Oh She's Still Practicing...

Lola still helps people, treating those who can't afford hospitals; be it due to money, insurance, legality question. She's long since learned that it's easier to get ahold of 'holistic' supplies than a lot of legal medical supplies and so she supplements her practice with her garden. Friends on Both Sides

Lola has friends on both sides of the law. Neighborhood ties go deep and family is family. She's taken care of a lot of people, and their families, and no matter what divides, few people ever forget the 'miracles' wrought by the woman.

Safe Space...

Safety is never a guarantee in this world, but while violence may result in injured people at her door, they always get hurt somewhere else. The neighborhood protects their own, and no one wants to risk the woman, be she doctor or witch, when there are so few options for those who fall between the cracks.

...But Not Just Medicine

It's not just that Lola is known for combining holistic approaches with more modern medicine, it's that she's known for balancing life, death, and many of the things that fall in between. But everything has a price, and saving a life isn't free....what would you pay? Money? Gifts? Debts?....five years of your own life to bring your beloved back from the edge of death? A coma to spare your child from a terminal illness? Life is expensive, and while she will barter in most currencies, in the most grave of cases, sacrifices must be made.

The Knife Witch. A name she picked up early in her time being a street doctor, but her reputation has only grown over the years.
