New Ordo Dracul Chapterhouse

Log

Floretta Williams: Floretta had sent a message to Daniel to meet her at a specific address, a letter left at where would be convenient for him to find it.

She's waiting right at the front door after getting confirmation. It's an old house which has been renovated and worked on, hiding behind a hedge and a fence with windows heavily obscured.

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel arrived promptly as was his wont, advising Floretta that he was nearby as he parked his car and headed for the building in question. He looked it over curiously before spotting the Gangrel and giving her a polite nod. "Evening."

Floretta Williams: "Hey Daniel, wanted to show you something I've been working on." Floretta walks toward him and greet him with a pat on the shoulder and then turns around to move toward the door, producing the key from the pocket of her red long coat.

"Thought you might be interested, as one of us who's worked well with the wizards before."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Oh?" Cue a curious arch of the eyebrow as he moved to follow her inside. "Do tell."

Floretta Williams: "Welcome to the Wyrm's Rest." Floretta gives a specific knock on the door and whispers something to the lock before putting the key into it. "A secondary location I've been working on for a while."

The door opens onto a house that is definitely not standard in terms of arrangement or even roommate. There are various paintings, symbols, materials, writing on the paperwalls. The furniture even follows this thematic, while allowing some comfort too.

"It's a place I've been making and discussed with the other higher ups. It's meant to be a place where work with other factions can occur. Tests, powers, creations."

Daniel Hawthorne: The second eyebrow joined the first in an upward motion as Daniel saw the space within, the gears turning almost visibly as he got a good look at the place. "Interesting...something of a cross-specialty laboratory, as it were?"

Floretta Williams: "Yes, provided we can get others to work with us." Floretta explains and smile. She goes deeper into the home, sitting down into a couch. "I'm planning on a library and some repository to complete it, like what's at the Moshulu."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I can do my part to get the word out on that front." He claimed a seat beside Flo on the couch, taking off his shades to reveal the pitch-black eyes behind them and pocketing them for the moment. "I've been speaking with a few more of the willworkers lately at Maddy's, and I can think of one in particular who'd likely be interested."

Floretta Williams: "Would love to meet 'em!" Floretta grabs a book from one of the nearby shelf, reviewing it, considering it from up close. "Do what you can."

"Also, I'm never calling them willworker, I'm calling them wizards." She chuckles.

Daniel Hawthorne: "You might have already, since they seem a pretty gregarious sort. Goes by Bones in the magical community?"

"That works too." He chuckled in kind. "With every interaction I have with them I'm blown away by what they're able to accomplish, I won't lie."

Floretta Williams: "I might have heard of the name, but not met them, I've been busy here for a while." Floretta explains, rolling a shoulder.

"And if we can help each other, then we may be able to accomplish something more."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Indeed. If one of them was able to do this," he motioned towards his eyes briefly, "I can only imagine what we might be able to accomplish combining their abilities with what we can do through the Coils."

Floretta Williams: "I wonder if we can assist their magic in some fashion." Floretta ponders, writing something down on her phone. "Speaking of coils, have you gotten further along some of the paths you were investigating?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "Worth looking into, for sure." He nodded. "I have. I was able to master the third tier for the Coil of Blood recently, along with continuing to progress with the other Disciplines I know as well."

Floretta Williams: "I may be looking into growing more combat ready. I've been looking into boosting my strength, my vigor and maybe the Wyrm."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I've been holding off on exploring that facet of things, I'll admit, due to the more delicate touch my work needs at times. The speed and resilience enhancements have been helpful, though."

Floretta Williams: "Being a Gangrel, it's not particularly difficult for me to reach for the resilience." She flex her arms.

"The rest is more complicated honestly."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Vigor is more in-line for me, actually, but the others were worth putting the effort into. I'm close to mastering both of the other family abilities as it were, though."

Floretta Williams: "My bloodline's blessed me with Obfuscate too, so that's helpful for safety." Floretta chuckles a little bit. "So I can hug people from the shadows."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Nice." He nodded with a chuckle. "That one's always handy if I get stuck in a conversation at a show or whatnot and want to duck out quietly."

Floretta Williams: "Oh yeah it's a multi-utility tool for sure." Floretta stretches a little bit. "Managed to hide the ball from Herbert at one point. He didn't find me, but he yelled at me for hiding it."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I bet." He smirked, sitting back in his seat. "Victoria's been bandying about the idea of getting a cat, which I'm not opposed to."

Floretta Williams: "Who's victoria? I feel like I should know that, but I'm not sure who it. I wanna say... your sister?" Floretta wonders aloud

Daniel Hawthorne: "My sister, yes." He nodded with a small smile. "Don't think you two have properly met yet, though; should fix that at some point."

Floretta Williams: "I don't think I did no." Floretta smiles lightly. "So, that would be nice, is she in the know?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "She is. We grew up together under my former regnant's care, although she's a good decade younger than me. We've always been close, though, and after everything happened she was the only one who still saw me for me rather than something to be pitied." He let out a quiet breath, running a hand through his hair. "I needed that, more than I would admit at the time, and I'm thankful she's here."

Floretta Williams: "Good, is she safe and all?" Floretta ask as she stand back up and start to look around for some of the details.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Mmhmm. I won't let anything happen to her if I have a say in it." He hopped up from the couch to join Flo in her wander, taking in the ins and outs of the new workspace. "I can tell you've put a lot of work into this. Is there anything in particular you're needing that I can chip in with?"

Floretta Williams: "If you really want to help, be aware that it's intended as a public place." Floretta says with a nod. "Expanding the haven features and finishing some of the latest features." (Haven, Safe Place)

Daniel Hawthorne: "Gotcha...can definitely help with that."

Floretta Williams: "I wonder if people from other area would appreciate the chance to maybe, work on ameliorating the place in their own ways?" Floretta ponders. "I don't know that we'd benefit from it much, but, hey, that could be a good way to make this feel homey."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Not a bad idea." He nodded in return. "Is this place a Nest as well? Depending on the type that might pull some folks in."

Floretta Williams: "It's a Perilous one, there's a ghost around here that I got to help me. I can have it kick people out." Floretta moves to another room, that's mostly empty.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Ah, handy." He gave another nod, glancing around the room. "Wager some folks may be interested in that."

Floretta Williams: "Wonderful." Floretta rubs her hand together a few times, as if looking for heat.

"I'd like to vet people a little bit too, just to avoid massive problems."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Naturally. It's still a place of power that's ours, we're just letting others use it in tandem."

Floretta Williams: "It's also a test to see if we can trust others, if not, well, then I guess I'll have to run away somewhere to hide from everyone." Floretta says with a grin, clearly not that worried.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Hopefully that won't be the case." He chuckled quietly. "The community here is already well-inclined to work together, and I'd bet that if we set up the rules of use properly we should be fine."

Floretta Williams: "I thought about maybe letting other covenant come and help too, but, like, I don't know how... pleasant that would be, since I don't have any authority over any of those people."

Daniel Hawthorne: "True, but I'd say the same thing would apply: they're guests of the Academy here, and making a mess for no proper reason would still have repercussions."

Floretta Williams: "Yeah but how do I enforce them without authority..." Floretta ponder, crossing her arms. "I suppose I could try to get it approved as a sort of Elysium?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "Maybe, or we could just run it by overall agreement like the diner. Far as I know those rules aren't magically enforced, just handled by the staff and the owner."

Floretta Williams: "Oh yeah... I suppose that could work. I doubt we'll be as popular though." Floretta chuckles lightly there. "Not quite as good making pancake."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Could always set up a little kitchen or something if we have the space; would be good for the folks who actually have to eat." He offered with a smirk.

Floretta Williams: "I have a fridge with beer and other beverages, the kitchen's kind of nice looking." Floretta opens the door to it, which combined to dining room too. "It lacks chairs though."

Daniel Hawthorne: He nodded with approval as he looked over the kitchen and dining room beyond. "Can hunt those down easily enough."

Floretta Williams: "I don't think they run very fast, you're right. Even if they have four legs." Floretta replies with an exagerated smile.

Daniel Hawthorne: He actually laughed at that, shaking his head with a smile. "Too true..."

Floretta Williams: "I wonder if the swivel chairs and computer chairs go faster because of the wheels."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Have to wonder. Maybe we can prod one of the mages to pull a Sorcerer's Apprentice and test it out."

Floretta Williams: "Or maybe we could find mimics." Floretta grins at the idea. "Big sticky chests..."

She blinks "Yep..."

Daniel Hawthorne: He chuckled at the minor innuendo, smirking. "Can save those for the folks who get uppity, maybe."

"That is a question, admittedly: what sort of security do you have in mind for the place?"

Floretta Williams: "The ghost accounts for it and I do have the basic security plan. I might go find a bear somewhere and ask it nicely." A beat.

"Or maybe I'll ask Guy to put on a Gritty suit."

Floretta is somewhat more smiley now too, the laugh earlier seem to have lifted her mood further up.

Daniel Hawthorne: "...that would be amusing. He might actually agree to that, too." He smirked, the mental image an amusing one indeed. "Wager we can come up with something more thorough if needed, though."

Floretta Williams: "Well yeah, of course." Floretta nods. "Just gotta make sure the security doesn't get turned on us though really."

"Not that it would...."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Indeed." He did knock on the nearest wood fixture just in case, though. "I think if we pitch it right and get the right people involved the folks who do their work here will behave themselves."

Floretta Williams: "Let's hope so! Thanks for the offer of help." Floretta acquiesce and then moves toward the main room again.

Daniel Hawthorne: "You're welcome." He replied with a smile as he walked beside her. "It's a fantastic idea."

Floretta Williams: Floretta moves along. "Now, I think I'll go check the rates for furnitures and figure out more security systems."

"Need a ride anywh..." Floretta blinks. "Could you give me a ride to the Moshulu, I sort of came here without my car."

Daniel Hawthorne: "You bet." He held the front door for Flo all gentlemanly-like, letting her lock up as needed before leading the way to his car nearby, slipping his glasses back on once they were outside.
