Maddy's Waffle House, Consilium Hall

Log

Amelia had her head mostly on straight, kinda. So today she was lingering at Maddy's trying to meet more people.

She was eating another plate of Waffles, trying Bewitched today.

Wearing her usual leather jacket with blue accents, black jeans and some nice platform docs.

The Obrimos, in their male form, stepped through the portal. Once he did, their active spells, disappeared, as did the attainments for the most part. His gaze swept the room, as he adjusted his shirt cuffs to his elbow and undid his top button and tie. Overall, there could be a sibling resemblance to the feminine Bones that Amelia had previously met.

However, the same journal and pen were seen peeking from his pockets. It was them, the same, most likely.

Ordering coffee and also a bewitched plate, he started to approach the fellow academic, "Blue?"

Amelia raises their eyes looking at Bones with a titled head.

"Hey. Bones?"

"Si, mi amiga," a smile, "I use a bit of our arts to take the shape I feel each day, sometimes even throughout the day...." his gaze swept to the empty chair across from her and back to Blue, "May I join you?"

Amelia nods and then nods again at the chair.

"Of course, of course. Managed to get my head on a bit straighter."

He flopped in, seemingly going full rag doll in the process, before adjusting to a more comfortable position. A tilt of the head and a smile, "Happy to see you again, here especially. Did you meet anyone else yet? Did you announce oneself to the place I told you about?"

She shakes her head as she takes a few more bites.

"I met Jane last night when I was out for a run, that was nice, came across the portal in town. Got a bit anxious, was kinda hoping we could head there after lunch?"

A piqued brow and then a bob of his head, "Of course, of course! I'd be happy to do what I can to help facilitate introductions. I'm relatively new to town, but I've done many introductions of myself in many towns around the world in my travels."

As his food and drink arrived, he dug in like it was his first meal in a day... it might have been!

A smile as she continues to sip at her coffee.

"Thanks, im not exactly the best with social situations, especially when they are outside of my control or area of expertise. This kinda ticks all those boxes."

"It gets easier, but yeah, once you're introduced, there will probably be folx from all the groups looking to talk to you at least a little. Help get you aligned somewhere, to be welcomed and secure in company. You mentioned Jane? she recently got aligned with a group as well."

"Once I know up from down it'll probably get easier." She says with a chuckle. "Yeah I met Jane yesterday. Im sure there will be a million and one people to meet."

"Or at least a handful," a bob of that head, "or two maybe. And then when you join a group, the numbers go up more, I think..." his eyes glaze slightly as he goes back to his own joining the Mysterium.

Another chuckle. "I think I can manage that."

She finishes off her plate and continues sipping at her coffee.

He continued to dig in and finished surprisingly quickly, "Well. There's that...." he took the mug to the counter for a to-go style cup and paid... and happened to pay for Blue's as well.

There is a bit of surprise in her voice as she thanks Bones for that.

"Oh, thanks, you really didnt have to do that."

He waved it away and smiled, "Friends help. Let's go... portal will be swiftest, and then we can head towards the hall.

He guided the newly Awakened mage to the Hall itself, through the 'proper channels' for such things. A phone call ahead, just in case, and soon they were to the building and the hall itself.

Amelia follows along quite passively a little anxious about getting to the new location. She plays with her hair allot on the way.

As they entered the large hall, Tommy did a twirl around to look at everything, still so new to the city. A few newly familiar faces got a wave or a nod and he began the introduction of all the locations that they'd been made aware of... the Tree, Archives, Ministries, and the Chambers/Offices.

She is looking a little overwhelmed at the hall. So much information to take in. She takes in all the information taking note so that she can locate them going forward.

"Thanks for bringing me here. I appreciate it. This was a lot of info."

"I'm sorry. As you know, we academics can just regurgitate information from time to time. Were there any questions? I can't promise answers, but we can probably find the right people for them."

Amelia chuckles at that.

"Oh just so many of im honest. I want to know all the things I can. What is the function of the locations? Are we not just each under one banner?"

"There's a political body, the Consilium, that encompasses all of the orders here. And then the local native folx have their own group, that when needed, sits with the Free Council, sounds like, for official consilium matters... but you'd have to check with others more locally knowledgable... I described those orders last time I think. The most time that that I spend here is in the Archives, and second at the tree itself."

"So this is the hub where we all converge and then each group has their own go to place? Am I getting that right?"

"Yeah. Pretty much the way it goes. And then there's the non wizardy folx," a few brows of passerbyes at the wizards comment, "where I normally run into them is at Maddy's or just on the street."

"Is that people like Jane or regular sleepers? Where would Sleepwalkers sit under that?"

"Sleepwalkers, if they wish, join one of the orders for political matters. What I was referring to were the Vampires, Werewolves, Changelings, Undying, and whatever other variety of supernatural mortals or immortals exist... really it's..." he took a deep drink of the coffee... for some reason just as steaming as when it poured, "it's like every myth, legend, or story of what goes bump in the night is real, but probably not accurate, if that makes sense."

"Oh, yeah. Cool. Totally."

There is a big sigh and a shake of her head.

"Time to rework what I think about everything. Didn't know they existed."

Another pause.

"So people associated with our kind can come here. People that are weird but not Awakened we meet elsewhere. Often Mandy's for a good nuetrel ground."

"Yes. Because the political and other interests of the Living, Awakened, Magi aren't going to match the Undead Blood Drinking Vampires, and those won't match the people who escaped Faerie and Faeries to try and reclaim what was Lost.... however, this city and recent events draw us all closer together than any I've been in except Miami."

Klaire, meanwhile, was seated on a bench, Rook nowhere to be seen. She pours over a few notes in her lap, hair tied back for once, and in a comfy looking sweater and jeans. A steaming opaque cup sits on the bench next to her, and she takes the occasional sip as she works.

"OH! Kl--Psyche! Ro... no rook?" He paused toblink, taking in the input, but disbelieving it. Then looking over to Blue and back to Klaire, "Oh! Psyche is a Sleepwalker of the Free Council, like we were just discussing. They're a few weeks into the political side of it as well. Psyche, this is Blue, a newly Awakened Mage, so new that I brought her here to make introductions to the officials."

Blue waves awkwardly.

"Hi Psyche." A pause as she seems to take mental notes.

Muttered under her breath is.

"Sleepwalker, free council. Working. Likes hot drinks."

"Nice to meet you." A tilted head at the name, Psyche and Blue.

Klaire pauses from her work and looks up, a small smile as she spots Bones. She carefully turns the papers over, face down, on the bench.

"Hello Bones." A pause for the introduction. "Hello Blue. Yes I'm...fairly new as well. I hope you are adjusting well?"

She notes the note taking, a note note if you will. "Rook needed to stay at the house for this one. I need a bit more focus when I'm actually working a case. Sorry Bones, I'll bring him next time I'm around."

"Oh, good. I just was worried that they were injured. If that was the case, I was going to have you zap me to him to heal him," a smile and a bob of his head, "But yeah, new folx, mingle," he made a strange conjoining motion with his hands, until he realized what it looked like and stopped.

Amelia chuckled at that Without blinking saying.

"Mingle mingle mingle." Then a chuckle and looking at bones.

"Sorry I couldn't resist."

Klaire smiles. "I appreciate the offer and concern Bones, I'm glad you like him so much. But no, I'm quite capable of healing him myself if it comes to that."

She looks at the conjoining motion in confusion before turning to the newly Awakened. "So...hi Blue?"

A grin splits the blush across his cheeks, as Tommy spoke to Blue, "Oh, yeah. I'm about as socially proficient as I am at changing a car engine... or whatever it is called."

And then he rubbed the back of his head, the grin widening and his eyes squishing, "Oh... well, yep. See? Great at social introductions, that's me."

"Hi. Psyche. Nice to um meet you. Sorry I'm a little, lot, overwhelmed. Probably similar to how uou felt a while ago?" Her words are stilted and she touches her hair a lot

Psyche looks back and forth between the pair for a moment before giving a small smile.

"I had...a strange introduction we'll say. I've known about this side of things for a while but just...tried to not get involved."

"Why would you try not to get involved? That seems like limiting your available knowledge and growth potential?"

Psyche pauses, an uneasy look. "I had no reason to, I've come perfectly far on my own."

"Politics aren't for everyone. However, folx who are found to know things, get signed up to one of the known organizations, whether ours or the other bumps in the night."

Blue tilts her head. Confused at that.

"Oh. So something happened that gave you too much knowledge to remain independent?"

There's no judgement she just seems curious.

"Yes, she was stressed and let too much slip after I pushed...I have a knack for figuring things out anyway."

Klaire seems a bit defensive. "It took a fair bit of convincing for me to join."

"So she went to the least strict group in the Council."

There is a tilt of the head.

"It seems like the wisest choice then. This way she doesn't have to watch her tongue around you as much."

She looks between Psyche and Bones.

"Sorry. I can push a bit much sometimes."

Klaire's hand tightens a bit, and she looks away.

A pique of the brow, looking between the other two, and then scratching his temple, "Um. No. Klaire's partner is not me. I'm not... well... I am, butn ot with her but not because she's not pretty, but because she's like my niece or sister or something."

"Oh. Sorry. I wasn't insinuating that. I was just looking to Bones for support on how to remove my metaphorical foot from my throat."

Klaire sighs heavily before looking back.

"I'm a telepath, Blue. I specialize in finding out why people go missing...and my partner went missing. When she came back she was different, and so I dug around a bit too much. My partner is not at fault here." Blue looks away awkwardly.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to insinuate she was." "OH! OH!! Now my foot is somewhere in my stomach..." he plopped his head into his palms now, "ugh..."

To Klaire, muffled by his hands, "I suck at some of these introductions. I just should have been more obvious..."

Klaire takes a deep breath. "From the top then. Hello Blue, I'm Psyche, a Telepath Sleepwalker with the Free Council." She gestures for Blue to continue the train of thought.

Blue tilts her head. Still confused but continues.

"Hi Psyche. I'm Blue a Geometry Professor that has recently awakened and is currently not aligned with any order? Better?"

"Hey, that's better than I did. GOod job, mingling and all that."

Psyche smiles. "It's my job to know people and keep conversations civil. Geometry Professor? I will admit math is not my strong suit."

"So like the opposite of me? Math is my strong suit and I'm bad at talking."

She says with a feigned half chuckle.

"Well technically its my job to reassure family that their missing family member is safe, and then go prove myself right."

They happily watched the back and forth in the conversation, pulling at random dials in the air. Then some classical music started to play from the local radio station in the area where they conversed.

"Hmm." There is curiosity in her voice.

"Is that what happened with your Girlfriend? You told her family she was okay and then found her and then found out lots?"

Klaire pauses. "I don't want to talk about that."

He tilted his head and studied Klaire more, something feeling off since they last spoke.

Instead they tried to alter the line of discussion slightly, "Blue. Have you found the ability to see the true Sacred Geometry in the world?"

Looking to Bones she shakes her head.

"I saw it when I was in the Watchtower but haven't figured out how to see it since."

"Oh! May I? It's innate to Obrimos like you or I, so maybe if I give you a little boost, you'll understand how to get there."

Amelia nods.

"Yeah, of course. Like just here or is there a do magic spot?"

Klaire keeps a half ear on the conversation, letting the two Mages...Obrimos, discuss the magic beyond her comprehension.

"Psyche, would you want to see it as well? Around here most goes towards the Tree," he motions to the distance, "Which, Blue, is sort of the No-Magic zone, without permission. There are other places, but we're far enough from the tree that we're fine..."

Amelia nods.

"Id appreciate that. I need to map them."

"I...can I guess? Am I allowed to?" She closes her papers. "And is it safe to me?"

"It's not a constant thing, and it's more pretties than mind breaking. As a sleepwalker you should be fine. It's like.... putting on IR goggles to see where water is flowing in pipes or something."

"Then I don't see why not?" Klaire sounds uneasy.

"Sounds fun."

There is a genuine interest. Nerd brain go brrrr.

The Obrimos began speaking in a foreign language, in an almost ritual or well practiced versus conversational tone. The words carry the feel of magic to them, as he focuses on the IMago. Incorporating the three of them, and giving them an hour, because why not, he traced the seal of solomon on his forearm. AFter a few seconds he let the spell go for them to feel. Soon, the trio saw the lines of energy in golden light flowing towards the tree, as well as energies of death and spirit.

Amelia watches the lines as they flow out.

Her head tilting in curiosity.

Klaire watches, a curiosity in her eyes as the Mage works their craft. She shifts to be fully attentive partway though, amazed at the energy. "And... what did you call this again?"

"There's lots of different names, depending on the culture, paradigms and other things involved, however Sacred Geometry, as they are lines of power across the surface of the sphere that is the Earth."

"Sacred Geometry is an amazing thing. Its just so much information, so much art to see."

Klaire watches it as one would watch fireworks, an appreciation but not an understanding of what it means.

"In fact, using variations of abilities like this, Psyche, and Blue for that matter, you can study different magic or abilities. I could allow you to see what it's like as you use your telepathy or apportation, or for Blue here to learn how I'm using some of these things. My Masters used the Sight frequently to help me study, when they weren't making me do it myself."

Blue nods.

"So this could show me the Arcanum being used in different spells."

That catches Klaire's attention. "So...you could show me how I affect the world almost?"

"Not this specifically, but there are variations, yeah. It is possible to use it to see other things."

"So this only shows the native lines of the world but there are versions that would allow me to see that?"

She pauses thinking again.

"Would that be like Mage Sight or something like that?"

Psyche nods along to Blue's question, seemingly having the same one.

"Yes, for you, your mage sight would allow you to study the various arcanum. There would have to be some more advanced practices, I think, to give Kl-Psyche the ability, but probably possible."

Psyche pipes up. "I know I can...feel the Lost. J- Sirius said that was something different though."

"So, that would be the active mage sight?"

She scritches at her head a moment. "Lost?"

"The Changeling types, they call themselves Lost, because they lost who they were until they escaped and made it back home, or something like that, as I understand it," a glance to Klaire to see if that works, "Yes, mage sight, including active mage sights. With the proper techniques, it's possible for individuals to share their knowledge and sight with anyone. However, it is very tiring for those without an Awakened soul."

"I...think that works? I'm trying to...be careful about how much I learn. I know they lose part of themselves and are...changed? The Lost is like Bones or yourself calling yourself Awakened I guess?"

Klaire looks to Bones. "So it would be tiring for me to learn anything from you...but possible?"

Blue nods following the conversation around the Lost.

Another nod to understand the comment regarding the tiring for non awakened.

"That's the easiest way to put it, yeah. It requires being an Adept at the Prime Arcanum to give you the chance. And then my default sight would be there, and the others I'd have to layer on top. More than three and it gets mentally heavy. Longer than a few minutes and you're pushing yourself. A teacher down in Mexico City told me that they've seen people blinded, deafened, or loss of other sensation if pushed too long."

Klaire looks uneasy. "No more than a few minutes, for sure. I'd much rather have that...not happen."

She takes a sip of her drink. "But if it helps me learn, I'm down to do it in short bursts. Whatever helps me...no more having to learn on my own I guess."

Blue tilts her head again.

"Having others to teach you is a blessing."

As she speaks her eyes are still tracing the lines flowing around them.

He waved a hand and cut the flow of power to the spell with the hesitation from Klaire. A smile crossed his face again as his gaze moved between the pair, just happy to be among fellowship.

"Well, I'm certain Bones is a good teacher." A kind smile. "They are a bit overzealous at times, but that can be a good thing too."

Another tilt of her head as she follows a line then a sigh.

"Aren't we all when its something we are passionate about? I could go on for hours about Geometry or Leylines or Sacred Geometry but I think it would bore most."

"I suppose that is fair, we each have things we are good at, and enjoy." A look to Bones. "I had not meant to put you down. I quite enjoy when you are enthusiastic. I get confused at times, but I enjoy it."

"You didn't offend. I don't do the university thing anymore for a reason. I'm just a big cool of potential energy."

"One day I will have to poke at that Academic brain of yours Bones. Interacting with others of a similar intellect is a gift."

She finally takes a seat, though it doesn't lower her height by much she feels it does.

"Confusion just means we have more to learn?"

Tommy sees another mysterium member and moves to chat with them, staying close enough to 'escort' Blue.

"I went to college and...well while I enjoy learning, I enjoy being out in the world more than a classroom. I have spent my fair share of time in libraries however."

"The world is a scary place like 50 percent of the time. Depends what Hat I have on for the day."

There is a sigh as she speaks looking tired

"I think that is almost me done for the day honestly. Only so much social I can do."

"I feel its far more than 50 percent, but that's a fair assessment." She looks at her notes, still facedown.

"I should get back to work anyway, enjoy the rest of your day Blue."

"It was nice to meet you Psyche. Have a good day."
