Maddy's Wafflehouse

Log

Jolene Logan: It'd been an....interesting...few days. The truth was she hadn't left the house since their date. But tonight, like it was, pointedly, no big deal, she mentioned she was craving french toast to Darren, and if he wanted to grab something at Maddy's. Which all very neatly translated to the blooded trying to take baby steps back into the world and away from the safety of her home.

Once he'd finished a bit of work, and grabbed Jo, they made their way to Maddy's, because for all the things she could cook, according to her, her french toast was never quite right, despite clearly being her favorite breakfast food.

She'd been oh so careful during the ride not to catch any mirrors, but to not look too obvious about the fact she was avoiding them! And finally, finally they were heading in. "Thanks for driving..." which really meant thanks for coming with me, because she almost never drove anywhere. Her eyes, a richer, deeper blue than normal, flicked over the wafflehouse.

Darren Lynch: Darren entered looking slightly tired this evening. A fresh scab on his cheek in the shape of an X. Surely that would scar. Otherwise he was nicely dressed in a black jacket and slacks. For those that knew where to look he was carrying two guns on his sides. Clean shaven, his hair neatly combed out of his face. He'd tower over Jolene as they came in, "Next time I'll be an ass an' make you take a cab," he said flatly as if thanking him for menial things was a silly task.

Spicy: Spicy, to the non-fair folks, is a tall, broad shouldered woman with a toned, sculpted physique, with long brown hair and a general intense - looking impression. From behind the counter, she surveys the dinner, empty and not so empty booths, drumming her fingers on the edge of the counter.

A white apron, some black slack and a button up shirt with rolled up sleeves and she watches the two people come in. She greets them with a bright, jovial smile, raising her hand. "Hey, new people, Welcome to Maddy's. Have a seat, we'll take your order soon."

Jolene Logan: And of all reactions to the words, she just smiled, looking vaguely pleased by them. After a moment of eyeing seating options, she gave an upnod to a booth in back, giving him a window to of time to redirect her before she'd start heading towards it. She had a tendency for hypervigilance, and liking to see the comings and goings around her, that only lessened a touch in his presence. "...you'd miss out on breakfast then....but probably catch up on sleep." Maybe.

She smiled to the woman and gave a little nod "Hey." She offered as an after thought as if the word took a moment to find.

Darren Lynch: Darren knocked twice on the counter with his knuckle as they passed, "Evenin'." he said with a grateful nod and a heavy accent. The tall woman was given a once over. It wasn't lewd or sexual in any way, only sizing her up because she had size to be ... upped. He rarely saw a woman over 5' these days. He'd follow Jo, and direct her towards the wall -- though he really didn't have to do much of anything. If nothing else they had a routine. A weird sort of understanding that came with married couples after years of being together. Silent understanding and moving in sync with one another.

Spicy: Spicy retreat to the kitchen for a moment, then comes with a pen and a pad, heading for the spot where Darren and Jolene have decided to settle down for their meal, she takes notes as she arrives on the pad. "Hey, name's Spicy, let me know when you're ready to order. Also, if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, I'll work with 'em no problem."

The accent she sports is definitely not local, it's not a super pronounced accent she has anyway, but it's notable enough that she's obviously not been local for a long time.

Jolene Logan: They did move like an old married couple, a silent sort of understanding of things, and she slipped into a booth, taking the seat against the wall, where she felt safest. She toyed with her menu for a moment, already knowing what she wanted. Her eyes flicked over Darren, as if debating if he needed more time, but they'd been here enough times, and if nothing else, he was a man who knew himself. Still! She'd close her menu and wait for him to follow suit. This was more about getting out after the other night...the french toast was just the reward she was giving herself for the venture.

"Nice to meet you Spicy." She offers with an easy smile "I'm Jo." She hadn't been, not until Darren started calling her that. Her family had always called her Jolene, or Jolie...but this was a new life and new names seemed fitting.

Darren Lynch: Darren hadn't even bothered with a menu. He leaned forward, elbows resting on the edge of the table, that is of course until the food came and then he wouldn't be rude. "Spicy? S'a name isn' it?" though it was without tease. Just a comment. "Green forest for myself." he said, ready to let Jo go on with her order and then paused, "Actually.. do you 'ave tea?" he questioned. "Not bullshit, but actual tea?" Realizing this might be the one place he could get something decent.

Guy Dagenham: The door chimes, and in walks a familiar stranger, to Jolene and Darren, at least. Guy is dressed much the same as he usually is, tonight his t-shirt reads “Suck It” instead of being plain. He looks paler than the last time they saw him, like he’s been ill or maybe rather sleep deprived.

He takes in the diner with a glance, nodding to the people he knows before taking a seat at a table and patiently waiting.

Spicy: "I'm pretty sure we've got something to your taste here, and if we don't Maddy will be able to procure some of it." Spicy points to the suggestion box. "Write it up if we don't have it and there's a good chance it'll appear in the rotating menu." she takes note for the green forest. "A pleasure to meet you Jo." a nod to the woman.

"Spicy's just a nickname someone gave me and it stuck, I like it." A grin. Then she looks to Guy when he comes in and waves to him. "Hey, welcome to Maddy's, I'll take your order shortly."

Jolene Logan: And she perked up a bit "French toast with sausage and bacon..." pauses "And I'll take some tea too..." No where near as picky as Darren was likely to be, but she liked tea with a little milk and sugar, and him suggesting it but the thought back in her head. Her eyes flicked to Guy for a moment, head tilting curiously but quickly moving back to Darren and Spicy.

Darren Lynch: "Thanks, I appreciate it," he said with a nod. His attention distracts towards Guy as he came in and sat down, lingering there briefly before looking back to Spicy. He wasn't dismissive of those in the service industry. In fact he often showed them more patience and kindness than he'd afford others.

Guy Dagenham: Guy nods to Spicy. “Of course, no rush.” He doesn’t react to the looks from the Blooded, though he doesn’t ignore the two. Just sort of, doesn’t interrupt as they get their orders situated. He’s not sitting very far away; close enough to talk to, but not right next to them if they don’t want to.

Spicy: "Anything else?" She ask of Darren and Jolene, writing down an additional note on there. Then throws a look back toward the kitchen, for a brief moment, as if to check on something with just a glance, as she waits for the answer.

Jolene Logan: She made a mmmm of sound as if really thinking about it "...cream and sugar for the tea?" It was the only thing she could think of "thank you." Smiling sincerely to the woman.

Darren Lynch: "S'fine, thank you." Darren gave a nod and leaned back. He glanced again to Guy and then to Jo as if to gather her feelings on the matter. She was a kinder person than he. Eventually though there was a sentence towards Guy's direction. "Does this mean Calamity is sure to follow?"

Guy Dagenham: He looks to Darren and tilts his head. “Oh, the scamp, not the disaster. Well...yeah. No, they and I don’t usually run in the same circles. Actually, I don’t even know if they can enter this place.” He shrugs. “Small world, running into you here, I guess.”

Spicy: Spicy moves toward Guy after getting the last note on Darren and Jolene's table and stand near Guy's "Alright, anything I can get you? Dietary restriction?" She flips the notepad swiftly to another page, taking a few more notes, waiting for the order or rebuttal.

Jolene Logan: Her eyes shift back to Guy and somewhere in that she realizes, he was from the arcade, and she mentally berates herself. It was a detail she'd have normally never missed, and a reminder that her head isn't quite right still. There is a brief moment of eyes narrowing, before her expression falls into something more public friendly. "....so it is...." she muses, of course by virtue of them being here, there was that under text....they were all in the know to some extent. She did watch Guy, curious about dietary restrictions! Maybe he was allergic to peanuts....

Darren Lynch: "Very small world," he agreed simply, though his mind slipped elsewhere briefly before he looked to the exchange. Not for what info it might afford him, but rather waiting for the man to be finished so he might ask another question.

Guy Dagenham: “Ah, yes, but nothing for you to worry about, I promise. Cranberry juice, three slices of toast, two eggs over easy, and two sausage links, please.”

Spicy: "Alright!" Spicy says enthusiastically and writes down the order rapidly and nods. "Thanks for your order, It'll be on the way in a moment." She pockets the notepad in the pocket of her apron, she then proceeds to the kitchen with a spring in her step, washing her hands on the way in.

Jolene Logan: She cants her head at the very specific order, but offers nothing in turn. "How do you know Calamity?" She asks curiously, the same question Darren had asked her that night in the arcade and now she realized that perhaps, she should turn that question on Darren, trying to recall if she'd actually used their name that night when talking about Calamity. It was hard to say, words, very powerful, and oh so fleeting, few things lived on the air for long after all.

Darren Lynch: Darren let the two talk, usually content to let Jolene be the mouthpiece of the relationship. She'd likely ask what he wanted to know anyhow, the two of them usually thinking along the same wave lengths.

Guy Dagenham: “Ah, Calamity’s sister is an associate of mine. We met through both having an interest in her well-being.”

Spicy: Spicy takes a bit of time in the kitchen before coming back out, carrying each of their drinks, obviously, this is not her first rodeo carrying things around in a restaurant, Jolene and Darren gets their tea with the little side they ordered with it, then slides cranberry juice to Guy. "Rest of the orders are on the way." she announces as she disappears back into the kitchen.

Jolene Logan: She made a thoughtful sound at the mention of the sister, nodding, her eyes giving a once over to Guy's shirt as she begins to doctor up her tea. "Mmm, I met them at this cool little bar and music place..." She offers by way of exchange, as cream and sugar are added to the tea.

Darren Lynch: “Thank you,” soft spoken gratitude towards Spicy as he looks down to the tea and tests a sip. He doesn’t doctor anything, enjoying it straight instead. “Calamity is a good kid. I hadn’t thought of their company in terms of spotting them at Maddy’s. And you say you’re not sure if they could get in here?” He nods gently with a glance out the window.

Guy Dagenham: “They are,” he says, sipping at his cranberry juice. “Can’t seem to keep from getting themselves into trouble, but they seem to be good at pulling through.” He looks at Darren a moment. “They’re an edge case, more than human, but still one.”

Spicy: It takes a little bit before Spicy re-emerges from the kitchen again, her whistling can be heard from there too, apparently she's in a good mood tonight. She peeks out for a brief moment to retrieve something from under the counter, swearing under her breath, then swinging right back into hiding.

Jolene Logan: And edge case, would she be considered that? Probably, making a little sound as she took a sip of her tea. "Well, if you're in the habit of getting in trouble, it's a good skill to have to be able to get out of it..." Because the other option was, you didn't. Her attention briefly shifting to Spicy, giving a faint smile as the woman worked. She, was content to let Darren do the window looking today. Her and reflective surfaces weren't friends again yet.

Darren Lynch: “An edge case?” Perhaps not familiar with the term. He took another sip of his drink and glanced to the man’s cranberry juice briefly.

Guy Dagenham: “I’m not going to spill their shit, but, you know.” He waggles the fingers of a hand. “They have things going on, but they aren’t a supernatural being.”

“Don’t tell them I said that, it’ll probably piss them off.”

Spicy: Spicy pushes the door open with her back, carrying several plates in her arm, each of their orders made. She brings Jolene the first plate, slides Darren his own plate right after, smiling at them. "Bon appetit." then she moves to Guy's table to give him his order as well. "And you too!"

Jolene Logan: She looked up to Spicy "Looks delicious, thank you." offering an easy smile before her attention went to the conversation at hand. "I won't say a word." She assures him, as her french toast gets dressed with plenty of butter and syrup. "I know what it's like to be the person who doesn't want their secrets cast about too casually." Of course she did, she hoarded the details of her past.

Darren Lynch: Darren leaned back again as they received their food, "Thank you Spicy," he said quietly, looking over to Jo a moment. "And you Guy? What sort o' case are you?"

Guy Dagenham: “Thanks,” he says with a little smile to Spicy. “It smells incredible.”

He cuts up his eggs, and then looks to Darren, pausing a moment, his eyes cold and unreadable. Then he smiles wide, and his fangs extend; canines and eye teeth drawing down into points. “I’ll give you three guesses, and the first two don’t count.”

Spicy: "Ooh." Spicy seems a little amused by the display there, clearly not her first view. "Now I understand the dietary comment from earlier." She takes a seat behind the counter and set down her notepad, pulling a newspaper of the day and setting it before her, possibly to wait out the rest of her shift.

Jolene Logan: She blinked, as if working to process that and then just stared wide at him. As far as she knew, she'd never seen or known a vampire. Of course, it was entirely possible that wasn't the case, but Jo didn't know that! Her lips formed a little 'oh' as she sat there, holding an impaled piece of sausage dripping with syrup. If she'd been thinking, or even just in a slightly different head space, she'd have played the moment cooler, found a joke to be made.

Darren Lynch: Darren didn’t seem entirely surprised. He’d nod gently then and look to his own food. “And what sort of work do you do?” Perhaps his original intent when he’d asked his case but knowing he was a vampire was certainly useful information as well.

Guy Dagenham: “I promise not to make a mess,” he says to Spicy with a little grin, then the fangs retract and he eats some food.

At Darren’s question he points to the bulletin board, and sips some juice. “Freelance. Bit of this and that. Find people or things, dispose of things. Assortment of stuff besides that.”

Spicy: "Do you know someone called Atalo, by any chance?" She asks Guy, looking up from her newspaper, remembering the guarding turn she took a while ago.

Then return her look toward Jolene and Darren, just for a brief moment. "Everything okay?" She asks, clearly at Jolene's intent.

Jolene Logan: She made a thoughtful sound, her eyes straining at the flyer, a faint smile spreading on her lips at something or other, before she finally took her bite of sausage, leaving this line of discussion to Darren, who might well be debating work opportunities. Her eyes shift to Spicy, setting the name aside just in case she ever ran into this Atalo person. "Oh yeah, everythings good, the food is great." She assures her.

Darren Lynch: His head turned and looked at the bulletin board but he’d get up and read it after his meal. Without looking up he focuses on his food neatly clearing a few bites before talking again.

Guy Dagenham: “Mmhmm. He’s...a close acquaintance, I guess. Distant relation, you could say.”

He glances at Jolene and Darren, and eats some more.

Jeremiah Hamilton: The portal did as portals do and out came one(1) casually dressed Jeremiah, dark jeans and a grey t-shirt from a music house in Los Angeles joined by a pair of chunky black glasses to round out the ensemble. He perked up a bit spotting at least one familiar face already in the diner, giving the others a smile and a quick salute. "Hey there."

Spicy: "Oh nice, I know him a little bit from a while ago, chill guy with a solid grip." Spicy comments with a smile toward Guy. Her attention turns to the portal and her eyebrow raise as she takes in Jeremiah. "Hey there, Welcome to Maddy's..." she grabs her note pad. "Let me know when you're ready to order."

Jolene Logan: Bright blue eyes shifted to the opening portal, canting her head, and offering a little smile by way of greeting. Before looking back to her food, reaching out to slide a piece of her bacon onto Darren's plate, like an offering before she took another piece for herself. "Busy morning." well, as busy as usual, there was no denying this was the place for breakfast no matter the hour.

Darren Lynch: Darren was focused mostly on his breakfast, though he glanced up at the new arrival and gave a faint nod if there was one to be had. A brief pause to enjoy a few more sips of his tea.

Guy Dagenham: Guy looks up and nods to the new arrival. “Hello.” He looks at him a moment longer, and then returns to eating, before remembering Spicy said something. “Oh, yes, he’s a good man. Nice dog, lovely shop. Dependable sort.”

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Coffee and a corned beef scramble, please." He replied to Spicy with a polite smile, grabbing a spot at the counter within easy conversation range of the others. "Good to see some new faces in here, or at least new to me. Jeremiah, although most folks call me Jay."

Spicy: "Alright, Jay. Coming up!!" She slides out of her seat and goes to the back, disappearing behind the door to work on the order. (brb, pose around me if this goes longer than expected)

Jolene Logan: "What kind of shop?" she asked Guy, of the person, she'd never met, but you never knew what tidbits would be useful! She looked to the new arrival "Nice to meet you Jay, I'm Jolene, and this is Darren." She offers to the man. Her hair a wild blond mane of curls and her breakfast of choice apparently french toast, sausage, and bacon.

Darren Lynch: Darren gave the new man a brief nod. He was content to let others hold conversation while he enjoyed his meal, only piping up when he had something to ask or contribute.

Guy Dagenham: “A thrift shop. Carries lots of interesting stuff, even clothes in my size.” His eyes flicker to Darren, as if trying to point out to Jolene that they’re both large men. “It’s a nice place to find things.”

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Good to meet you both." Jeremiah gave the pair a nod before looking back to Jolene. "Out of curiosity, did you strike up a conversation with the owner of Vinyl Tap recently? She pointed me towards someone with that name on the performing front."

Spicy: Spicy comes out of the kitchen, carrying a mug of coffee with a small plate with the milk, sugar and cream Jay ordered with it, sliding it in front of him. "Rest of the order coming up." before retreating back to the kitchen.

Jolene Logan: She blinked and slowly nodded at that "Yeah....I did, not sure she should have been directing you my way though, she's never heard me perform." Looking vaguely amused "Vic's got some blind faith going on." Rolling her shoulders, and stretching out her back a bit.

Darren Lynch: Darren looked over to Jo at that. “Who’s giving’ out your name now?” He asked and then looked back to Jay with renewed interest.

Guy Dagenham: Guy smiles slightly to himself, finishing his good while the conversation carries on.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Thanks." Jeremiah took the coffee and gave Spicy a nod as she zipped back into the kitchen, taking a moment to doctor the cup with a notable amount of sugar and a splash of the cream. Jolene's answer earned a small smirk, although Darren's sudden interest didn't go unmissed. "She talked you up nonetheless. I do a lot of work with local musicians, both on the mentoring front and by providing performance space at the cafe I run, and she mentioned you'd be worth talking to."

Spicy: Spicy comes out of the kitchen for a brief moment, leaving out what looks like a heavy duffel bag behind the counter before returning to the kitchen rapidly, the sound of a plate getting set on a counter heard about ten second later.

Maybe a minute later Spicy exits once again with the corned beef scramble. "New regular order Jay? Or just felt like trying out something else?"

Jolene Logan: She turned slightly, talking just a little softer for Darren "Vic, is the girl who owns that music and drinks place I met Calamity at. She'd mentioned thinking about doing an open mic thing....told her I might be interested." It was clear she hadn't really expected her name to be bandied about, but it was what it was! Her eyes shifted back to Jeremiah and she gave a little nod. "I mean, I can definitely see why she'd talk me up, I am pretty fabulous." She teased, putting all that charisma to use. "I'm really not that good though, I've barely practiced anything in like...a year...." She promises with the same easy conversational manner, really working to make expectations were low. That felt safer.

Her eyes shifted to Spicy, the duffle bag, curiously for a moment, before looking back to the others.

Darren Lynch: He looked from her back to Jay, "S'fucking trap, did you hear that? She's good at pretty much whatever she does." he pushed his plate away, finished with it and satisfied, pulling the tea closer. "Just don' go gettin' too famous Jolene," he said taking the last sip of that too before glancing to Spicy with hopes of a refill.

Guy Dagenham: “Need a hand with that?” He asks Spicy, polishing off his juice. “Not to butt in, it’s just no trouble, is all.”

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Bit of both? Got a bike ride in my future after I leave here, and figured that'd be better than my usual." Jeremiah said to Spicy with a smirk, eyeing where the bag had been placed briefly before looking back to the Lost. "Doing some training yourself, I'm guessing?"

"Noted." He nodded to Darren, a warm smile on his face as he looked back to Jolene. "I'd be interested in hearing you play at some point if you'd be up for it."

Spicy: "Yeah, I've turned into a bit of a gym rat lately and those are just some of my heavier stuff. Also, some preventative measures in case I'm needed to escort people to safety or something like that. Baseball bat's not just for hitting balls." She explains.

A look to Darren when he looks her way, she seem to understand easily enough and goes into the kitchen to return with another cup. "Anyone else need a refill of something ?" she asks

Jolene Logan: She couldn't help but laugh at Darren saying it was a trap "It's managing expectations!" She insists "I can't make french toast." Clearly proving she wasn't good at everything! She looked back to Jeremiah and nods "Yeah, that could probably be arranged, I have a guitar, and violin, no piano at the moment, 'less you count what's on my phone..." Smirking a bit "And I have no idea what my voice is worth, but -" She shrugs clearly willing to give it a try. "Just can't go on tour, Darren'd get lonely, and no one wants that." Completely deadpan.

Darren Lynch: Darren looked to the other two men with a glance only they'd understand. A flat cry for help when it came to his girlfriend's humor, accompanied by a slow blink. He scratched his eye brow with his thumb nail and glanced over at her. "Yeah... clearly."

Guy Dagenham: Guy chuckles and shrugs at Darren offering no help at all. “That doesn’t sound fun, that’s true.”

He nods to Spicy. “Another cranberry juice, please, and thank you very much.”

To Jay he asks, “Muscle powered, or engine kind of bike?”

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah nodded, chuckling at the back and forth between Jolene and Darren. "I've got a piano in the studio above the cafe, so no worries there."

"Muscle-powered, in this case." He replied to Guy. "I'm a little eh on driving in general, so I never really got into motorcycles."

Spicy: Spicy does the refill on the people who asked for one, finishing with Guy's cranberry juice, then return to the kitchen for a moment. Another person seems to be taking the shift over now, as Spicy comes out of the kitchen without the apron and other apparel after a bit. Grabbing the bag and moving to sit on the client side. "New shift, the other waitress will take over, cooking staff is still on fire too."

Jolene Logan: Her lips twitched, showing the momentary struggle to keep from out right grinning at the teasing between her and the tall, dark, and brooding man next to her. "I'm good." Usually if she needed a refill the first signs would be her eyeing Darren's drink. She was an imp. Looking to Jeremiah she nodded at the mention of the piano in the studio. "...seems like the sorts that come here, probably don't really do well becoming famous..." Wondering how something like that would play out, not that she wanted that for herself.

"I'm eh about driving too..." She confesses, but doesn't expand on any reasons why.

Guy Dagenham: “Driving is a strange thing. Bikes are like riding a horse, but very different,” he says with a nod, like that made perfect sense. “And yeah, most who come by here would prefer not to be on the public eye that way. Too many secrets.”

Darren Lynch: Darren returned, retaking his seat and looking back to the conversation. "Have you signed an album deal yet?" A joke about how quickly things escalated around her.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah took a few bites of his meal as the others spoke, looking towards Jolene at her mutual confession on that front and giving her a knowing nod. "Mmhmm. I stopped pushing for the spotlight myself for a number of reasons, but joining the strange and usual was part of it. Helping others to find that same joy on stage has been more fulfilling in the long run, though, so I'm not complaining too much."

Jolene Logan: She gave a huff "Of course not!" pause, waaaait for it "Three album deal, but you'll get a cut as my manager." she assures him utterly straight face, her own food abandoned half eaten, before finally breaking into a playful wolfish grin. Her too bright eyes glittering. Nodding to the others "It's what I figured, I'm not a spotlight sort on any real scale."

Spicy: "Yeah, it's part of why I don't particularly push super hard for my sculpting stuff. If I catch some attention, that could go weird for a lot of reasons." A shrug "Which is a shame, I'm putting my hand to other uses though now."

"As for record deals, I don't know, maybe you could make it work. I know there's a few youtubers with like, cartoon personalities or that are never seen on screen, that could be your angle, if you want to pursue that."

Guy Dagenham: Guy nods and drinks a bit. “Yeah...can’t do much public stuff myself. I’m lucky in that if I’m careful I can still go out, but there’s no way I could have a job or be famous.”

Darren Lynch: He looked across at Jo holding his gaze on her for a long quiet minute. They both knew the reasons she never could. Same as plenty of other stories. He'd reach over and squeeze her knee before he pressed his lips thin. "I've got to go. You'll be good?"

Jolene Logan: Her features softened for a moment under the gaze, under the reassurance, and she seemed to take a moment to debate if she would in fact be good. And slowly she nodded "Yeah...I'll call a car to get me home." She assures him with a faint smile. "You'll be good?" Turning the words in an entirely different direction.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah knew the look between the pair well, a small smile on his face when he gave Darren a nod. "Was good meeting you. See you around, maybe."

Spicy: "Well, there's always trying to look different, but that can only go so far, unless you got some special abilities to be honest." Spicy comments with a little nod. "Have a nice evening." she says to Darren as he stand up.

Guy Dagenham: “Have a good one,” Guy adds to Darren, before looking to Spicy. “Yeah, that’s true; my problem is more...accidentally revealing the supernatural, potentially. Hence the caution.”

Darren Lynch: Darren leaned and gave Jolene a kiss on her cheek. "Never," he said quietly. "Gentlemen," he turned and nodded, as he left money with Jo to pay, "Spicy. Thanks for the meal." And then he was on his way out of the portal.

Jolene Logan: She pressed her cheek into the kiss, watching him go before she seemed to remember herself, looking to the others. "I suppose there are masks and costumes and all that, but really, I don't think the limelight is for me. But hey, I'll still swing by the studio some time, who knows what might happen." A hand sliding to steal the rest of Darren's tea.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It's not always about the limelight, honestly." Jeremiah took a sip of his coffee, his tone going somewhat more serious as he continued. "Music for me has always been a safe refuge, something that I was able to bring with me since I moved around a lot as a kid. When I got to LA and tried to 'make it big' I lost sight of that and lost part of myself in the process. My introduction to the weird helped me to refocus on what really mattered, and helping others to be their true selves by expressing themselves in the best way they can has been part of that."

Spicy: Spicy grabs her big bag and stands from her chair and roll her shoulders. "Alright, I'm going to head out, get a workout in and maybe go to bed at a reasonable hours." (I.E. im being dragged to deal with food and some house stuff)

Guy Dagenham: Guy gives Spicy a salutatory wave, and a nod. “Thanks for taking care of us.”

He looks at Jeremiah a moment, as if deciding something, and nods. “It’s good to have something like that, and it’s nice that you’re sharing it with people.”

Jolene Logan: Her head swiveled at the mention of LA and her eyes settle on Jeremiah for a long quiet moment before she speaks. "Yeah...it was sorta like that for me, not the moving thing, but something that was mine, no matter what else was happening..." Her eyes shift to Spicy "It was great to meet you, I'm sure I'll see you around." Offering with an easy smile. (Thanks for the RP TUW)

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Have a good one, Spicy." Jeremiah lifted his coffee cup in a salute to the departing changeling before nodding to Guy. "I do my best. Opening the eyes of others to their own personal truths, even just a little, starts a spark that can really grow into something amazing with the right guidance."

He turned back to Jolene then, looking her over curiously. "Take it you were out west as well, judging by that look?"

Guy Dagenham: “That sounds like a profound goal, good luck.” He sips at cranberry juice as he looks to Jolene for her answer.

Jolene Logan: She gave a slow nod to the question, the subject still felt precarious to her, despite all the miles away from the city she was. "....grew up there." and that was really all she had to offer on the subject. The City of Angels, was home to everything that had gone wrong in her life, and even though she knew it wouldn't, she hoped all those wrong things would stay there.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Thanks. So far so good." He nodded to Guy, then looked at Jolene. His features softened at the obvious wariness around the topic, giving her a small nod. "Was out there from '09 to 2015 when I came here. Had my eyes opened in 2013 after a really bad wreck, hence the 'eh' on driving these days."

Guy Dagenham: Guy nods somberly. “We’re all running from things, kind of the state of it, isn’t it?” He sighs softly and looks down at his cup a moment. “But, have to keep moving on, you know?”

Jolene Logan: She nods slowly at that "Left back in July....but I was born with my eyes open." Which wasn't terribly surprising, their shade teetering on a blue deep enough it had violet notes, and they bright, too much gleam. She was playing with a goldish coin, nothing fancy, just fidgeting. Her eyes flick towards Guy at his words "Running from or running too." Was all she offered by way of answer. Her eyes flicking back to Jeremiah "I should head out, but I'll take your number if that's cool." Having no idea Vic had already given him hers!

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Mmhmm. Rebuild the Foundation as best as you can and keep moving up." Jeremiah replied to Guy, nodding to Jolene with a smile. " Sure. Vic gave me your number already, but I can give you one of my cards."

Guy Dagenham: Guy stands to head to the counter and pay. “Great meeting you two, have good nights. Pleasure to meet you, Jeremiah.”

Jolene Logan: She nodded and would take one of the business cards, thinking it might be time to look into keeping a burner phone too, just in case. It's only paranoia if no one is looking for you after all. "Gentlemen." rapping a counter with knuckles, trying out one of Darren's trademark gestures before heading out.
