Kayla Sockum: Kayla makes an appearance in the kitchen, clearly she just woke up, judging by her tired face and the clothes she's got on her back: a too long gray t-shirt and a pair of bright yellow shorts. She looks pretty out of it and seems to be looking for a source of caffeine. It's not her usual time for waking up however, as its much later in the day.

Heather Williams: Hearth has been busy the past few days, hasn't been doing as much baking, and today was no different. She sat at the kitchen table with one of those 'scents of Christmas' candles that smelled nothing like it was advertised but that were still inexplicably given as gifts every year. She was frowning at a notebook that she was sketching or taking notes in, and closed it when Kayla appeared. She smiled, some of the proto-wrinkles smoothing away. "I was just thinking about making coffee, would you like some too?" she offered.

Kayla Sockum: She makes a noise that probably means 'yes' and flops down right into the chair and then rest her head on the table. "really, really bad dream." she manages to form the words and yawns a little bit afterward. "Yeah, coffee would be fantastic."

Heather Williams: "Oh no!" Heather scooted over and gave Kayla a comforting hug, then moved to start the coffee maker before coming back and throwing an arm over her. "Would you like to tell me about them?"

Kayla Sockum: "I'm going to have to tell everyone about them, I'm pretty sure it was one of those special ones." a yawn. "Hence why I just fell asleep in the middle of the day and such." she leans into the hug and squeezes pretty hard.

Heather Williams: "That's a good excuse for a nap," she teased gently. "Now spill."

Kayla Sockum: "It's a dream about the tree being destroyed by a pyramid with many eyes." She shakes her head. "details are a little fuzzy, but it's definitely one of those weird one." a sigh. "the basic understanding I get from that is that the seers are about to try and destroy the tree." she summarize, rubbing her eyes and yawning more.

Heather Williams: "That's what your short summation sounds like to me too," Hearth said with a concerned frown. "Did you dream any details of how that happened?"

Kayla Sockum: "Not really, it was really symbolic, honestly. I suspect it might have something to do with the visit to the astral tree." A nod of her head and she smiles there. "But that's probably a bit of a stretch to be honest."

Heather Williams: "What makes you feel it has something to do with the Astral tree?" Heather pressed, getting up to fill two cups of coffee and passing one over to her. "It may be all symbolic, but symbolic clues are clues nonetheless."

Kayla Sockum: "The way the tree looks." Kayla explains. "It's different than the one in the Underworld, different from this one and it's bigger, brighter, so I feel like this is the Astra one or another emanation." a shrug and another yawn

Heather Williams: "How did they Pyramid with eyes appear? Was it simply there? was it built up brick by brick? Were there tiny laser beams shooting from the eyes?"

Kayla Sockum: "It just loomed behind, with a lot of eyes atop of it." another yawn. "It wasn't built, it was just there." She roll her shoulder and then wrings her hand. "Could you get to the coffee, please?" clearly she's getting a little unsettled.

Heather Williams: Heather nudged the coffee over until it was right under Kayla's nose. "It's black, and strong," she advised. "So it's possible they're already watching the Tree in the Astral. I'm not exactly a Spirit buff." Which put it mildly. It was a significant weak spot of hers as a Moros. "But destroying the tree in the Astral can't be good for the rest of the trees reflections."

Kayla Sockum: "The Astral would make it Mind and you're sort of okay at that." She says, grabbing the coffee and letting it warm her hand, smiling and whispering a thank you. "Speaking of which, I almost fell into my own dreams meditating the other day."

Heather Williams: She threw her hands up. "I'm not super at that either," she grumbled. "I barely know anything and it's mostly so I can think multiple things at once."

Kayla Sockum: "It's a cool few tricks! I wanted to focus on that for a while and then I got upset at something and went with life instead." A shrug and another drink of the coffee. "It could help with stuff in the dream world, I'm sure."

Alexis Bartram: The door leading into the living area opens with a click, and a familiar set of footsteps follows it closing as Alexis makes her way into the kitchen, carrying a bag from a small electronics shop in one hand, "Hello you two! Private conversation?" Alexis gestures an offer to leave if they want.

Heather Williams: "Nono, come on in," she invited, though she looked a bit grim. "Kay had a dream and it's rather important for all of us, I think."

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah, got a dream and I ought to tell you about the thing I brought back from the Underworld too, since I didn't get the chance to do that yet." She smiles brightly, even if she looks like she woke up about 10 minutes ago, which she did. "Also, another topic or two about you."

Alexis Bartram: "I was actually going to ask everyone about something, since I THINK I've managed to break through into Apprentice of both Space and Prime..." Alexis admits with a bit of a grin.

Heather Williams: "Congratulations!" Heather said with a broad grin. "I'm so proud of you! What would you like me to make to celebrate?"

Kayla Sockum: "I get a feeling i know where this is going, but I'm listening." Kayla stretches out and moves to grab something from one of the cupboard, a container full of mixed nuts and pours a few in her hands. "Ask away!"

Alexis Bartram: "I think its about the appropriate time for me to formally graduate from my apprenticeship, and I'd like to request full membership in the Soulwardens. Assuming you all would like to keep me around, of course." Alexis ponders Hearth's question for a few moments before deciding, "Have you ever made Sachertorte?"

Heather Williams: "Not yet!" she said with an excited grin. "Do you have a preferred recipe?"

Kayla Sockum: "I'd like to keep you around, of course Alexis." She grins and does not seem to be particularly surprised. "After the visit in the Underworld, I feel like it's an appropriate step forward for you." she stuff the container back into the cupboard. "I think we floated the idea before a few times." she pokes at Hearth's ribs, trying to get her to state her thoughts on the matter.

Alexis Bartram: "I've never had the chance to eat it before, alas, but I've been curious ever since I saw it on No Reservations. But I doubt its something that can go terribly wrong on you. I mean, apricot and dark chocolate..." Alexis appears to wander off into baked treats imagination land for a moment before shaking it off.

Heather Williams: "Mmmm... Heather seemed to go off into the same headspace that was full of fruit and chocolate. "I'll give it a shot," she said brightly. "As long as we can keep you, of course."

Kayla Sockum: "I just had a dream about the tree and it being destroyed by the Seers, by the way. At least I assume that's what it is." She says with a sigh. "I feel like that would be a rather important information to give you. Given how you awoke."

Alexis Bartram: "...well that's ever so slightly slightly soul-searingly concerning."Alexis grimaces, "I think that's something that should get passed up the chain. You've got some of the most personal contact with the Tree, considering how more aware the Underworld aspect is, out of everyone in the consilium."

Heather Williams: "It should be shared among the higher ups," she agreed. "We have our personal connections to the tree but we aren't the only ones- or even its primary defenders."

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah, i'll wake up, eat and figure out a way to pass out my information around." She nods a little there, stretching out her arms wide and she yawns again. "Without sounding like I'm weirdo who spews random dream stuff."

Heather Williams: Hearth chuckled. "It is very wizardly of you. Vague warnings and mystical pronouncements are our jam."

Alexis Bartram: "I don't think it was random at all, but it is probably best to gather yourself first."

Kayla Sockum: "I don't think it was random, but If I come into a consilium meeting running and screaming something like." a beat. "The Pyramids with Many Eyes if gonna crash the tree and nuke it! Wake up Sheeple!" Kay chuckles. "I may just not be taken as seriously, is what I'm saying."

Heather Williams: "I don't know, the symbolism of the dream was pretty clear. I don't think there're many symbols that would be more clear unless your brain spit out a literal throne full of eyeballs."

Alexis Bartram: "I don't know much about the various Seer...uhh...whatever they call their Orders. Maybe the Pyramid is specific to one of them, which would make it even more specific?"

Heather Williams: "I'm not sure about that," she admitted. "But the pyramid with the eye is a common symbol. Hell, it's on our money. It's generally considered to mean God watching over us, the all-seeing eye, free masonry, the illuminati... you can see how it kinda fits with those bastards who want to watch and control everything."(edited)

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah, I think it is, but I just had the dreams so I had to like, wake up and make sense of it. Also coffee and making sure Heather still likes me." she gives a side hug to her cadremate with a little grin.

Alexis Bartram: "Hm. Speaking of making sure Guardians like you, maybe I should learn more Russian..."

Heather Williams: Heather rolled her eyes at Kay. "I love you. And I love you too even without you learning Russian," she grumbled.

Kayla Sockum: She gives Heather a hug and squeeze hard. "Hey, I like to know i'm not annoying you, okay?" She chuckles. "And learning Russian would be cool, lots of people speak it around."

Heather Williams: "If you annoy me, you'll know it," Heather said mildly. "By the lack of coffee and treats."

Alexis Bartram: "There has been something of an avalanche of Russian, or at least Russian-speaking, mages in the area recently."

Kayla Sockum: "Oh I know you'll make me know, there was a supicious lack of anything fun to eat after Nevy left." she grins and a shrugs there, referring to the ghost in the fridge incident.

Jeremiah Hamilton: The conversation in the kitchen seemed to have drawn the attention of another one of the sanctum's residents, with Jeremiah peeking in through the doorway curiously. "Hey...everything good?"

Alexis Bartram: "Yes but also no?" Alexis waves to Jay then gestures at Kay, "Foreboding dream."

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah had a weird, Pyramid themed dream with eyes and the tree burning down and its why I'm in my PJs this late." She immediately defends her outfit as she chews on more of her handful of mixed nuts.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah's eyebrow arched up high at that, coming into the kitchen further. He seemed more concerned about the contents of the dream than Kay's wardrobe, truth be told. "Well then..."

Alexis Bartram: "I'm not saying it makes me think we should bring some more Arrows on the Astral trip, but..."

Heather Williams: "You should at least make sure those going are ready for a fight," she completed.

Kayla Sockum: "I think maybe the point is we need to shield the sanctum a little more, I feel like maybe this is going to play some part eventually." she looks to both the Mastigos. "Maybe a space ward to stop teleporting and scrying?" a yawn follows.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Should be able to handle that, yeah." Jeremiah nodded, looking over to Alexis. "Wanna do a headshed on that at some point and see what we come up with?"

Alexis Bartram: "That sounds like a good idea. We can just key it so it doesn't affect any members of the cadre. Which, changing the subject slightly...how do we want to change roles around if I'm going to be joining as a full member?"

Kayla Sockum: "That depends on which role you would feel like you'd fit best." a shrug. "And do you need space to key things like that? or fate?"

Heather Williams: "Roles are a pretty nebulous thing, to be honest. At least with us who aren't operating on a strict cultlike basis. What kind of things do you want to take over helping with around here?"

"Technically, I'm the Edgetender and in charge of keeping our Hallow doing its thing properly. Cultivating magical resources. Making cookies and magic cookies. Jeremiah is our Farseeker, responsible for buying me new kitchen equipment when I need it, Mary's the Doorwarden in charge of keeping us safe and the kitchen from burning down. Kayla's the Lorekeeper, in charge of talking to other cabals and doing all the real work around here." She grinned.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It can be keyed with just Space, just takes a little extra oomph to do it." Jeremiah nodded, smirking at Hearth's description of the cadre's roles. "I'd say you double as the Hearthmaster too, and not just because of your Shadow Name."(edited)

Alexis Bartram: "Space does Keys, Fate does Conditional Duration. I think you can do some like...conditional activation stuff with a combination of Fate and Time." Alexis ponders for a second "Professional Nerd." she coughs, "ER, I mean, Lorekeeper. Assuming Kay is willing to slide roles around and take over the Hearthmaster role."

Kayla Sockum: "It also means I'm the one to write down when someone's being targeted by an interdict." a little laugh follows. "I'm not sure what a Hearthmaster does exactly, in an official fashion?"

Heather Williams: "Denmom, pretty much," Heather said with a shrug. "And honestly, we all share the work of keeping our cabal's bonds strong and healthy, and the place around here clean and welcoming. If we didn't have as strong personal bonds the official role and title would be more important."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "True enough." Another small nod followed as Jeremiah looked between Kay and Alexis. "Up to you as far as Lorekeeper goes, though; splitting it may not be a bad way to go about it."

Alexis Bartram: "I think it also covers making sure that the sanctum's defenses are well established and maintained." Alexis notes, "Whereas Harmony's role is more...uhh...active threat resolution. But there's nothing stoping us from splitting the role...which is pretty much what our Orders do in the Consilium, after all."

Kayla Sockum: "I certainly don't mind sharing or changing titles" The contrary would've been rather surprising coming from Kay honestly. "Being Lorekeeper is mostly a remnant of what I wanted when we formed the Soulwardens and I'm not sure if I want anymore." a shrug, maybe an emotion she manages to pass easily. "I could try to do the Hearthmaster thing more actively, it's... definitely in line with where I think my head is going."

Heather Williams: "We could probably sit down and reevaluate our corporate structure," Heather said with a smirk. "See where the dead weight is, optimize and strategerize."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah gave Hearth a quiet look at that, although the smirk on his own face softened whatever blow might come from it. "Thank you for that flashback to my business classes..."

Kayla Sockum: "Talk like that again, Hearth and I will cook your breakfast for a whole week." That is a threat if there ever was one.

Alexis Bartram: "Oh gracious I'm so glad you're not actually allowed to do that, I'd have to stay away for a month for it to be safe in here again."

Heather Williams: She laughed. "Don't worry, that's as much corporate speak as I know. Thankfully my shop is a down-to-earth folksy owner operated small business with none of that HR nonsense."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Imagine going through four years of that kind of talk...I'm happy my brain was still intact enough to Awaken after the fact." Jeremiah chuckled, shaking his head with a smile. "I'm all for rejiggering positions as needed, though."

Kayla Sockum: "You never tasted anything I made, Alexis. And my cookie attempt with Maddy were fine." she poke her tongue out at her. Sititng back down. "And yeah I imagine going through corporate stuff is painful." (will have to focus on work prep soonish too)

Alexis Bartram: "So what you're saying is you DON'T want to help me write grant applications?" Alexis asks with an evil smirk.
