The woods outside of the city

Log

Edward:
If one was walking in the woods this night, a strange sound could be heard if you paid attention. Like the tune of Young Frankenstien a lone melody haunts the wind, lazying on a tree branch and playing his violin, Edward let's out a melody of apprehension and dread, smiling to himself and hoping some dumb kid decided to have a 'blair witch project' tonight, a good laugh was in order.

Micah Bradley:
After having digested dinner, Micah had decided it was time to get back into his full training routine, so he had set off towards the nearest woods dressed in simple running pants and a dryfit hoodie. He set off running through the woods, jumping over tree roots and bushes, zooming around trunks or other obstacles with the ease of a muscular wild cat.

He had been running for about 10 minutes straight when he came upon a melody drifting in the wind through the woods. He slowed down to a jog before stopping and standing still to figure out where the music was coming from. The Avowed started walking in that direction...

Edward:
From his vantage point he could make out someone running in the woods, oh to be young again, but this made him only play more, hopefully try to inspire some sense of dread in the individual, who knows what horrible beasts and monsters prowl the place

Micah Bradley:
A shiver runs down Micah's spine as he heard the music increase in volume and in intensity as he neared the source. He grinned at the feeling, excitement building up within him. Was this one of Them? Here to try to take him? To try to bait his Great Grandfather back into the arms of his once Keeper? Well, They're going to have a hard time catching him in the first place.

Hair standing on end and body tense and ready to dart away at the first twitch of his instinct, the man slowly approached the tree where the music was loudest. "I know you are up there. No need to hide." he called out, all his senses on alert.

Edward:
Edward raised an eyebrow and looked down, from the distance his snow-white hair visible, his clothes all black and blending with the shadows, "Oh?," he calls down, "No one's hiding, I'm just taking an enthusiastic sit in the woods, he shrugs and jumps down, a bit more graceful than a normal person and. . .are those elf ears, "With whom do I have the pleasure?"

Micah Bradley:
Micah flinches just a touch as the violinist jumps down. He was ready to run if this was a dangerous individual... And he still was, his body poised to jump away at any sign of danger. "Hi there. You can call me Micah. A little bit late for a violin practice. Does the cold not bother you? I was not aware that cold temperatures were good for the violin."

Edward:
Ed chuckles and the chill breeze blows, like an autumn night, "Not that late, night's young and I find it calms me." he says, walking around Micah in a circle, yup those are totally elf ears, "Now, don't you think it's a bit dangerous to be in the woods, who knows what you might find, a lone wolf, an axe killer, teenagers!" he says the last thing like it's the most horrifying thing in the world, "They scare the living shit out of me."

Micah Bradley:
He grinned in response to the chuckle and began circling too, keeping the stranger with elfin ears at a very long distance. "Oh sure. But I doubt a lone wolf will want to fight someone like me. I am a pretty big guy. Now Briarwolves... Yeah, though are tougher..." he shot back, taking a chance, a risk to identify this stranger. If they were not Lost or someone of that world, then they wouldn't understand what Briarwolves were.

"As for axe killers or teenagers, pfft. They wouldn't stand a chance. Not much scares me."

Edward:
face doesn't give much, "Briarwolves. . .now where did you hear something like that." he asks with a cock of his head, "So your not afraid of Jason or Micheal, that's not that wise, and Teens are some of the meanest fuckers you'll ever meet," he shrugs, "But I digress, Ed." he says simply, "And mind telling me what you know of Briarwolves?"

Micah Bradley:
"Jason or Michael? I don't think I know those fellas... I've met teens many times, they can be mean sure, but they can also be the coolest kids ever. Ahah, so you understood me, Mr. Ed. Tell me then, are you one of Them?" he asked in return, emphasizing on the last word spoken. He knew They would most probably lie, but he might as well ask, just to see their reaction...

Edward:
he just stares at him, blinking, "Friday the 13th, Halloween." he says before stopping, 'one of Them', that earns a bit of a scowl, "And what do you mean by Them," he asks, "The Kindly Ones, The Fair Folk, those who watch from the woods and the in-between places," he takes a step with each descriptor, "Maybe I am, maybe I'm here to snatch you away to Faerie Land, never to be seen again."

Micah Bradley:
That scowl set Micah on edge instantly. Uh oh, did he just anger one of Them? With each step Edward took, Micah stepped back. And at the last sentence, the confirmation that maybe, just maybe, he was indeed there to steal Micah away like They stole his Great Grandfather away all those years ago, sets in and his brain processes it.

"Then I will have you know that I will never be caught by the likes of you!" he declared in determination, turned and ran off as fast as his legs could carry him...

Edward:
Ed just raised an eyebrow and watched him run, "Oh. . .I thought he'd stay. . ." then a grin on his face, "Well. . .I best apologize." he gives a whistle with his fingers, from the shadows comes a mount, where most would see a black bike, if Micah would turn he's see a steed of smoke and shadow, as it runs Edward jumps atop him, "Let's make amends Llamrei." he cries as he rides after him

Micah Bradley:
Micah didn't pause, charging off and leaping over obstacles smoothly to get as far away from one of Them. Hearing the sounds of a beast that had clearly come from the Hedge only spurred him to run faster...

Edward:
With wild grin on face, Edward spurs Llamrei on, "I just want to talk!" he shouts as the steed gains speed, yet maybe scaring this lad out of the woods is a good thing, he knows about Them so maybe he'd attract them, all in all this was why he joined the Leaden Mirror, to keep folks away from the Hedge, "Thought you where a brave one."

Micah Bradley:
"Brave does not mean stupid!" he yelled back over his shoulder as he swerved to change the direction of his flight. Well, if the Gentry had a steed, then he would have to use nimbleness to get away.

Edward:
Ed tried to keep on him, but the strategy worked as expected, Llamrei had speed but was a horse still, and the tree's and branches needed a nimble body to work around, soon Ed had rear him, "Easy friend," he says to his loyal companion, "It's alright, we did good work." he says as the horse stops, he looks to lad, "I hate being taken for one of the bastards. . .but it's for the best, maybe he'll stay out of the woods for now. . .oh fuck if he goes to the waffle house it'll be akward." the horse neighs, "Oh come one, I thought It was rather fun, I'm sure he'll forgive me if we cross paths again," another niegh, "Fine, we'll get you an apple."

Micah Bradley:
Micah knew he won when the sounds of the thumping hooves stopped and eventually all was silent. Still, he continued running. You never really know with the Gentry. He did not want to find out. Man, what a night! He got in his practice alright! The Avowed headed back into the city as quickly as he could, taking long winding routes back to his apartment just in case.
