The Roebling Wire Works is a historic building in downtown Trenton which has become home to the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market--and The East Edge Market. The traveling Market visits every two months, right when the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market does. The Market travels around to other neighborhood Freeholds, and is known as a neutral entity, making no permanent alliances and oaths, but promising that the Lost of Shackamaxon can shop their wares safely. Of course, other strange things also shop at the Market--including, at times, agents of the True Fae.

To enter the Market, merely walk through the mundane market, past the displays of taxidermy and soap, punk t-shirts and cassettes, patches and pins, and step over the rope that closes off the ramp to the indoor/handicapped bathroom. Spend a Glamour, whistle or hum a couple bars of 'I wanna be sedated' and step past the guard--not into the bathroom supply closet but the East Edge Market.

The Market is guarded by balls of whirling gears that roll here and there, made of all manner of metal--brass, copper, steel, gold, some rusted beyond recognition. Some tiny, patrolling and alerting far larger automatons if there is any trouble. Vardos, booths and tents back up to one another, creating a tight maze that one can easily get turned around in.

The leader of the East Edge Market is an eccentric hob called Cogsworth The Tinker. He's rarely seen in public, preferring to keep to himself so he can focus on his work--creating automatons. Instead he leaves managing the Market to his assistant and creation: Roomba, a frazzled robot made from mix-matched bits of machinery, cogs, and even pieces of human bone. They can frequently be seen darting around the Market, doing their best to deal with complaints, accidents, and disputes.

Rules of The East Edge Market

1) Do not steal.
2) Do not tamper with the automatons.
3) Human trafficking is not allowed.
4) Fighting is not allowed within Market grounds, unless approved by Cogsworth.
5) White and red accessories, including shoelaces, are outright forbidden.
6) The Market closes at sundown, any uninvited guests at night are considered trespassers.

Those who break these rules are subject to Cogsworth The Tinker's punishment, which may include: permanent banishment from the Market, dismemberment, death, or rumored in one case, full access to the contents of your internet browser's history for the past year.

Common Vendors

The following are hob vendors that are commonly found in The East Edge Market. They are not the only vendors you may find--merely faces you will see frequently. Of course, there may be times when they do not appear for plot reasons.

  • The Gloop: A large glass tank filled with swirling pastel-colored sentient liquid, two floating eyeballs bobbing around within the contents. The Goop primarily deals with Goblin Contracts and memories.
  • Billybrig Bigbritches of the Brigsport Bigbritches: A squat, round hob with massive mole-like clawed hands perfect for digging. He wears a pair of tattered jeans that are pulled up to just below his chin, as well as a big floppy hat. He mans a stall piled high with fruit and jars of fruit jam, which he claims his very large family lovingly farmed, scavenged and preserved themselves. There's a Bigbritches in every Market, don'cha'know!
  • Two-Timing Ted's Token Stacks: Ted is a towering, thugish hob with two heads, one of which always seems to be on the lookout in a shifty, paranoid way. His tokens and oddments are all piled up within crates and boxes, with a couple smaller hobs lurking nearby, looking like at any moment they’d all be prepared to grab everything up and run off.
  • Mother Mantis: A human-sized hob that looks like a human evolved into a praying mantis. Her skull is elongated, hands and arms far too long, and has pale green skin. She rests inside a dirty tent that swirls with glittersmoke and draped with old silks. She claims to know a little about a lot or a lot about a little, especially things that are lost, yearned for, and sought after. But she always has a steep price for her knowledge.
  • Peppy-Peta's Animal Adoptions: Tucked into a corner of the Market are stacked cages and wood pins where hedgebeasts and mounts seeking good homes can be adopted. It's run by an overly cheerful and wide-smiling, frog-like hob that always sits on the back of a large blank-eyed goat. You need only pay a reasonably priced adoption fee!
  • Auric Spinner: A beautifully handsome human-looking hob(?) with long, Rapunzel-like golden hair. They lounge inside a brightly colored vargo where they knit the Market's most beautiful Hedgespun--woven from a strand of their own hair. They're flirty, friendly and love to gossip.
  • Randy Rancid's Revolting Rarities: A tent packed full of... dead things. Jewelry made of bones, whole skeletons, fetuses in jars, dried organs on strings, taxidermy critters--the works. What purpose do they have? Depends on who you ask. Some say they can be used for protection, or given to others to curse them, or house other strange and unique magical qualities. Or maybe you're just buying dead things for the hell of it, we don't judge. The tent is run by a strange putrid-smelling creature made from patched together pelts, animal bone and human bits, creating a hunched-backed werewolf-ish creature. Despite it's appearance, it's quite kind and polite.
