Log

Scourge: Cool, a little breezy, and about 60 Fahrenheit is about perfect walking weather. At least, as long as you're a wolfman with a magic duster. If you can't see past his mask, Scourge doesn't seem like the type to be taking a leisurely stroll. Standing at 6'6", wearing an impressive duster and clearly having lived a violent life, he seems more like he should be in a bar brawl. Instead he seems utterly at peace, sniffing the air periodically. He even favors any other walkers with a smile and a nod!

Alexis: Alexis is taking a break on her own walk, wearing a heavier jacket and a blue hat with a pair of fox ears sown into the top. She is sipping at a cup of something hot from a nearby coffee place while leaning up against a split-rail wood fence. Upon seeing the towering male making his way down the path she makes a practically audible squeeking noise and tries to look unnoticable while also watching him out of the corner of her eye.

Scourge: Upon seeing the small woman, Scourge smiled as warmly as he is able, taking care not to show any teeth. He nodded at her. "Ma'am. Lovely night, isn't it?"

Alexis: "Mhmm?" Oh crap he noticed me, time to pretend to be social, "Hi! It is nice out. Finally, the weather has been terrible all week." Alexis is tiny compared to the huge man, more than a foot and a half shorter than him and with a frame to match.

Scourge: It takes a moment, but Scourge remembers that he is big and scary and this girl doesn't deserve to be scared, so he sits down on a convenient bench near her. They're probably about eye level now. "Nothing like a nice walk to clear your mind, eh?"

Alexis: "Ooof." Ok, now Alexis is feeling ashamed of herself for judging the guy. Somewhat glad her hat covers her ears so he can't see that she's embarassed, she nods, "Yeah. I'm trying to get my students through their final projects and ready for exams and its just...." She sighs

Scourge: "Oh, you're a teacher? That's great. Molding young minds and all that." He frowns slightly. "Never had much help there, so it's always nice to see someone doing their best."

Alexis: "You're never too old to start. Although I don't think you're the type I'd see in one of my classes, unless you're some sort of vigilante coding biker straight out of a 90s movie?"

Scourge: "Ha! Nah, I've never been much for computers. You've got the biker part right, though." And the vigilante part sometimes. Not that she needs to know about it. "That's what I do when I need cash. I'm not too bad with an engine."

Alexis: "That's still good!" She gives him a wry smile, "It turns out when no one keeps the machines running all the programming in the world won't make 'em go."

Scourge: "It's good, honest work. Hard but... rewarding." He looks at his calloused hands, thinking of the less savory work they have done. "Better than some other jobs, yeah?"

"If you don't mind me asking, what do you teach?"

Alexis: "I'm a professor of computer science and linguistics over at U.Penn." Alexis jerks a thumb back behind her, in the direction of the campus to the south.

Scourge: "Damn. I understand... part of that." A warm smile shows that he's just kidding. The smell of a campfire drifts in slightly, and Alexis might even catch sight of some lights like fireflies flickering around. "Seriously, that's great. Teaching people really good shit. I'm bad at English, so I couldn't wrap my head around any other languages. But I'm starting to learn computers, thanks to my job. Everything's made of computers now."

Alexis: "Its good that you're streching your boundaries, I think." She takes a last sip of her tea, "So, one of my hobbies is collecting local stories about weird shit that happens. Any interesting legends in the biker community around here?"

Scourge: "I saw the bus to nowhere the other day." He shrugged. "Followed it for a bit, but never saw it pick up or drop off anyone. Creepy as hell."

Alexis: "That sounds decidedly odd." Alexis tilts her head, which makes the ears on her hat flop to one side, "Not that the busses around her are super great even without being haunted. Although they're better than some of the horror stories I've heard about elsewhere."

Scourge: He shrugs. "Yeah, it was odd. Had other appointments to keep, unfortunately. But I don't think I've seen anything else that might interest you. Though there is this diner that has burgers that must be from heaven."

Alexis: "...I could go for a burger right now."

Scourge: "Uh... Wanna go get one? The diner's not far."

Alexis: "Sure, sounds like a plan." Alexis drops the empty cup in the bin next to the bench

Scourge: Scourge almost seems a bit bashful as he stands up, groaning a little as his knees crack. "Yeah. Yeah, a burger sounds good." He smiles shyly down at her before he starts walking, leading the way.

Alexis: Alexis offers him a hand up, "Alexis. Pleased to meet you....?"

Scourge: "Scourge. Pleasure's all mine."
