Kay is quiet when she returns to the Sanctum late at night, she's dressed in black hoodie and pants, a rather somber choice for the usually colorful woman, move around the area with her hand tracing the wall to guide herself, but further down in the hallway, a bit of light? She walks toward it, her spells slowly fade away from her.
Harmony is sprawled on the couch, legs tucked up under her and wearing shorts and a loose t-shirt herself. Her eyes are half-closed and her breathing is steady, the Arrow focused on her mediation, a slight scent of pleasant incense in the air as a scented candle burns on the table in front of her.
Kay moves closer to the meditating arrow and sits right on the floor, between the table and the couch, but tries her best not to make any noises. Not the best at stealth, but she tries. Once she's seated, she watches Mary meditates.
Her lips curve in a quiet smile and she breaths out, eyes opening fully. Uncurling her legs, Harmony drops down to rest on the floor next to Kay, offering her cadremate a hand. "Tell me?" She offers. "Was it the protest and what happened?"
"I left the protest a little early, I had to go deal with Mother's day." Kay leans against Mary and smiles even as her eyes glisten with a touch of tears. "I almost forgot it was today."
"Oh. Sweetie, I'm sorry." She wraps arms around Kay in a tight hug, kissing her temple. "With everything that's happened in just two days, I know there's a lot to figure out." She runs a hand over Kay's hair, soothing.
Kay oofs a little bit at the hug and just let it happens, her hair feels silky, it smells a little weird from her spending time at the protest. "It didn't get too bad this year." a shrug "I just needed a serious hour alone just letting my head do its thing, it's still pretty draining."
The Thyrsus nods, loosening the hug lightly. "It's a rough thing, so taking time, mm." A quiet nod. "You feel all wrung out? Do you need some rest?"
"Actually I think I kind of napped it out on that park bench for an hour after I tried doing what you were just now." Kay chuckles, remaining in the hug. "Surprise I didn't get in any trouble, but hey, sometimes you get lucky."
A quiet laugh and a poke of Kay's nose. "That's because you are trouble, and folx know it. And don't tell anyone, but sometimes me appearing to mediate is just me getting some sneaky shuteye."
"Did I just wake you up?" Kay pokes Mary's nose back again, she hides her face more into the hug. "Or were you approaching some kind of inner peace before I crashed it."
A louder laugh this time, vibrant and happy. "You'll never get me to talk." She rests a hand on the back of Kay's head as she hides her face, leaning forward to blow out the candle. "Inner peace is hard when I can smell Hearth's cooking everywhere anyway."
"Thank you for being open to Peacekeeper studying the potential fruit with us." She mumbles against her Cadremate "I'm considering asking Maddy to help me learn how to cook so I can finally lift the interdict."
"I was afraid at first you'd ask if we could give it to her." Harmony admits "Which is against The Adamant Way. Service is Mastery and denying what's right because of my own desires.." A rueful smile. "Something for me to work on raising above." She chuckles, stroking Kay's hair. "Maddy's an awesome person, she'll see you right if you ask."
"It's what I would want, but I would only formally ask it if it was a fruit I was earning." She remains in the hug and even traps Harmony in one of her own, to show her affection for the other magi is unaffected, unchanged. "This is an Us thing, so we can share" she looks up "And that's part of the Cortical Precepts."
Harmony beams, rubbing her cheek against Kay's as she's hugged back. "I need to ask you more about those at some point. I think if the Arrows hadn't drawn me in, I'd have approached the Children, and your Order's a wise one." A nod. "How do you feel about a bit of a longer nap, and maybe some snuggling? I'll keep you company if you like. Or, to just keep talking here, or, anything you want really." A smile. (I'm gonna need to pose out in one or two rounds I'm afraid.)
"I'm happy to talk to you about that when ever." Kay smiles and sit up. "I'm all for snuggling and napping right now"
Harmony smiles back, standing and offering Kay a hand. "With you then, mm. Let's find a good bed to kip in, and fight the temptation to steal Jay's or Hearth's." An evil grin.
