Jeremiah Hamilton: The previous night's conversation had sent a few thoughts spiraling in Jeremiah's head, and as the morning came the Warlock went on the hunt for the spectrally-inclined member of the cadre who would likely know more on the subject. He was dressed casually in sweatpants and a t-shirt to befit the relative earliness of the hour, sporting a thin wire-framed pair of glasses.

Kayla Sockum: Kay is found in the Hallow right this instant, focusing their attention directly onto the small earthly shaped bowl with various, strange mushrooms within. They're wearing a pair of loose fitting jogging pants and a loose white shirt, their shoulder a little more squre, their chest semi exposed, enough to understand the change on display. "Hi!" their voice is unchanged. "How're you?" they greet when Jay shows up.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah smiled as he saw Kay sitting there, taking a moment to appreciate the new look. "Doing pretty well...had something I wanted to run by you, if you have a moment. Also digging the new look."

Kayla Sockum: "Thank you very much. I don't know what I want to do with it yet, but I'm slowly acclimating to the change myself." They open their eyes and yawns a little bit, stretching out their arms. "And before you run things by me, would it be okay if I borrowed some shirts sometimes? My are way too loose for this look."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Hope it goes well. Want me to start using they/them for you while you're feeling it out?" He nodded, smirking a touch as he took a seat beside her. "Yeah, no problem. Can even go with you on a shopping run at some point if you'd like."

Kayla Sockum: "I'm going to have to start saving, I got some other offer for shopping already." A little chuckle follows and nod. "Yes, they and them for now, but Nevy gave me their pins with the pronoun selecters." a smile. "I'm liking Genderfluid a lot as an identity." they look up to Jay. "Also, my name is Kay when I'm on a non-femme mode." They lean a little against Jay's side. "So, what did you need me for?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Did they...nice. And I'm happy you're finding something that fits you." Jeremiah smiled warmly, giving a little nod as he rested against them. "Had a question on something on the spooky front, actually. Have you heard of someone being able to interact with ghosts, at least on a temporary basis, by comsuming them?"

Kayla Sockum: Kay spends a moment thinking, wracking their brain about it, tapping their cheek as they ponders. "It's probably nothing awakened, interacting with ghosts is rather basic, an Obrimos doesn't need help reaching that ability on their own."

"I think maybe some ghosts might have similar abilities they'd use to refill their essence. I think some ghost can affect souls too." Kay closes their eyes as they review their mental catalogs of spells and possibilities. "Is this about a mortal having that ability?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It is, yeah. Not something happening currently, mind you, but I was curious if you'd heard something on that front before."

Kayla Sockum: "It sounds like something like a mortal could develop or acquire yes. I've not paid as much attention to those as I have with other things." A shrug "I'm guessing this is Nevermore asking about it? Or something they found in the journal they were reading?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "The latter, in this case. Nevy was understandably horrified about it, since they had clicked pretty solidly with the person writing said journal up until that point where they started justifying what they were doing." He shook his head quietly. "The sheer hubris of it struck me the most...reminded me of the former owner of this place a bit too much for my liking."

Kayla Sockum: "Well, at least we managed to get that one on a better path, at least." Kay nods. "But the journal of that particular medium might not offer all of the context of their abilities either, or there might be a less terrible way to use it."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Potentially, yeah. I said it would be worth continuing to read it if only to know what to look out for if someone tried a similar trick nowadays, along with hopefully seeing him get some kind of comeuppance. With any luck the ghost he was courting was as disturbed by it as we were and bailed on him."

Kayla Sockum: "I don't know. Nevermore is good at noticing the areas in which we should ask moral questions and made me reconsider several things in the past." Kay explains ."I think maybe this time, there might be some lost context. Maybe there is a ghost or a tale we could explore there to learn more of it. Does their journal talk about the location of those events?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That they are...always applauded them for that, and I told them as much last night." He shook his head at the questions that followed. "That you'd need to ask Nevy on. They did say the writer went into detail on the how, though, along with the self-justification about doing it."

Kayla Sockum: "Which may provide enough context, but that does make me curious." Their gaze falls down to the fungus in the earthen pot before her. "I've been absorbed into this thing for a while now, I may either need a break or to finish it." a smile from Kay and then looks back to Jay.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That's the one from the tree down Below, right?" He looked to the fungus curiously. "How's it been coming along?"

Kayla Sockum: "Hmm, I'm pretty sure the Tree's going to be under attack by the seers because well, dreams." Kay points to their head and smiles. "I warned Peacemaker already." and a sigh. "Been also working on shaping my soul and looking into like, insights as to how to do that." a beat. "I'm in a place of major change in my life and it's... very stressful."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "You mentioned, yeah. Definitely worth keeping an eye on, for sure." He nodded, scooting over to loop an arm around Kay's shoulders at that sigh. "It usually is. I know you'll get through it, though, and if you need help from any of us just ask."

Kayla Sockum: "I think maybe a big hug and maybe a bit of comfort food?" Kay place a soft, swift kiss to Jay's cheek and smiles. "Want to go do that?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Sounds like a plan." He replied with a small smile, giving the Moros a good and proper hug. "Shall we?"

Kayla Sockum: "Yep!" Kay stands up and helps Jay along. "and how's Polly doing?" they stretches out a little bit one they're up and head up the stairs.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Very good." The smile went a little sheepish at that, the Warlock following along up the stairs. "We ended up running into each other at Maddy's, so that cat got let out of the bag, and we talked about things at her place a couple nights ago. It went well, all told, and we both want to see where this goes."

Kayla Sockum: Kay smiles as they enter the kitchen and opens one of the cupboard and then grabbing themselves a bottle of soda. "So happy to know, can't wait to meet her."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Just need to figure a good day for it. She wants to meet you guys too." He nodded, moving to grab a drink for himself. "When she does, I will ask to be light on the 'what are you?' questions for now; she wants to get a feel for you guys first, if that's alright."

Kayla Sockum: "That's alright! Don't worry." Kay says with a smile and bump shoulders with Jay.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Appreciate it." He smirked, returning the light shoulder bump with one of his own. "Don't want her feeling swarmed, you know?"

Kayla Sockum: "Oh I understand." A smile as they look through the various food options "Hmm..."
