"To reach a port we must set sail –
Sail, not tie at anchor
Sail, not drift."
― Franklin D. Roosevelt

Location: Asbury Park, New Jersey
History: Cape May used to house an old, proud Freehold. Until September 2, 1983, when a massive Wyrdstorm rose up out of the Hedge ocean and swallowed the Freehold whole. Nothing of the old seaside Freehold Hollow was left, most of their personal Hollows and Trods washed away... and those who had been inside them. Some of the survivors fled to inland Freeholds. Others... they refused to be chased away from the sea. They traveled to higher ground, carving out a new Freehold in Asbury Park, NJ. It remains a very small Freehold of only a dozen or so Lost. They are strong, stubborn, resourceful, and if you believe the rumors of the other Freeholds—fucking crazy. They embrace their dangerous lifestyles. The Freehold as a whole tends to focus more on tending to the Hedge/fae side of their lives than the mortal side, which only enhances the rumors of them being more than a little weird and unhinged. A member of Stone Pony has only proven themselves when they do something noteworthy enough to earn a second name, which embodies their legendary deeds.
Crowns:

  • Spring: Blake Skylar/Stormcaller (Zie/zir, Elemental Nightsinger) - Blake is intense. Nothing zie does is ever done simply. All zir emotions are felt as if it's zir last. Zie loves passionately, laughs with the boom of thunderclaps, hates violently, and celebrates revelously. Zie is a force of nature, and uses zir booming siren-like voice to call up storms—or command them. Zir legend is built around zir ability to hedgespin the sea through song. Zie has high Wyrd. Breena’s twin.
  • Summer: Breena Skylar/Shipbreaker (She/her, Darkling Dryad) - Breena is paranoid. She’s not very good with people, coming off as prickly and suspicious at the best of times, always looking over her shoulder, always looking for threats to jump out of every shadow. She pushes the other Summers—and the rest of the Freehold—to their limits every day, dedicated to making sure everyone is prepared to fight. She owns several mortal-side sailing companies: fishing and shipping. She earned her name after leading a battle that absolutely destroyed a fleet of pirate privateers. Blake's twin.
  • Autumn: Joseph Bay/Serpent's Bane (He/him, Ogre Nymph) - Joseph thrives on fear. He’s always looking for the next adrenaline high, the next thrill, the next terrifying near-death adventure. He comes off ditzy and shallow, acting more like a laid back surfer bro than a Monarch, but he can be terrifying when he needs to be. He's the newest Monarch, still stretching out his fins. He got his name after racing a sea serpent and winning. Then supposedly wrestled it into submission?
  • Winter: Riptide/The Selkie Queen (She/her, Fairest Hunterheart) - She rules with an iron grip, hiding all of her emotions behind a mask of cold fury. There’s no room for softness and mercy when the nights are so cold and dark. Her legend is built around her brutality, shown most prominently when she ripped out the throat of the previous Winter Crown after they were discovered to be a traitor.
