Captain Mary Zimetti of the Women's Auxilliary Air Corps served during WWII, flying cargo and passenger missions out of the Lehigh Valley. She had Generals and members of the Cabinet in her DC-10, and as woman pilots went in those days, was highly regarded and highly decorated. Often remarked as being 'a fine example of what women soldiers are capable of within the modern air corps'. Then her plane disappeared over western Penssylvania in 1944, along with the rest of her formation. Fearing what might come of the discovery of the loss of a whole flight of craft over the heartland of America in the midst of war, the entire affair was brushed under the rug. People were bought off that needed buying off. People disappeared that needed disappearing. The War Cabinet and the Truman administration continued to prosecute the war according to plan, and over the years it all just faded from memory.
Something something and then Mary awoke.
Something something and her shadowname is Persephone. And she's always been married to a robot named Mark One, they're very much in love. Everyone knows that. Mark was there when we rescued Mary from... something. Something.
She is an Acanthus, has been around for years, but is seemingly fresh in her understandings. And lately she just doesn't seem to remember all the things she ought to. Not that anyone else is having much luck coming up with all the details, either.
