't go unmissed by Jeremiah when he did get home. As things wound down and the triumphant exclamation was followed by that quiet thud there was a quick knock at the door, along with a "safe to come in?" from the Mastigos

Kayla Sockum: "Yes, It's safe! I'm done with it." Kayla closes their eyes and there's a peaceful smile there for a moment. "Also, I might want to show off a bit." they explain, only opening her eyes when Jay reaches the bottom of the stairs. "If you feel like it."

A brief moment of quiet. "I think I might need a bit of help sitting up, my limbs weight like half a ton right now."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Like I'd deprive you of that." Jeremiah replied with a smirk, the faint scent of peppermint accompanying him as he came down the stairs. When he emerged Kay would see a cup of tea in his hands (and depending on what she was running at the moment the magic wrapped around said cup), although he found a safe place to set it down when she mentioned needing a hand up and extended his own to do just that. "I bet. Long runs like that usually wear me out too."

Kayla Sockum: Both hand raise toward Jay, the physical component of the request for help. "It was like six different work, all increasingly more difficult and I had to make it last forever. Plus I had to mitigate a bit. Not as much as when I made Lala but still." a soft yawn that Kay fails to stifle slightly distort her expression.

"How're you?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Six? Damn." He let out a low whistle, tugging her up and making sure she stayed upright before retrieving the cup of tea and offering it to her. "This might help; know my throat always gets rough after a lot of chanting."

"Doing good, all told. Work went well, as did the rest of the evening."

Kayla Sockum: Their smile grows for a moment and she accepts the mug of tea, clutching it firmly with her, even as they rest against the near by couch. She offers the book to Jeremiah, after a sip of the tea. "It's a bit of a read, but I made this special grimoire..."

The grimoire, if read, would contain a complex and soul explanation of an idea, a path to shape the soul in a complex mixture of arcane practices and compassion along site a few curious rituals.

Jeremiah Hamilton: The tea within was just the right temperature to drink, although now that she had it in hand Jeremiah let the spell that was keeping it that way until she was ready for it fade out. He took the book and gave it a once-over, the look of curiosity quickly shifting to one of pleasant surprise once he realized what it was. "...this is a daimonomikon. You figured it out?"

Kayla Sockum: "It's missing the last step..." She opens the book to an empty section of it. "Because I don't have the power to reach that high yet." And they shake their hand, hair bouncing about, as she tries to re-focus. "Yes, I figured it out. Everything I figured out is in there, everything in there, I can do." there is an excited squeak that follows it.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That is amazing." A wide grin spread across his face as he set the book down and leaned in to give Kay a huge hug. "I am so damn proud of you."

Kayla Sockum: Kay squeezes back into the hug, putting some work into it. The room fills with a bit of fine particles, easy to miss by most, but not invisible. "Thank you." she respond, voice shaking slightly. "I'm so relieved it worked out the way I wanted it to."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "You're welcome. I took the second step on mine recently, but forging your own soul from scratch is a massive achievement." The smile stayed firmly in place even as he let her go from the hug, looking her over. "I am too. You've been working towards this for a while now."

Kayla Sockum: "I realized it worked when me and Mary went to see Mark this week." Kay explains "I can feel people's soul with touch, I can feel through the cloud of spore that the mother blessed me with..." they gesture around "And I can grant plant-like blessing to people and also, shrink" a grin.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Ah...wondered what that was." He nodded as she motioned to the faint cloud about her, smirking as she mentioned that last bit in particular. "I still want to learn how to do that one some day, Matter issues be damned."

Kayla Sockum: "You probably could do something like it with Space. It make sense to me, from my point of view of I don't know any space." She pauses for a moment.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "In theory, yeah, but that would be more expanding the room within the confines of the space in question rather than affecting the people within it. Same idea but not quite as cool in my opinion." He replied with a small smile. "I can do that now, though, although I haven't tried it out yet."

Kayla Sockum: "How far away is teleportation?" Kay asks, not entirely joking, since she knows the answer is likely to be an immediate, positive one, eventually.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I'm able to do that now too, actually. Can pull that off as an adept, and portaling gets easier as well with the extra oomph from the higher mastery."

Kayla Sockum: "Oh nice, want to go grab something to eat in Paris then?" Kay is very obviously joking with a bad french accent.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah couldn't help but laugh, grinning widely as he shook his head. "We could, but I have a feel that after all that you probably want to take a shower first."

Kayla Sockum: "Smart idea." Kay laugh a little bit "I don't really want to move much right now though. Maybe in a bit."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Take all the time you need." He replied with a smile, scooting over close enough that she could lean against him if she wished. "You've earned it after today."

Kayla Sockum: "Thanks." their eyes grow shut for a moment and maybe she's too close to sleep for Paris tonight.
