Maddy's Wafflehouse

Log

Kayla Sockum: She returns once again, into Maddy's just because she happened to have another craving for Ethiopian food and she has a hard time to pass it up. Kayla walks in, wearing a Sky Blue dress that's a little short for her and carrying a messenger bag this time around. She has magic active this time around however, she select a spot in a booth and immediately orders, she looks through her phone too.

Nevermore Usher: It's later. The waffles were... good. Really good. Good enough that Nevy's back for dinner. They glance around, see Kay, and give a wave - though they seem a touch uncertain, perhaps.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Not long after Nevy's arrival Jeremiah made his way through the city-side portal, dressed up for a change in black dress slacks, a long-sleeved grey dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up neatly to the elbows and a black vest to match. He gave Kay a nod and a smile as he spotted his cadremate, which was followed by a double-take and a look of pleasant surprise at Nevy's presence. "Good evening, you two..."

Kayla Sockum: Both of the newcomer into Maddy's would definitely notice that the dress she's wearing is quite litterally something they've seen on Mary litterally earlier in the day. She seems pleasantly surprised to see Nevy and Sirius again "Hey, Join me." It seems to be adressed to the two other patron. "If you want, you're welcome at my table Nevermore, I promise you that."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy nods and approaches. "Given how that other woman was talking..." They shrug.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah looked like he was ready to say something but paused as he noticed Kay's sartorial choices, his head tilting a touch before the lighbulb went off and he chuckled. Nevy's comment took the shine off of that mirth, though, and he looked their way as he claimed a seat at the booth. "Which woman?"

Kayla Sockum: "Nevermore met River and I suspect she decided to play with words evasively around certain concepts and it was ..." She takes a soft sigh for a moment, searching for an appropriate choice of words. "...a mercurial yet not uncommon display of her skill with words, similar to what she did at the feast when she called some of the stuff boring." she smiles a little and maybe she's blushing for a moment

Nevermore Usher: Nevy raises an eyebrow. "She said she thinks she's better than me. That's not exactly 'skill with words,' it's just being a bitch."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Cue a heavy sigh and a massaging of the bridge of the nose from Jeremiah. "That woman, I swear..."

Kayla Sockum: "I mean she danced around that for the rest of the meal that's the 'skill' part." Kay rests her hand into her hands, she looks to Jay.

Nevermore Usher: "Yeah, well. I think I'd rather not dance that dance." They shake their head. "Anyway."

Adam Kovacs: Adam chooses this moment to make his usual boisterous entrance. Though when he sees the subdued atmosphere he moves a bit more quietly. "Nevermore! Hows it going?! How'd you find this place? Did I completely miss the fact that you're a supe?" Quiet is a relative term.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "She likes to push buttons to 'make people think', and doesn't seem to care how they feel about it." Jeremiah shook his head quietly, giving Nevy an apologetic look. "Sorry you had to deal with that."

He looked towards Adam as his entrance, giving the Mystgogue a nod. "Evening."

Kayla Sockum: "Hey!" Kayla offers a bright smile toward Adam, greeting him with a short little wave, then gives a look toward Nevermore. "Yeah I understand that, what are you having this time? Another round of waffles?"

Nevermore Usher: Nevy shakes their head. "Well, I'm thinking she's a bitch." They blink at Adam. "Oh - yeah. a medium. you?" To Kayla, they shrug. "I kind of want to try something else. Maybe the Ethiopian you mentioned?"

Adam Kovacs: "Mage." Adam says as he takes a seat with the group. "And Ethiopian is great, totally reccommend it." Despite what he says, the big man orders a large plate of steak and waffles.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It is rather good, had it a few nights ago." He too was going for one of the house standards, however, putting in an order for the chocolate chip and bacon waffle along with a cup of coffee to go with it. "Who'd you end up talking with to get the keys here, out of curiosity?" He asked to Nevy.

Kayla Sockum: "The Ethiopian stuff is probably here for a bit still, she goes by rotation as I recall." she explains and smiles "It's a little spicy, so be wary about that if you're not a fan of spices." Kay looks to Jay and then to Adam "Pleasure to meet you Adam!"

Nevermore Usher: "Maddy," Nevy says, smiling. "And Charleville, too." They note what Kay said. "On a scale of 'Great Britain' to 'Indian subcontinent,' how spicy?"

Adam Kovacs: Adam grins at Kay. "Nice to meet you too! And Ethiopian is pretty damn spicy. I'd put it around high Indian sub-continent. Especially if you get the wat."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Ah...nice." He replied with a smile. "Haven't had a chance to talk with Charleville much, but Maddy's good people."

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah typically but this is breakfast food she got so they hung back on the spice a little bit. There's a sweetness to the whole thing" Kay crosses her legs and spends a little moment adjusting the blue dress. "Our Neighbor too."

Nevermore Usher: "Getting the what?" Nevy says, furrowing their brow.

Adam Kovacs: "No no, the wat." Adam says, starting an Abbott and Costello bit. "It's a dish, usually has meat in it. Spicy as hell unless they use Tumeric instead of berebere."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Will keep that in mind. Can usually handle heat pretty well; decade in California'll do that to you." He smirked at that, sitting back in his spot on the booth.

Kayla Sockum: Kayla just looks toward Adam with a big smile. "Yep, I gotta nail down some time with Maddy soon, I need to be able to make some injera too." she looks to Jay with a little sheepish grin there. "Anyway, I recommend the breakfast, Nevy."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy nods slowly. "I can take a little spice, but not nuclear. What's the stuff you said to be careful about, again?"

Adam Kovacs: "Wat." Adam says with a grin. "But anyway, Charleville gave you the rundown? He have anything bad to say about the Mysterium?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Probably not a bad idea, considering that working with her is the only way Heather's going to let you back into the kitchen." He replied to Kay with a chuckle and a little spark of mischief in his eye. "Love that dress on you, by the way..." Needle needle needle the cadremate...

Kayla Sockum: "Wat." Kayla definitely blushes on this one. "Thank you, Jay." she fans herself and eat her own food she already ordered. "Probably, I mean, there are other ways I could cook again at the apartment, but that's the one I want to use."

Nevermore Usher: "Um..." Nevy hesitates. "I don't know. What's a Mysterium?"

Adam Kovacs: "Group in mage society." Adam cocks his head. "What exactly did Charlie tell you? He at least warned you about Guardians of the Veil, right?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Quite welcome." He smirked, then looked back towards Nevy and Adam as their part of the conversation unfolded. "He may not have gone into that much detail, admittedly..."

Kayla Sockum: Kayla shrug her shoulder and leands a little bit against Jay's side, smiling to him, hugging him one armed.

Nevermore Usher: They hesitate. "The only groups he mentioned by name were the Free Council and the Seers of the Throne, that I can remember."

Adam Kovacs: "Oh. Well, that's awkward." Adam scratches his nose. "D'you want the political rundown, or d'you wanna eat waffles?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah returned the hug, giving Adam a quiet look after Nevy's hesitance elicited that response. "More than willing to fill you in as much as you'd like. Creche master and all." The last was said with a small smirk to the medium, a nod to their previous conversation.

Kayla Sockum: "Either political rundown or food is fine." Kay smiles and keeps picking at her food slowly. "We're apparently all willing to give you the information."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy smiles. "This might be some of the 'More stuff' Maddy said we'd be talking about soon, too. There's a lot to learn."

They shrug one shoulder. "I'm not going to say "Oh, no, don't tell me things,' but if you'd rather focus on your food I don't want to interrupt you."

Adam Kovacs: "Well, I'm always down for recruiting." Adam says with a big grin. "So the Mysterium is a group dedicated to the recovery and preservation of Atlantean knowledge. We usually do the recovery by going to ancient ruins and searching them, or stealing them from... well, usually Seers or Sleepers who dont know what they have."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "No worries, can multi-task with the best of them." He was still waiting on his order besides, although he did take a moment to add a notable amount of sugar to his coffee before he continued. "I've told you about some of the work I do personally, and the Silver Ladder - the group that I'm with - does the same on a larger scale, helping humanity to reach its true potential by breaking though the Lie that has been woven around us all."

Kayla Sockum: Kayla looks at Adams for a moment and runs her hands down her face and stares for just a moment, through her fingers. Then toward Nevermore and still leaning onto Jay. "The Mysterium is part of the Orders that makes up the consilium, Along with the Silver Ladder, Guardians of the Veil and Adamantine Arrow." Kay then spend a moment. "Then, beside that is the Free Council which what Charleville explained to you, who have an Assembly and that locally, have joined with a Local group called the Children of the Tree." She points to herself. "I'm personally a Children of the Tree, both part of the Assembly and the Consilium." She sits ups after that, eating her last bits of food.

Nevermore Usher: Nevy eyes Adam. "Don't people object when you take their stuff? And... keep in mind. I'm one of those 'sleepers,' too, aren't I?"

Adam Kovacs: "If you're here, no not really you aren't. You're more of a Sleepwalker" Adam shrugs. "And yeah, people object when they find out. But Seers are agents of the Lie so fuck them, and if you leave a perfect reproduction of the Artifact behind the Sleepers have no way of knowing the differnce. And we're nicer about the whole thing than the Guardians of the. Veil and the Seers are."

He raises an eyebrow at Kay's facepalm. "What, I'm not gonna lie about what methods we use to acquire assets. That would be dishonest recruiting."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jay went quiet for a long moment, a disapproving look on the thearch's face to match Kay's facepalm. "To my knowledge that sort of tactic is a last resort, and only used if the artifact in question is a danger to the people holding it in question. It's usually not a 'grab first and apologize never' sort of situation."

Kayla Sockum: Kayla looks to Adam and nods. "I understand what you're trying to achieve, Adam. I do." she take a short breath "The reason for my facepalm, and that was rude, I apologize for that, is that I am reading the situation from a much different angle than you are right now and the approach you used for it isn't one I expect to work or achieve your goals at all." she seems done with her empty plate. "You seem to be working from an assumption that Nevy is currently aware of every details of our society and mythos." Kay nods "And I believe it's not the case, so the summarization of what the Mysterium does isn't looking good from that point of view." her attention shifts to Nevy and takes a deep breath "When we have our meeting, I could explain a lot of the things that were skipped over if you want that."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy nods. “I’m... not gonna lie. She’s right - right now you sound really Indiana Jones, and... not really in a flattering way?”

Adam Kovacs: "See, when I hear that the Syndic gave the rundown, I figured that meant the RUNDOWN." Adam shakes his head. "But, yeah, seeing the problem. Jeremiah is right, usually we try to buy the stuff we're after first. If that's not possible because someone's life and or soul will be in danger, we steal the thing. And what we as a group are after is the remnants of Atlantis, which existed by the way but way before history, or things from the realms that house the source of magic, not culturally significant artifacts from non supernatural civilizations. I mean, we get mortal artifacts sometimes, but usually thats because people offer them to us for safekeeping. But the Indiana Jones reference is right, we try to keep the Ark of the Covenant out of the hands of the Nazis."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah nodded quietly, seemingly mollified for the moment as he took a sip of his coffee. "The safety of the people around it is as important as the item itself, if not more so. Least as I see it, anyway."

Kayla Sockum: Kayla nods and leans onto the table. "People witnessing obvious magic is dangerous for them in a direct way. If I went down in the middle of Indepedence Mall and made myself a dress made out of shadow, I could severely impact people's mind and soul and potentially create a situation where they could be injured. Same thing with magical objects that relate to our abilities, sometimes it's even worse than just casting a spell."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy nods slowly. "Okay. So... the Mysterium, the Silver Ladder... Charleville did go over what the Free Council is about. What about the Guardians of the Veil? And the, um, Children of the Tree?"

Adam Kovacs: Adam makes a small face at the mention of Guardians. "In diplomatic terms, the Guardians of the Veil are the secret police of our society. They keep an eye out for enemies that try to infiltrate us and eliminate them. They also try to preserve Awakened Knowledge, and guide Sleepers to the Truth of the world. That said, I hate their methods, their actions, and their guts. More than one has tried to kill me." He snorts angrily. And the Children of the Tree are best explained by the Children of the Tree.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I would say more Internal Affairs than secret police, personally. To each their own, however." He deigned to comment about Adam's own encounters with the order, also letting Kay field the question about the Children.

Hearth Williams: Speak of the devil and he'll appear. Or she in this case. The least threatening member of the local Guardians appeared! dressed in pj pants covered in a Van Gogh Almond Blossom print and a pink fuzzy sweater. She slid into a seat next to Jeremiah without as much of a by-your-leave, and sighed happily. "Coffee. I need coffee. What time is it?"

Kayla Sockum: Kay is totally wearing a Sky Blue dress that was seen worn by Mary earlier in the day and she greets Hearth as she comes in with a bright smile. "Children of the Tree are a very local group of Magi that act like a family, at its core is composed of many Lenape people, but also other culture around the world that faced similar challenges in the history of the world and we work with the Assembly and the Consilium." She clear her throat. "We mostly work on making sure mistakes aren't repeated and helping solve the challenges presented to our times."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy blinks at the newcomer, and side-eyes at Adam as he leaves. "Um... how much should I read into that 'they tried to kill him' bit on his part, and how much on theirs?" They consider Kay and nod thoughtfully. "Are they the Jed.... um... the warrior monk people Auntie Dandy works with?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah smiled warmly at Hearth on her arrival, looking like he came here straight from a performance judging by the dress slacks, shirt and vest he was sporting. "Hey there. We're running Nevermore here through the local Orders; they had the initial Talk with Maddy and Charleville."

"That I...couldn't say. With how he was firing off I can see certain sets of eyes landing on him, though." He shook his head, glancing towards where Adam had headed off to.

Hearth Williams: "Ooh fun!" Hearth said, then hopped up to order coffee before sitting back down. "Where are we at in the recitation? Has anyone told the allegory of the ants and cupcakes yet?"

Kayla Sockum: "Adam gave the rundown of the Mysterium, I gave a run down of the Children, Jay went a bit with the mysterium." She looks to Nevermore. "Mary? The girl who's dress I'm wearing is an Arrow, they're here to guard, protect and defend the other orders so they can do their job safely, It's... a little too diminutive to call them a military." She roll her shoulders. "I am not sure what you mean by that allegory, but I'm sure Nevy would like it." a shrug. "So I think Hearth could be the one to explain her own order."

Nevermore Usher: They smile. "An Arrow?" They chuckle. "It fits Auntie Dandy. And I'm always up for a good allegory."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Dandelion works with the Arrow as well, and has for quite a while." Jeremiah added, taking a sip of his coffee. "They handle more outward threats, while the Veil handles internal ones."

Hearth Williams: "So there's a cupcake, sitting in a field after a picnic. It's a beautiful cupcake but there are also ants in the field. Wait. No, I'm still working on that allegory and I haven't had coffee yet."She waved her hand. "So there's this fire burning on a raft in the ocean. The fire's great! The fire's beautiful. All the people on the raft love the fire because it lets them cook their fish and survive. However, fires on rafts are dangerous. The arrows, they work to guard the fire. The shelter it when it rains. The Mysterium seeks to understand the fire. They feed it different things, catch things from the sea to try to burn as fuel. The Silver Ladder works to keep the people on the raft organized and from tipping the fire and themselves into the depths of the ocean. But the Guardians... we know that even though the fire is good, too much fuel and it will burn up the people and the raft. If it's sheltered too much, it can't get any oxygen. If it's poked and prodded and a wet fish is plopped on top, it's going to go out." Her expression turned sad. "The world is a broken place, and we are not perfect enlightened beings. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and magic can provide that. Knowledge is beautiful and must be cultivated carefully but building so large a blaze that it burns up the raft and everyone on it will do no one any good and in the end the only left will be ashes floating in the water."

"When I was a kid, I came to the attention of some mages as having the potential to awaken. I didn't realize but they essentially stalked me through my life. Things would happen, little nudges that were meant to spark my soul and teach me how to strike that flint and steal together. It worked, in the end. Obviously. But what I lost in the process? I would give anything to go back. I would give anything to have had the Guardians there to stop the people who fucked with my life before they'd had the chance."

Kayla Sockum: "The Assembly of the Unnamed Nation, the Free Council and the Children would be a different raft who runs differently on different principles and would very much like if the fire of the other raft wouldn't damage theirs and so they cooperate." Kay leans forward and smiles to Nevermore. "Me, Heather, Jay and Mary and currently Alexis are in a Cadre called The Soulwardens." she reaches across whatever she needs to touch Hearth's shoulder in a comforting manner. "We seek to understand the soul of people and things around them, guide them toward their potential. If that leads to them becoming one of us, we welcome it. If it doesn't we still helped someone along. Heather is with us to make sure we don't push our luck too far." A funny side glance "And to feed us."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy nods slowly once more. "I have to admit, it sounds like a situation ripe for tragedy, in the ancient Greek style. Absolute power, and so on."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah frowned at Hearth's recitation of her tale, sliding an arm around her for a brief hug. "It can be. That's part of what I talked with you on that day with Alexis, and how tightly I hold to the sanctity of free will. I do my best to show others the way without forcing them down the path when they're not ready for it, both because it's not my place to do so and because it's a poor use of what I've been given."

Hearth Williams: "Every soul- whether Awakened, Sleeper, or Sleepwalking is precious," Heather said gently. "I just want to protect everyone. I can't do it with a sword or firepower like the Arrows do, not all threats are physical ones. But I can be a teacher and a guide. Soldiers get all the glory but high school teachers make the biggest difference, right?"

Kayla Sockum: Kay rest against Jay's side again and smile. "It can be tragic. It often is when things like Fate and destiny can be tangible things." She takes a moment to close her eyes. "Another word you'll probably hear thrown around a lot is Wisdom, the Wise and such." She nods "Wisdom is an important trait to have, there's a lot of philosophical questions we can ask about our powers." she shrug "I'd distill it to 'Don't be a dick' with your magic, but it goes way beyond that. Even someone well intentioned can cause a lot of damage if they're not considering the wise approach and it can lead to what often seems like catch 22 moments."

Nevermore Usher: Nevy chuckles at Heather. "Charleville said something similar about artists. That soldiers and spies and the like aren't as powerful as us because ideas are stronger than swords." They look at Kay. "Yeah, that makes sense. There are enough stories out there about the damage that can come from power and impetuosity. Oedipus, Othello, the oeuvre of the Coen Brothers..."

Mary Toombs: Padding in, Mary looks around the diner, dressed in jeans and a Baby Yoda t-shirt. Spotting cadre and Nevy she beams, beelining their way and singing out. "Gooood morning!"

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah smiled wide at Nevy's comment, nodding in firm agreement. "Exactly that. The right idea in the right place can be the lever that moves the entire world in a grand new direction."

Hearth Williams: Hearth's expression lit up when Mary arrived, and her coffee order came right after her. "Aaah heavenly ambrosia." She sounded positively blissful. "Even within the bounds of acting 'wisely-'" Hearth even have it finger quotes, "there's so much potential. It's beautiful and there's room for fun too. It's not all about great works and battles with evil. It's the small things in life. That lever that can move your soul is usually smaller than you might think."

Kayla Sockum: Kay smiles brightly when Mary arrives, leaning forward and waving to her with a bit of an innocent smile there, her eyes dipping down to the dress that's a bit short for herself. "Good morning, Mary." she then gives Nevermore a nod

Nevermore Usher: Nevy glances at their watch and cusses. "I'm sorry to cut this short, but... I really need to get going. To be continued?"

Mary Toombs: She beams at her cadre, then pauses, gaze snagging on Kay. Specifically, what she's wearing. "So that's where that went.." Her lips curve in a wide grin as she orders a coffee and finds a seat with the group where she can. "Sorry to be missing you Nevy, but see you again soon I'm hoping." The talk causes a cant of her head. "Everything you learn and do can be used to teach yourself." She muses.

Hearth Williams: "I'll walk out with you," she told Nevy cheerfully, then stood and gave Mary a hug before grabbing her big coffee. "I'm sorry to come and go but I really did just stop for the coffee and got caught by the conversation! I have work to get done, and no one bothers me when it's the middle of the night."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Of course. Was good talking with you again, and you know how to get a hold of me." Jeremiah raised his coffee to Nevy in a salute as they readied themselves to head out. "Have a good one."

Kayla Sockum: "Hey, just before you go Heather, I'm not sure how Subtle we were about it but, me and Mary are a thing now." she leans against the table there and looks toward her. "It's kind of new too." she waves at her. "Have fun working on it!" (everyone leaving, take a beat for us sharing that by the way)

Mary Toombs: "See you both later! Oh, and by the way Hearth me and.." Beaten to it. She turns to mock sigh at Kay. "First you steal my dress. Then you one up me." A sad shake of her head. "But yes, take care Hearth." She turns to smile at Kay and Jay. "How's you both getting on? Sounds like it was a good conversation."

Hearth Williams: Hearth grinned at the pair. "I did rather pick up on that, yes. It's about time. Congratulations."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I had a feeling at the lodge, but the dress confirmed it." Jeremiah replied with a chuckle, taking a sip of his coffee. "Going pretty well. Saw a good show this evening, then the conversation with Nevermore here. They seem to be picking up on everything very well and asking the right questions besides."

Kayla Sockum: She gives a heartshape toward all of the people there and reach across the table to squeeze Mary's hand. "I'll make it up to you." she says with a little wink. "A lengthy one." She grins. (brb like 5 minutes, pose around me if needed)

Mary Toombs: Receiving her coffee Mary leans against Kay, taking a light sip and squeezing her hand back. "I think Nevy's pretty good people." She comments. "I'm not sure if Awakening's something they'd seek, but I do wonder what the chances are.. if you know the possibility of it, but haven't achieved it." A thoughtful bite of her lip. That last comment from Kay causes a slight shade of pink to enter her cheeks and she nudges her lightly. "I won't be arguing. And, oh! Should mention as well Jay. Talked to the local spirits around the Sanctum, should be able to tap them for information if need be."

Jeremiah Hamilton: He couldn't help but smirk at Kay's comment, chuckling at the light blush. "Hard to say. I'd like to show them the first step on the Path at some point, if they would be up for it. Want to let them get settled with all of this first before offering, though."

"Oh?" His eyebrow arched a touch before he gave a little nod. "Good to know."

Kayla Sockum: Kay seems happy there and rest her head onto her shoulder. "I don't think they'd accept that right this instant now." She says and shrug. "For now, I think the best thing to do is give them what information is needed and see what it leads to, maybe they'll change their mind."

Mary Toombs: A hand runs through Kay's hair, her other arm moved to rest across Jay's shoulders in a light hug. "Wanting to take those steps is key, I think. Everyone fights for Awakening in their own way, knowing they're fighting for it is sure to give a big advantage."

She smiles at Jay. "Spirits never do anything for free, but we've got the Hallow, and the ability to transform mana to essence, which is the food source they need. Also, when I've the understanding for it, I do plan to make some fetishes." A wry smile. "Go on, get your giggles out now. Kay already has."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That's my thought as well. No need to rush it at the moment." He nodded, leaning into the hug when it was given. The 'fetishes' bit did get a little spark of mischief going in his eye but he behaved himself...to a point. "That sounds like something between you and Kay, no?" Siiiiiiip of the coffee.

Kayla Sockum: Kay smiles very softly and then to Jay. "I don't know if there could be something similar done with Ghosts." she asks. "Not sure it'd be super good for them though."

Mary Toombs: She ducks her head with a faint laugh. "It's an item a spirit is bound within. Hopefully some of them will agree to it for safety and regular meals." A thoughtful look at the talk of ghosts. "That's your expertise hun." She muses. "They can be eyes of a different sort, maybe?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I figured. Had to make the joke, though." He smiled, nodding as they continued. "That's both your departments. I can do some dealings with goetia but nothing that impressive yet."

Kayla Sockum: "I'm still working on a possible ghost I could make for protection on the sanctum, but oof." She takes a deep breath "Damn if making one in my image isn't confronting me with Mortality a bit." she scratches the back of her head.

Mary Toombs: "We're going all mystical here." She muses. "Spirits, ghosts, goetia, I wonder if there are ways to get more contacts in the local community too. It's not really my area of expertise." Kay get a thoughtful look. "Hm. So, you'd be making a new ghost, one like you? Would it be you, or, new? I, well, it's like creating Life. Am I creating a soul if I ever did that? Not that I'm able to just yet."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I bet..." Jeremiah let that thought percolate, shaking his head after a moment. "So it could be an echo of you, in theory?"

Kayla Sockum: "I don't need any dead people, I can just make it out of nothing." She smiles. "I'm just trying to figure out what I can do to make it, It's a really powerful spell, I might ask for help making it."

"Not quite an echo though."

Mary Toombs: "Hm.." Mary chews her lip again. "This is way over my head. Death to me is part of Life, and leads to new Life in turn. The whole ghost thing, Death as something beyond Life.. it's unknown to me."

Kayla Sockum: "Hmm, I think I might be able to answer that once I catch how Life works a little bit." Kay grins and shrug. "I feel like I have the answer at the tip of my tongue, but can't quite get to the core of it."

Mary Toombs: "You'll get there." She assures Kay. "I think you're certainly vibrant enough for it." A grin shows. "And hopefully both you and Maddy will find those answers."

Kayla Sockum: "Speaking of which, would you want to get out of here?" She asks with a little smile. "I feel like I've been here all day!"

Mary Toombs: "...Have you been here since I left earlier?" She blinks, then smiles softly. "But yes I would. You wanna head home?"

Kayla Sockum: "I took a break to go do something and I changed." She tilt her head to the side, grinning. "Also this dress is really short on me, you're small."

Mary Toombs: Her lips curve up, eyes amused. "Not at all. You're just tall. But I've noticed, yes." She gives Kay a glance over, grinning herself. "I quite like that."

Kayla Sockum: "I figured that would be the way I apologized for wearing it." She slides out of the booth. "If you were upset about it, glad you aren't" She winks, as she tugs the dress down a little bit. "homeward bound?"

Mary Toombs: "Not at all." She chuckles. "I did ditch it here, after all." She reaches out to take Kay's hand. "Home." She repeats happily, turning to lead the way out.
