Log

Sam is cooking. Well. Sam has put a load of sausages on for frying and the kitchen has a fair amount of smoke, but also delicious smells. At least in an all Werewolf household, no one comments at about twenty sausages on the go at once. He sings loudly and somewhat off tune, uncaring of who might overhear him.

Ri watches, coffee in hand, not really saying or looking at anything, just taking in the smells and maybe regretting having a second beer and staying up late. Finally she sits at the kitchen counter. "You know," she says, each word progressively getting easier, "you have a terrible singing voice. But you're cooking sausage, and that smells amazing, so, forgiven. Plus, where do you get this stuff? It's good."

"Ah, ah." Sam raises a finger, grinning. "That's not being nice. I have a wonderful singing voice." He stabs a fork into one of the sausages, half turning to let the aroma drift more towards Ri. "Admit it and I'll share my food with you." Like hell it's all his food. "And I think they're from, hm.." A pause. "I forget the name, but it's a nearby butcher, really good for quality food."

"Yes, I was completely incorrect before. I now see where I was wrong and you have a fantastic voice." Ri licks her lips, "Now, gimme. Gimme gimme." She laughs, winces, and goes back to her coffee. "Maybe you can take me around the city a little? I've been here for a few months but still don't know my way around."

Nodding approvingly, Sam dishes out several for them both, leaving more under a warm heat in case other packmates wander in. Settling at the table he takes a few bites before speaking up. "I'd say you know the city pretty well. How many local businesses have you poked around in, server wise? But, yes. I'm all up for a wander about. City's got its own rhythm, lifecycle, and it's good at keeping us busy, mm?

Ri smiles briefly. "Well, yeah, digitally I've seen a lot of the city, sure. Point." She stuffs her mouth with a sausage. "It'th jutht, exthuthe me," she swallows. "It's just, well, it's not really sausage I'm talking about." She chuckles. "Or maybe it is, haha. I just don't know where people go. I can't always stay in here or on the hunt."

She takes another huge bite. "Okath, that'th a lie."

"I take it what you mean is that you shouldn't?" Sam asks, nodding. "Agreed. Work takes me out, so does hunting, but also, just, fun times. Letting your hair down, just savouring the beat of the city. But it depends on what I'm in the mood for. Crowded club with far too loud music, poetry readings, a sports game of some sort.. what kinda mischief do you wanna get into Ri?"

"Hrm, what a wonderfully broad question. Sports I can pass on but a crowded club with some of the folks sounds amazing." Chomp, nom, nom. "There's always opportunities for trouble there," she adds with a smile. "Might be good to let off a little steam."

"The world's a wonderfully broad place. And aside from me suggesting we tag team to see if we can knock over a bank, which may be my ego getting away from me, I'm still learning you too." A light smile. More nomming. "And what sort of trouble is Ri after? Oh! Not sure if you've heard, but Killy's wanting to get to know us better, he's looking for a pack and wanted to see how we might sync."

"Killy." Ri's eyes go up and around a bit. "Killy, Killy, Killy..." her eyes go wide. "Ooooh, yeah, Killy. Oh, yeah, Killy." She chuckles. "Yeah I don't really know him very well, but he seems like the type that is good for trouble."

Ri takes a second, and then looks over a Sam. "'Knock over a bank?' What are you, Al Capone over there? What do you need to rob a bank for?" She leans in. "No, really, what do you need to knock over a bank for?" Ri asks, her smile a predatory thing.

A pause, then he's leaning forward, unable to resist that hint of trouble, of a hunt. "In my thoughts, just to prove we can. For the challenge, for the risk. But I should find a better reason, mm? Hitting one that's a front for the Pure, or that has people trapped in crushing debt. So less stealing it, more.. setting the balance right. Yes." A nod in an effort to convince them both.

Ri shakes her head. "The 'Robin Hood' defense, eh, councilor?" She thinks for a second. "The problem is that just bursting in full Dalu and scaring the living daylights out of some poor teller making fifteen an hour doesn't really do much, ya know? FDIC and all that. And they've got pretty good about protecting where the money really is, so it'd be an uphill battle to wipe out any records before they can put in a claim. But..." Ri stops, thinking for a bit. "A Pure front is a tempting target, though. They'd clearly have a number of various defenses," she mutters, "and a physical attack probably would meet some legit security."

"The biggest thing is that while I'd love to hit them, we'd have to be smart about it. We're a lot weaker now and they will counter-attack." Ri gives Sam a long look. "You'd really want to rob a bank just for the thrill?"

"I'd want to." He confirms, then chuckles. "But want to and doing are two very different things. And I agree, a physical, up front attack won't really get us anywhere. Getting into their systems and records, both digital and physical though, that'd be the real trick I suspect. Most money only exists digitally these days, bound up in deeds and properties and businesses. I'll stress, unless we find a target that's legitimate grounds for a hunt, I'm just spinning theories."

Ri smiles. "I could look. Systems and insurance notwithstanding, everything still has to have cash on hand. Taking the cash and planting a disruption to their systems would work. A physical attack wouldn't be expected, that's for sure. And, I can't lie, I've always wanted to be on a criminal crew like the movies. Get ourselves some muscle and a wheel man, might be kind of fun. And it would be a big hit."

She laughs, looking down. "Damn, Sam, I love working with you. This sort of thing could ignite a full-on war, and you're pitching it on a whim." Ri takes a few moments, clearly thinking it all through. "Yeah. Fuck yeah. I'm in but we're going to need more than just us. We're going to need... not permission, but we should probably get the pack's thoughts. I can say if Taylor isn't in, this is going nowhere."

"Agreeing with that, we'd need the pack onboard." Sam's grin grows. "Plus we'd need to identify some of the Pure holdings to pick a target. Cards on the table though, what I'd really want is to use a hit like this as cover to spike their systems, start to map out their infrastructure in more detail. We can't win any sort of conflict, if it resumes, without knowing what targets to focus on."

Ri snorts. "How much 'infrastructure' do you think they have?" She stops. "Shit, how much infrastructure do they have? We don't really know right?" She bites at a nail, muttering to herself. "I really hate to say this because I don't want to owe him any favors, but Cody might be the guy we need to see about this." She eyes her sausage. "I really don't want to owe him a favor, though."

"At this time, I'm unsure." Sam admits. "And I don't like that not knowing. At the very least, we need an in, a piece of information to work with. Right now we're on the back foot, vulnerable, and they'll be getting ready to go for our throat." A sigh. "I don't want to owe him either, but Cody might be our best option. As you said though, we've gotta see what the others think."
