Player Profile

  1. Player Name/Pronouns: Solstice, they/them
  2. Character names and pronounses: Mearcstapa, he/him (though he doesn't actually have a strong preference, it's just a default); Phaedra Lamb, she/her; Lif Loracks, they/she
  3. Content warnings required or triggers to avoid in RP
    1. Nazis or the Holocaust (strong generational trauma, will throw me out of 'play' mode and into panic)
    2. Harm/violence toward pregnant women; graphic birth scenes; NPCs whose defining feature is their pregnancy, especially at a loss of their personal agency (allow me to avoid this, please)
    3. Graphic descriptions of maggots. Casual mention is fine, but gifs, videos, detailed description are a strong squick
    4. Homophobia/transphobia in plots (warn)
    5. Self-harm due to depression, suicide (warn, I will likely bow out of plots where this is a theme)
      1. Note: this does not include 'I have claws and am not being careful' types of self-harm. This is deliberate actions to self-harm due to mental health.
    6. OOC emotional blackmail is a hard red line for me. I'm aware a lot of the other people playing here have mental health concerns, but commentary about 'I'm leaving unless you reach out and ask me to stay' is unhealthy for me to interface with OOCly, and pretty rough ICly
  4. Experiences or topics I'd like to engage
    1. "Look, I found the plot, let me bring it to you all!" I really feel special when poking at the setting produces something I can get other players involved in; I like playing characters who are particularly perceptive or who might have expertise in a specific area, or social merits among different groups, in the hopes of getting to be the obnoxiously eager dog barking "plot! plot!" for all the players to hear and get involved with.
      1. This is extra-super cool when I get to connect the dots between a plot and a character who would be really suited to get involved in it
      2. This is totally related to my love language of "I saw this cool thing and it made me think of you, so I'm sharing it with you"
    2. Deep investigative plotlines with rabbit holes to fall down; I am someone who really enjoys using downtimes to sniff around things and get details before running a planned scene, if that's appropriate to the plot in question
    3. Opportunities to show off the research I have put into my character (more applicable to Mearcstapa right now); while I obviously don't know everything about what I build my characters for, I am known to pick character concepts based on hyperfixations for my ADHD. For example, if you're an ST calling for a Larceny check from Mearcstapa, I'll feel really cool if you let me talk a bit about what tools and techniques he's using on a successful check, instead of just 'okay, you get it open, here's what happens'
    4. Scenes that involve deep meaningful conversations about the supernatural, plot development, etc. I can get tired of fluffy casual coffeeshop stuff, and like to sink my teeth into the themes of the Chronicles of Darkness
    5. Heist plots/scenes (especially with Mearcstapa)
    6. Moments where IC tension is undercut by clear communication and giggling about what dipshits our characters are OOCly
  5. Experiences or topics I want to avoid
    1. Chasing my tail, plotwise. If I am prodding something where you-as-ST just don't have anything to explore, please feel free to let me know OOCly instead of giving me an IC 'you find nothing here at this time', as I've been known to take those as indication that I'm just not using the right skills, tools or method for investigation, leading to frustration for both me and the ST when I keep trying to find the correct way to come at it
    2. I do not want any of my characters to be blood bound without extensive OOC discussion with the other player.
    3. I am a sex-repulsed asexual IRL, and will always fade-to-black if a scene gets sexy
    4. Any instance of a character falling instantly in love with mine; relationships are squishy and messy and realism regarding that suits me better than something perfect and instant
    5. Very linear plots with One True Answer; I strongly prefer a sandbox to a railroad
    6. People taking a plot I brought to them, and then cutting me out of it ICly. While I understand that OOC circumstances may make it hard to coordinate with a group for a scene, I'd at least like to have my characters kept sort of in the loop about plots I've shared around, if you go poking around on them
      1. This is at least partially about being sure they're checked off on my mental checklist if resolved
  6. You can make me feel included as a player by...
    1. Having your character ask questions about mine
    2. Reaching out for smaller group/individual scenes. I can't live on large coffeeshop/bar scenes alone!
    3. Coming up with interesting ways our characters could meet up, based on either of our RP hooks
    4. Letting me know OOC when your character has talked about mine behind their back. It is an ego-stroke to know my character is worth mention when they're not in the room
