Bones had been through multiple dimensions and multiple townships over the weekend...possibly even multiple timestreams. As such, she decided to walk through the front door of Maddy's, after a walk through the forest.
She wore hiking boots beneath heavy khakis and thick jean jacket. It was more about the durability of the clothing than the fashion or warmth.
Once inside, she swung by for her usual carafe and mug and mint creme before sitting at the corner booth.
She pulled out her perfected leather journal, perfected siderite pen and started taking notes for the day.
Izumi Masaki
-Umi for her part comes into the waffle house shortly after Bones. She was wearing an outfit with leather pants, heels, a black top that was partially see-through in the most flattering areas. A way that would be sure to enhance her attractiveness. She reaches up to push a few loose strands of hair behind her head as she makes her way over to the board for a moment. She looks at it and a mild expression of annoyance slips over her face for a few moments before she lets out an exasperated sigh. Then looks around the room and turns that frown upside down like emotions were simply something she was able to cycle through like a rolling film- "Evening to you!"
Bones
"What's wrong?" a tilt of her head as she studied Umi's emotional rollercoaster.
Then as the woman approached, she stood and smiled, "Hi! I'm Dr. Tommy SHanks. Folx sometimes call me Bones around here, if you hear that. Good Evening! Would you like to join?"
Izumi Masaki
"Oh just initially annoyed that I was asked to help Vinny here." -She thumbs at the note-
"With his little demon problem then he goes and 'solves' it himself. Not sure I believe what was posted here completely. Kinda stinks like 'something happened' and he decided to go a different route. I suppose if I really wanted I could find out but that's work that I don't feel like doing. Using that eye on something so mundane just isn't worth it."
-she'd simply shrug, her whole attitude about it comes off slightly annoyed but somehow at the same time she's fine with it which might be odd for most people but somehow feels natural to her. She makes her way over to the table and drops down across from Bones-
"Yeah sure, I go by Umi-Saki in the public or just Umi, my other name is Kaminari when doing "official stuff'."
Bones
"Oh. Vinny? Yeah, he asked my girlfiend and I about all the shit. I told them no. Not my gig... my organization is ... wait official name? The only ones that I know with different names and official names... Awakened?"
"Pleasure to meet you, Umi-Saki," and then she snapped her fingers, "Umi-Saki? The Cosplayer?" (edited)

"Guilty."
-Is her surprisingly carefree response to BOTH being asked if she was Awakened and if she was a Cosplayer-
"And you are the famous mythology professor, right? I know a thing or two about that, have to in my profession. Well I guess you don't but if you do a cosplay about that thing and don't know what the hell you're doing and someone asks you something, you're kinda screwed there."
Thespis
Out of the portal comes a sharply dressed man, Thespis has developed a fondness for the Cheese Omelettes here and has become a minor ritual, not an actual ritual mind you. After taiking his order he spots Bones and another, offering a friendly nod to the archaeologist
Bones
"Oh...yeah... all those articles now... ugh. I'm embracing the fame, a step at a time. It is useful against Space willworkers after all."
Bones fixed up her coffee with her mint creme and sugar.
As Thespis entered, even though Tommy's eyes were downcast at the drink, she lifted a hand in greeting.
"Well, more archaeology than ... but yeah I suppose. I've given a lot of lectures on the symbols of things like LIghtning across mythologies..."
Izumi Masaki
"There's someone behind me isn't there." -She replies when she sees the hand go up in greeting- "Oh yeah I'm working towards making my own thing but I need to find some people who have created theirs so I can make my own." -Vague and unhelpful, thanks Umi. She then looks over her shoulder and offers a wave towards the other person before her attention moves back to Bones-
"Yeah I'm going for a sort of theme after the Raijū, not sure how familiar you are with them but they're basically lightning beasts."
Thespis
he walks over with his eggs, offering a warm smile, "Always wanted to see one for myself, I knew someone who claimed to see a Nue somewhere," he shrugs, "Mind if I sit?"
Bones
She took a second and then nodded with a grin, "Ah yes, Raiju... thunder dogs... Raijin's pets..."
Izumi Masaki
"A dog would fall under that because it is a beast." -she nods sagely before her attention shifts towards Thespis- "Grab a chair or pick a side!" -She offers enthusiastically- "I tend to utilize what my name means when I'm out performing my duties for the Ungula." (Mages would know that word means "Talon") (edited)

"Thanks," he says sitting down, "I've met the esteemed doctor," he says nodding to Bones then looks to Izumi, "You I have not had the pleasure, Thespis." he says offering a hand
Bones
"I am part of the Wings, Umi-chan," a smile and a bob, before refocusing on Thespis, "How are you finding Philly?"
Izumi Masaki
-Umi starts speaking Japanese almost immediately, whether or not it can be understood by the other two at the current moment for whatever reason seems to have been lost to her. But if they can and yes, she does say ara ara- "My my, it's so odd to hear someone use 'Chan' to someone they've only just met. But I'm not opposed to it in any way shape or form."
-She then looks to Thespis, still speaking Japanese but Umi-Saki and Kaminari are two words that are fairly easy to pick out-
"I'm Umi-Saki or Kaminari in the Magical circles."
Thespis
he smiles, "I got Umi-Saki and Kaminari," he said and giving a small shrug, "I took Korean over Japanese in college, but I can learn." he taps his head, "Or I could use the built in translator." he laughs and turns to Bones, "I've been adjusting nice, finally set up my agency, got a good team of employees, I just need to find some clients and I've got a good starting point."
Bones
As soon as she started to speak in Japanese, magic flickered. A bob of her head as suddenly she understood about half of the first sentence, "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to offend you, Umi-Saki. I just think you're cute," and she laughed a little, before drinking her coffee some more.
They flicked their gaze back to Thespis, "Good employees? Or the start of a cult of employees, cloak and mask style?"
Izumi Masaki
"Oh. I some times auto divert into Japanese when I hear someone use those kinds of phrases. I think that you understood maybe the first sentence. I also said that I wasn't opposed to it in anyway shape or form."
-A look over to Thespis-
"I said my name is Umi-Saki or Kaminari in magical circles."
Thespis
"A little of column A, a little of column B," he shrugs, "I mean, I'm a mask and a warlock, I'd look naked without one." he chuckles before turning to Umi-Saki, "Between Raiju and Kaminari I take it Lightning holds some special symbolism to you?" he asks
Bones
"Sounds Obrimos," she wagered, holding her fingers up in a peace sign, with lightning crawling up and down them like a tesla coil.
"AM I right? I'm right, aren't I? Of course, I'm right."
Izumi Masaki
"I was struck by lightning and took that as a little bit of a sign." -she laughs- "So I embraced it and decided that I wanted to create something somewhat similar to the Tamers. But I need to find a few people who've done something like that themselves. And yes I walk the Path of the Mighty."
Thespis
"I awoke during a school play so I went with the father of actors." he admits, "Yes Bones, your right, my Agency is cover for a cult, happy, and no just being my client does not mean a person is in it, that'd be too easy."
Bones
"And yet, they're suppsoed to be the secret police..." she muttered.
Izumi Masaki
"I was going to say 'shit if we're just being plain I should drop the semi-vague speech I'm speaking' But yeah how long have you been working with the Visus? Most I know tend to be a touch more . . . secretive about their dealings."
Bones
"Don't say anything inside these walls that you wouldn't want a Seer or a Scelesti to hear. As long as they don't break the letter of the law of the bans... they can get in after all, but by and large, we are very open in the Diner. I myself am open because I hate pancryptia and do my best to not have to lie ever."
Thespis
he sips his coffee, "I mean, I'm a Mastigos and mask, even if I claimed not to have one, we'd all know I'd be lying," he gives a sly smirk, "Besides, if I'm honest of things people expect to be secret yet is a open secret. . .then most people won't look into the actual dirt." he says, leaving it at that
Izumi Masaki
"So there is some actual dirt there then." -she states casually, before looking to Bones- "So I can take it to mean that you don't lie then huh, Bones-chan?" -A small smile over her features then a small bite of her lower lip- "I know not everywhere is completely safe, it's why I try to speak a specific way in places I haven't been in or don't have an eye on constantly."
Bones
A blush and her smile spread once again, "I do my best not to lie. I've learned to lie to protect the Veil... including to mi Papi. I've learned to lie to protect my order... but by and large? I don't lie unless I see no other way."
Thespis
"I just don't want to waste time denying the obvious," he shrugs, "So. . .Seers and Scelesti are allowed,"he blinks a few times, "Forgive me but that sounds very unwise."
Bones
She lifted her hand and had the placard with the rules fly to it. She laid it down for Thespis and Izumi to read.
"They're pretty cut and dry for what is allowed."
Izumi Masaki
"I mean I'm not sure how the ban on this place is actually phrased. There's possibly a way to phrase it to disallow them or discourage them. But as far as them getting in, they could just send a impartial party in that's able to get past the ward and them come out and tell them what they discovered." -She glances at the card again- "Yeah the way this reads to me is; As long as you have no intention to attack someone you can get in and you follow the general rules of your society. Which I'm not totally familiar with the Seer's rules but they're pretty loose I think."
Thespis
he reads it, scowling a tad, "That's. . .well, if it works I guess." he says, not sure how to voice his thoughts on the matter, "I heard about the Riot, I understand the Libertines where involved?" he asks, disapproval clear in his voice
Bones
"While you are in the Waffle house or its land. You can break the laws in any other place.... and there are reasons."
THey flicked it back to the usual spot with a thought, and then sighed, "We did learn a lot about the Mark IIs. SO it was worth it, to some."
Izumi Masaki
'I wasn't there and so far only have the media report to go off of, which I personally don't believe at all. I think more went down there than what they reported and probably fucking minimalized the story to make it show the police in the best possible light. But that's just my natural dislike of media because . . . well I think we can all agree that a few networks have just one person at the top that tells the anchors what stories they can run and how they can word them."
Thespis
"Eye of Sauron." he says, as if that answer her comment, "It just feels. . .reckless, obvious, painting a target, not to mention the civilian factor, what if spells where needed, what if the worst happened and it became a massacre," he sighs and buries his hand in his face, "Too many variables, too much of a spot light, but I think they wanted that. . .I hope the information was worth it." "Almost like a pyramid," she agrees with Izumi.
"A Master Acanthus was there. A snap of fingers and the whole thing never happens, Thespis."
Izumi Masaki
"A Master of Time then huh? Well I need one of those so I can take the next leap. Like I said earlier, I don't usually use that eye except to check something very specific each week." -A small sigh- "I can't really comment on that uhh I think that they would've undid the whole thing then. At least that's been my understanding as I've used it through my life."
Thespis
"Yes, use of Time in a crowd of people, no way that can go wrong." he sighs, "Well, not my problem I guess, what did we find out about the mark II's?" (edited)

"That's a very good question."
Izumi Masaki
"Like I said, I wasn't there. That report would be MUCH different if I had been."
Thespis
he shrugs and point down his cash and generous tip, "Thanks for the info," he nods to Bones and turns to Umi, "It was nice meeting you, I got to get going, have to check on some things, be seeing you." he says walking off

To Umi,"I was occupied elsewhere that night or I think I might have gotten involved. My friends and girlfriend were all there."
Izumi Masaki
"Have a good night, catch you later."
"Like I said earlier, I'm a Talon. So it would've been a little more martial with me present. Or I would've just shut them all down."
Bones
"They're tougher than they look, and there seems to be different models for different missions."
Izumi Masaki
"You know how powerful Forces is at the Master level. We can reduce something to dust."
Bones
"And yet the city with the highest concentration of Nth degree Masters I've ever seen, is still having trouble with them."
Izumi Masaki
"I just want to have a good time and make sure the people I care about don't get hurt, Bones-Chan. Of course I do have ambition for other things but I think that's probably my main drive."
Bones
"And that's why you're in the Quiver. Makes sense. I'm more about why all the rules and things occur."
Izumi Masaki
"That's it? Here I thought that you were also super interested in artifacts and other archeological finds. Both normal and abnormal."
Bones
She wrote her number on a napkin and slid it to Umi. Labeled Tommy Chan with it.
"Atlantan artifacts to tell us how it all worked the way it did... But I need to get going."
(Battery dying)
Izumi Masaki
"I'll be sure to give you a call some time. Have a wonderful night." -She sends the phone a text with an emoji on it so Bones will have her number- (edited)
