with annotations by Ari and Buide

These are fairly straightforward, or we have attempted to make them so. Use just a little common sense. - Ari

A great deal of things are not listed here which are expected -- we did not list everything that a person is expected to do or everything a person is expected to not do as laws. Hospitality, helping keep the trods clear, helping your fellow Freeholders -- those things we expect because of the social contract. We did not encode them into the Laws. Do them anyway. We only survive if we all survive. - Ari

The Right to Breathe Free

No Lost shall willfully assist Them or Their agents for any reason.

Willfully is the key word here. - Buide

The Right of Freedom

All Lost have the right to freedom. No Lost shall willfully enslave, help to enslave, capture, hold, or kidnap another Lost or human.

We know what we all escaped from. Helping the Others to enslave us, assisting a third party in holding one of us in thrall... you can't do it. Of course, this means if your motleymate has an opioid problem, you can't lock him in your apartment, either. Freedom sometimes means the freedom to hurt yourself. It sucks, but that's the truth. - Ari

The Right to Dream Free

All have the right to dream free. No Lost shall willfully twist the dreams of another without their consent. Destroying the dreams of a mortal is a capital offense.

This means literal dreams. If you break up with someone and she says "you destroyed my dreams," you aren't going to get into trouble. Don't go raiding human dreams and you'll be fine. - Ari

The Right to Continuity

Shackamaxon works because of its continual existence. All Lost residing in Philadelphia will Oath to Shackamaxon Freehold. Hiding a Lost from the Freehold or failing to disclose to the Freehold officers the presence of a new Lost after 24 hours is an offense against the Freehold.

If you find a fresh one, you need to tell us. Privateers play possum all the time. - Buidhe

The Right To Consensus

No change to these laws may be enacted without the consent of the ruling Crown and one other, or all three non-ruling Crowns.

Just in case. - Buidhe
