Daniel Hawthorne: The evening was relatively young but Daniel was already at work, having laid claim to one of the booths at the diner with his laptop in front of him and a drawing tablet in hand. The Haunt was dressed neatly as was his wont, a dark blue scarf wrapped around his neck.

Renault Caron: Renault slips into the diner, glancing about as he fixes his hair. He's in his "casual" all black suit, and when he spots Daniel, he makes his way over. "Don't want to interrupt, mind if I sit here?"

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel looked up at Renault's arrival, shaking his head at the question asked. "Feel free."

Renault Caron: Renault takes a seat and grabs a menu. “It was a shame you had to leave so soon last time. How have you been?”

Daniel Hawthorne: "Had to handle something at the studio, unfortunately. Take it you got along well with Jack and their friend, then?"

"Well enough, all told. Working on a few designs for the end of the month. Yourself?"

Renault Caron: A grin flickers over his face. "We got along just fine. I've been good. Went on a date for the first time in a decade, so that was nice. No big plans for the night, thought I'd get out a little."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I can imagine...been about that long myself. Glad it went well." He said with a small smirk. "Same. Needed to get some work done but my sister has been making sure I get out of the house, so here I am."

Renault Caron: "Good to have people looking out for you. I'll try not to be too distracting, so you can still get some work done."

He gets the attention of a server, and orders a French omelet and coffee.

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel nodded to the server as they came by, asking for a coffee for himself before looking back to Renault. "Agreed. Been working on getting out more in general, but having that extra nudge now and again helps."

Renault Caron: "You the quiet artist type, or are people just not usually your thing?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "More that I'm not much of a thing for most people these days." He made a brief motion to the scarf around his neck before continuing. "Although some of the latter as well, I'll admit. I withdrew into myself quite a bit after the Embrace, although I've been working on amending that."

Renault Caron: "Ah, I see. It's unfortunate you had to go through that, but it's good to hear that you're pushing back on your walls, as it were. I forgot to ask, but what kind of art do you do? I've been criminally slow in getting better acquainted with our community, sorry if I'ved missed you."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Clothing design. I run a studio off of Rittenhouse Square." With that he took a moment to set the tablet down and turn the laptop so Renault could see the dress design in the works. "We have a few commissions lined up for festivities going on at the end of the month."

Renault Caron: "Oh, enchanting! I've always had a taste for fashion, but never had the will to try design. Glad it's going well for you. Do you do men's fashions as well?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "My great-grandmother was a seamstress and I was the only one of my siblings who showed an interest. Decided to stick with it and made a career out of it." He nodded with a small smile. "I do, yes."

Renault Caron: "I'll have to come by the studio some time, then. Having an outfit or two made by a member of the community seems lovely, and I'd be happy to support your business. Besides, I'm interested in what you might come up with for me." He flashes a warm smile.

Daniel Hawthorne: "I'll have to think on it." He replied with a smile, pulling a slim card case from his pocket and offering Renault a business card for the studio with a hand-written number on the back. "The number on the back is my cell; text works better for obvious reasons."

Renault Caron: He nods and slips the card into a pocket, grinning. "Of course."

His food arrives, and he sips his coffee. "Mmm, pretty good...What do you like to get up to, besides your work?" He asks, trying his omelet.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Reading, people watching, some online gaming here and there." After doctoring his coffee he took a sip and nodded with approval before looking back to Renault. "You?"

Renault Caron: "Study, reading, leading a Bible study, research. Music sometimes."

"Pretty quiet, honestly."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Not a bad thing, that." He nodded quietly. "Is the Bible study more in the mundane sense, or something for the court?"

Renault Caron: "Oh, no, that's mundane. I use my scholarly gifts to help the Flock have a more enlightened understanding of the faith. For the Court I solve unpleasant problems, though Philly is fairly quiet, in that regard."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Ah. Never been particularly religious myself, although I was raised Anglican." He took a sip of his coffee, offering another small nod. "Indeed. Nothing wrong with that, though...part of why I've stayed here."

Renault Caron: "I'm not in Philly to proselytize, don't worry, though I'd be happy to talk about anything like that, if you ever wish to." He sips his coffee, and sighs softly. "Sometimes I miss the knife-fight, as it were, but only because it was rewarding to win. Peace has been nice to have."

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel paused briefly at the 'knife-fight' comment before nodding, the moment passing as soon as it came. "Agreed. It's definitely less...antagonistic than Boston was."

Renault Caron: He takes in Daniel's response, and nods. "I also recognize I had a better experience in the games played in other cities than most. The Kindred world could use more Philly's. I hear Davenport isn't bad either. But. I have a lot of free time, which is nice, and I get to make friends, so. I plan to stay a while."

Daniel Hawthorne: "That it could. I was raised in the court in Boston and didn't have much exposure to other places outside of visitors there before coming here." Another small nod. "Not planning on leaving here any time soon either."

Renault Caron: "To Philly," he says with a toast of his coffee cup. "And good neighbors."

He takes a sip, humming appreciatively. "Are you from the Boston area, then? I'd ask how long, but I don't want to be rude."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Here here." Daniel lifted his cup in return, smirking at the question that followed. "I am, and not long in the grand scheme of things. I've only been in the Danse myself for under a decade, although I served for my former regnant for a few years before that."

Renault Caron: “Ah, a youth, then,” he chuckles. “I feel positively ancient now,” he adds with a grin. “But truly, I’m glad you are in a good place so young into your long night. Makes it easier to get established.”

Daniel Hawthorne: "Apologies." He said with a small smile. "As am I. I could have stayed in Boston after, but I'm glad that I didn't...doubt things would have gone particularly well if I had."

Renault Caron: "I'm glad you're here too, it's...quieter, seems to suit you better. And, where could I go for a killer new suit? I came here myself to...get away from it all. And here I have a worthwhile challenge to keep me occupied."

Daniel Hawthorne: "It has. Getting out from under the cloud that formed with my Embrace helped to me stop obsessing over what happened and move forward with what I have, and I've gained more than I could have imagined with the Academy here. What challenge are you working towards, if I can ask?"

Renault Caron: "I want to...establish the Sanctum here. Build it up, show the other Covenants how useful we can be, how we can be more than they may know us as." He makes a little gesture. "I want a Sanctum that makes the city better, and can respect and be respected despite differences of belief or philosophy."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Ah..." He nodded quietly. "Best of luck with that."

Renault Caron: "Thank you," he says with a nod. "I don't expect it to be quick, but..." He shrugs. "It's meaningful, I think." He finishes his coffee.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Doubt it would be, considering the city's past, but putting a good face forward will likely help."

Renault Caron: He makes a little "as you say" gesture. "How are things in your camp? No details, obviously, but the general state of things good? I know the Ordo are quite large here."

Daniel Hawthorne: "They're going well, all told. People are keeping themselves busy in their own ways, myself included."

Renault Caron: He nods. "Sounds about normal, in the good kind of way." He thinks for a moment. "How would you feel about being looped in if people were going out? Just an invite so can get out more if you want to, sort of thing?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "I'd like that, actually."

Renault Caron: He pulls out his phone and fiddles. "Get me your deets here, then. And you can hit me up if you have a sticky situation you need a hand with, or want to chat." He hands his phone over.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Sounds good." Daniel took the offered phone and punched in his information before handing it back. "Let me know when you'd like to come by the studio as well."

Renault Caron: “Of course,” he says with a smile. “Think I’m gonna go for the night, actually. It was nice talking to you.”

Daniel Hawthorne: "You as well. Have a good evening."

Renault Caron: “May the Night keep you,” he says before standing to pay and leave.
