Log

Sturm's up a little bit early in preparation for her next shift on the comms, and so she's slinking back into Downtime with a trio of coffee cups from some Starbucks-type place. She might be up early, but she's definitely not spending time waiting on the coffee pot when there's relaxation to be had.

She's wearing workout clothes - leggings, and a light tank top - and she sinks into the pillow pit. "Fuckkkkkk me, I am so tired." There's a sign, and she leans back against a cluster if pillows and closes her eyes.

Teagan's phone is in several pieces on the floor, looking like it bounced off the far wall of Downtime, and was possibly hit several times with Baby. The Mirrorskin looks fine, though. There's nothing wrong here. It's a perfectly smooth surface and a perfectly fine expression, and they reach for their coffee. "You need to actually get sleep," the Mirrorskin posits. "Thank you for the coffee, doll."

June comes in not long after Sturm, looking sleepy and still smelling not the best. In fact, a bit like sweaty gambeson. "I thought I heard someone pass through the house," she says sleepily. "I actually fell asleep on the floor in my room, after I hung my armor up. So much for actually making it to bed. It smells like coffee. Is that coffee?"

"It is coffee, in fact - it's your coffee, June." Sturm opens up her eyes, and fixes June with a weary smile - she pushes the little cardboard holder just a little bit closer to June. "... and I've slept a few hours, at least - I've got coffee for everything else." Beat. "Next time I see you passed out on the floor, would you like me to transfer you to a bed?"

She quirks an eyebrow at the ruined phone, looking between it and Teagan - then loops her arm around their shoulders - pulling them against her side.

"You need to sleep like... at least five hours in a go, doll. Or you'll collapse in the thick of it, and that's not what everyone needs from you." They take a swallow of their coffee, moodily, and stretch an arm out toward June, calling her into the snuggle. And then they get pulled against Sturm and make a low mumbling sound in their throat, leaning their head on Sturm's shoulder.

Half-asleepy June wanders over to where the coffee is, her bare feet shuffling across Downtime's floor. "You can transfer to me to a bed any time you want, Sturm" she mumbles as she picks the coffee cup up, then she moves to Teagan's side and flumps down to snuggle against them. "I should get some more sleep again in a little bit. In a proper, comfortable place."

"I got six hours, actually. 'Cause I'm an overachiever," Sturm grumbles - but her voice e is thick with sleepiness, not with grumpiness. She wraps her arm around June, too, because if June feels the way she smells, she must still be terribly hot. "I might snag another hour before I take over comms from Mearcstapa, but I wanted to be awake early enough to work out, and spend some time with those of you who aren't nocturnal."

Sturm's skin is nice and hella cold. Enjoy, stinky panda! "... and apparently I need to pick up a burner phone for someone before I'm officially on." Her tone is playful, but the look she gives Teagan can plainly be read as: "Hey, everything good?"

The Mirrorskin makes a vague gesture. "Oh, you know. Just the 'wife' of my oldest partner showing up out of the blue after years, without telling anyone, and me finding out about it by random text message that apparently she's still his 'wife'. Yeah, that's just great. I'm happy as fuck. Let me put on my happiest face so I can be happy for Glitch, who will surely be happy and expect us all to act like nothing's fucking wrong at all. And of course she's perfectly fucking nice, so I'm just being the worst." Teagan mashes their forehead into the round of Sturm's shoulder and lets out a sigh. "The SIM card is fine, I just need another fucking phone."

"Wait what?" June says, after she just finished snuggling close and enjoying the cool touch of Sturm's arm. "Why didn't I know any of this? Wait, did I know all of this? Or is this my shitty memory being shitty to me again?"

"Nah, June. She made a posting in the Hollow wanting to get into touch with me about the whole Robin mess, like, an hour ago at most - and I wouldn't have just cold-texted you about her if I'd known." She plants a kiss on top of Teagan's head, setting down her coffee outside the pit. "Sorry, T. I thought it was just an instance of me being new and not knowing shit." Beat. "... and you're not the worst. You're allowed to be pissed off even if she's nice. I mean, just look at all the perfectly nice people who get the fuck on my nerves."(edited)

Teagan takes in a deep breath and then lets it out slowly through their nose. "You had no way of knowing, because I had no idea that was ... even a thing... anymore." Teagan drags a hand down their face. "We talked, in Miami, about a wedding. For all of us. It never went anywhere, because... we left Miami shortly thereafter. But." A vague gesture with one hand. "You know." No, Teagan, people can't be in your fucking head, so thye don't know. They drink more of their coffee.

"No I mean... I didn't know Glitch had a wife?" June says with a laugh. "Good. I'm glad that's not something I just forgot because my brain is full of holes or something." She takes a drink of her coffee and rests her cheek on Sturm's cool arm.

"Well. That sounds like a conversation that oughta be had with Glitch, then? So shit doesn't fester?" Sturm grumbles. "When heads are cooler than they are now?" Beat. "But no. I don't know what you mean, T. Gonna need more to go on than that."

There's a gentle little nudge with her free hand.(edited)

"I have no idea if they're legally married or not. She hasn't been around for like... two and a half years." Teagan rubs their hand over their face wearily. "So it's not that you didn't know, it's that she hasn't been around for two and a half years. And it's not like Johnnie where we have, you know, an Oath to that person. Maybe Glitch does. I don't." The Mirrorskin huffs. "I don't know, Sturm. All I know is it's going to end up with me having to deal with having a 'wife' to my oldest partner around. Like that isn't a presumption upon our motley being secondary, when we've actually been around." Teagan rolls up to their feet. "I'm going to go on patrol. I need to smash the shit out of something so I can put on my smiling face and pretend I don't want to pull out all her fucking stitches."

"It's going to be awkward," June agrees with a sigh. "I'm sorry, boo. I wish I could do anything about any of it, but it doesn't seem like there is." She shifts so that Teagan get up when they try to get up. "Do you want someone to come with you, or do you want alone time?" she asks, still sitting where she was.

"Yeah, it's definitely a can of worms..." Sturm trails off, moving to let Teagan up, and retreating behind her coffee cup while she waits for the answer to whether or not Teagan wants company on their patrol.(edited)

Deep breath. "You two need to get some rest," Teagan answers. "I promise I won't go on patrol alone. Please, like, take a shower, snuggle, get some rest. Don't... " a vague wave. "This is the least important problem we have right now -- my fucking bad feelings. It's... like the least ... thing." They shuck off their sleep clothes, and there's a brief moment of naked before Teagan's got pants and a top on again. And then socks, boots, coat, Baby.

"Alright," June says as she sips more coffee. "Just take care. I Love you, boo. I'm sorry you're having bad feelings, and totally understand why you are. They're perfectly valid." She glances aside at Sturm. "How would you feel about me snuggling up to you now, instead?"

"I'm going to go out and rustle up a new phone for you in the mean time," Sturm's voice is low - and she responds to June's question by simply holding her arm's open in invitation. Then there's a yawn. "... after I take a nap, that is." Beat. "Please be well, stay safe, and I love you - and yeah. Well. What June said."

June shifts over and snuggles up against Sturm's side, where she lets out a happy little sigh and closes her eyes. "Nap time?" she asks.

"My, June. That's a delightful scent you're wearing," the corners of Sturm's mouth twist into a sly little half-smirk - but she wraps both arms around the red panda anyway, pulling June close. "... but yeah, nap time."

"I need to get some kind of token that lets me just dry off instantly, so taking showers isn't such an ordeal of dampness," June mumbles sleepily, and she reaches out as far as she can to put her coffee down where she might not spill it. But if she does, the pillow-pile demon will just eat it.
