A movie theater and the streets surrounding it

Log

Floretta awaits near the movie theater that they selected to watch the movie, a little smile on her lips, nervously chewing on her lips, as she re-reads previous conversation, while waiting on Eyrgjafa to show up. She's dressed in a little black dress with a leather jacket over it, hair wavy and loose and still flashy green. Her skin warm with life.

The movie theater isn't one of the bigger one, but still there is a crowd that gathers near it, either passing the time before their movie or chatting about it after.

Eyrgjafa's made sure to dress relatively nicely for this date, choosing a dark red dress with ivy details in black, and a modestly sized leather purse to carry her things. She's Blushed, too, as she approaches the other vampire, a small smile on her face. "Hey, Floretta. I hope you haven't been waiting too long?"

The kindred's expression lights up at the sight of her date and, when questioned about the length of her waiting time, for a second, it looks like her typical rambliness is about to take over, but she reins it in. "Eyrgjafa." she says with a soft voice. "...you look so lovely." Floretta reaches to feel the fabric of Eyrgjafa's dress by running her finger over one of the strap. "I left my place early because I annoyed Herbert enough for him to bark me out of the house." a little chuckle.

"Well, we can't have Herbert annoyed," Eyrgjafa chuckles quietly, bending to kiss Floretta on the cheek. "You look amazing too, by the way. I love the hair."

That brings another bright smile and a soft shade of pink to Floretta's cheek. "I wasn't sure you would. I'm glad you are." She looks up at Eyr and smiles. "Still want to watch the horror movie I suggested? We could watch some other new releases if you'd prefer?"

"No, let's try the horror movie. If it turns out to be uninteresting, or too much, we can always leave early." Eyrgjafa shrugs slightly. "Should we go inside? Might be best to grab a thing of popcorn or the like before the line gets too long."

Floretta seems amused by the popcorn comment. "Anything to drink too while we're at it?" she heads toward the door and opens it for her date, bright smile on her. "And good, let me know if we need to leave, I'll do the same." The inside of the theater has a lot of people, even if most aren't in line, yet. Floretta produce two tickets and hands one over to Eyrgjafa. "Do you want any sweets with that too?"

"Nah. I tend not to eat candy." Eyrgjafa grins at Floretta, taking the ticket from her, stowing it in her purse for now. "Maybe something to drink, though? I hear a lot of theaters serve alcohol these days, so maybe a beer or some wine? We should check what they have on offer."

Floretta offers her arm to Eyrgjafa as she makes her way toward the lines to the concession stand. "I think this one does, if the menu is anything to go by." a pointed finger toward the brightly lit displays, as they get within readable distance. "I don't think they have wine, but definitely beer."

"Good, because I prefer beer anyway," Eyrgjafa admits, taking Floretta's arm. "Do you want to get anything while we're here?"

"That's important information." Floretta comments with only a soft smile and then, as they wait in line for their turn at the cash register, squeeze the arm that is now within her grasp. "I tend to prefer alcohol that comes into shot forms. Strong stuff in smaller quanity." she reviews their option. "What sizing of popcorn do you think would be wise?"

Eyrgjafa considers the carton sizes for a moment. "Maybe the Jumbo? Definitely enough for the both of us, that way." As they reach the head of the queue, Eyrgjafa reaches into her purse with her free hand, retrieving her card to pay for their selections.

Floretta smiles and squeeze the arm in hers "Would it be presumptuous of me to tell you that you can take care the next one?" there is a soft touch of mischief in her eyes and affection too.

"Assuming there will be a next one? Bold of you." Eyrgjafa chuckles, then. "But very well, I'll let you pick up the bill this time." She grins at Floretta, kissing the other woman on the forehead.

"I know right!" Floretta smiles and chuckles and she does step forward to pay for the popcorn, beer and then return to Eyrgjafa's side. "You know, I never really noticed just how much taller you are than me." She chuckles "I should've worn platform heels."

"Something to remember for the future, then." Eyrgjafa takes her beer from Floretta, letting the other woman hold their popcorn as they wait for the cinema to actually open for their film. "I'm not sure how you missed it, though, considering the length of time we've known each other."

"Perspective." Floretta responds. "Usually when we're together we're reading or seated and focusing on other matters." she smiles, getting into line, she already grab a bit of popcorn. "And typically, I have heels with actual height to them on." she lift one foot up to display her shoe. "These are almost flat." she clear her throat. "And maybe there's a question of proximity too, I don't usually hold your arms and lean against you for any length of time."

"Fair enough," Eyrgjafa chuckles. "Do you mind if I ask what made you decide to go with flats this time?" Idle conversation as the line advances slowly.

For a brief moment, she goes through a few different expression embarrassed, exposed, caught in some kind of subterfuge."So my exact words were: I never really noticed just how much taller you are." Floretta blushes again, even as she admits her preference. "Maybe I just wanted to enhance the experience a little."

"I suppose I can't hold that against you," Eyrgjafa admits with a smile. "It makes sense that you'd want this to go well, after pining for so long." She may be teasing Floretta there.

"You know you could hold yourself against me and I wouldn't complain." Floretta teases back with just a touch of eyebrow waggle. "And yeah, I know, I took a lot of time. That's fair." the line begin to advance for their own movie.

"I have to save some things for later, you know. How else am I to build anticipation?"

"Wise." Floretta laughs, all smile as the wander into the dark room and she looks about, sensing all of the heartbeat and seeing better than most people would in the dark. "That'll be an experience when people start getting scared." She whispers, even as she picks a middle of the theater kind of seat and proceed to work the logistics of sitting down in a tight fitted row while holding items and wearing impractical shoes. Once the beer is given back and she settles in, she grabs a bit of popcorn for herself. "As a side bonus, I promise I won't deliberately throw popcorn at you."

"Good to know," Eyrgjafa grins, taking a seat next to Floretta. "Though I'm not sure why you'd be throwing popcorn at anyone, deliberate or not."

"I've been known to be a bit raucous when people act up." Floretta runs her finger through her green hair. "Not the first time I've have green hair." she comments. "Like, if I heard someone make a comment i disagree with, or had objections to our date for some reasons. I might throw popcorn at them." she suggest, mischievously with plopping a few pieces into her mouth.

"Fair enough, then." Eyrgjafa glances at Floretta. "When was the last time you had green hair? I don't remember ever seeing you with it."

"Was still hanging with Elizabeth. I did it when I was younger than that too." Floretta explains about her time with her Sire, probably early in her requiem. "She was just showing me how to make some changes stick and that was how I did it."

"Ah, okay." Eyrgjafa snags a few pieces of popcorn for herself before continuing. "I've never tried dying my hair, but it could be interesting. Maybe a purple or something, just to see how it'd look?"

"Is that your favorite color?" Floretta asks with a curious smile, just as the light goes darker and the screen grows brighter to play the advertisements and the trailers.

"I wouldn't necessarily say favourite, but it's certainly up there," Eyrgjafa responds, before quieting to watch the trailers.

Between trailers and bites of popcorns and sideway glances toward Eyrgjafa. "What is your favorite then?" Floretta uses the little exchange to lean toward Eyrgjafa and listen to her responses.

"Not sure. Haven't really thought about it." Eyrgjafa matches the lean. "Do you have one?"

Another little gleam in the eye of the kindred, rambling thoughts threatening to spill out, but, not the place, not the moment. "Depends on what is bearing the color." the screen plays a trailer for some horror movie, then an action movie and then seems to be heading toward the movie in itself.

"I'll ask later, then." Eyrgjafa settles in to watch the movie proper, then, oohing and aahing at the relevant places.

Floretta watches the movie along, paying attention to it when things are moving forward and sometimes, moving her attention back to Eyrgjafa to watch her while she watch the movie. The movie itself is a suspense that builds, newly arrived family, their son notice something weird is happening next door. People forgetting others exists, strange markings on woods and doors, hidden creatures, minimal cgi. Floretta seems engaged with it until the end, even if her attention shifts between the screen and her date more than once.

Eyrgjafa's largely engrossed in the movie, but not to the point of failing to notice Floretta's attention drifting to her from time to time, which she responds to by leaning over, nestling her head against the other woman's shoulder as she watches the movie, sipping at her beer occasionally.

Floretta seems to relax a little further when that happens and sometimes rest her head against Eyrgjafa's. Her beer is left untouched for most of the movie, but she does finish it up during the more stressful moment of the movie. The popcorn is, as promised, left unthrown at her date. Not there's a lot of it to throw toward the end. As the credit begin rolling, Floretta winces a little bit at the light slowly turning back up.

Eyrgjafa doesn't wince at the lights turning back up, instead smiling softly at Floretta. "That was surprisingly good. I'm glad you suggested it." She stands, then, offering the other woman a hand up.

Floretta beams at the reaction she gets from Eyrgjafa and gladly accepts the hand back up. "It was really good, I liked the kind of atmosphere it had for the whole of it. Felt almost like the zombie classics." she smiles "I'm really happy you liked it."

"I don't think I've ever seen those. We'll have to check them out sometime." Eyrgjafa muses, placing the popcorn and beers in the appropriate receptacle as the pair make their way out of the cinema. "Did you have anything planned for the rest of the night?"

"I thought about maybe visiting a haunted boat I know about but, you know, seems like an every day thing." Floretta jokes. "I did not plan for anything, but I was hoping to spend a bit of time just together talking. If you're interested in that."

"Sure. Should we go for a stroll while we talk? The night's still young, after all."

"Yes, any place you want to go in particular or just where our steps take us?" Floretta asks as she follows Eyrgjafa out of the theather, she spends a few moment stretching her legs and arms out.

Eyrgjafa shrugs at that. "No particular destination in mind." She waits politely for Floretta to finish her stretching before offering the other woman her arm. "Did you have anything you especially wanted to talk about?"

Floretta takes the arms in hers, squeezing it gently and smiling as they begin walking a little bit. "Hmm, I'd like us to get to know each others a little more, if you're comfortable with that? I'm also pretty open to suggestions too."

"Fine by me." Eyrgjafa smiles softly as they walk away from the theater. "How long were you pining? Just since Rhea got back to town, or did it start before then?"

"It did start before that, but I wasn't aware of it, if that make sense." Floretta responds, turning her attention around, cautiously wanting to avoid being hit by a car or checking if they're being followed. "Rhea just got me realizing that it would bother me if you gave the romantic kind of attention to someone else." A little chuckle. "I think it started a little before we both went for the Bride's study, maybe a bit before that. "

"Oh? Not into that poly thing so many people are trying these days, then?" Eyrgjafa seems genuinely curious, as she glances at Floretta.

Floretta smiles a little bit and maybe turns a shade or two redder. "People find what they work for them, I'm familiar with the kind of arrangement that comes with it." she takes a little sharp inhale. "but the thought of sharing you, romantically, is a difficult thing right now."

"Fair enough." Eyrgjafa shrugs slightly. "Have you talked to anyone else about your feelings yet?"

Floretta's head dips a little bit and she takes a deep breath. She nods once. "I did mention it to Rena. Mostly because during a previous conversation, she asked if we were dating." a beat. "I didn't want her to like, accidentally stumble on us and think I lied to her."

"Oh? I didn't think she'd be the type to take an interest in that sort of thing." Eyrgjafa's clearly surprised at the news. "How did she respond?"

"It wasn't so much as a curiosity on her part than an accidentally bringing up the topic, to be honest." Floretta offers a smile. "She wasn't exactly a fan of the idea, but that was about a week ish ago though? I haven't spoken with her in a few days."

"Ah, I see." Eyrgjafa hmmms for a moment. "I think she's been focused on dealing with some vermin for the most part, now that we've got the new clubhouse up and running." There's probably not anyone within easy earshot, but better safe than sorry. "Are you okay with us being public about this in our circles, then?"

"I am okay with being public with this." Floretta smiles brightly. "I'm also okay with following your preference on the matter, if you'd prefer a bit of privacy." She leans a little bit against Eyrgjafa. "What do you want on that particular front, hmm?"

In response, Eyrgjafa shrugs the shoulder Floretta isn't leaning against. "I'm fine either way, honestly. I just thought it'd be better to ask, than to assume and be wrong about it."

"So, do we do a dance number next time we come onto the boat?" Floretta says with a little chuckle "Or do we just act naturally and let people figure it out on their own?"

"Act natural, I suppose." Eyrgjafa grins at Floretta. "I'm not much of a dancer, but if you want to do that there's a few good clubs within easy walk of here."

"Oh a different night, I'd love to go out and dance with you, or do a Karaoke night maybe." Floretta suggest playfully. "Tonight I feel like is a little bit of a calmer sort of mood. Maybe some more walking and seeing the sights?"

"Works for me," Eyrgjafa nods. "I'm not especially familiar with this karaoke, though. What does it involve?"

"You pick a song the bar has on the book, you get on stage and then you sing it for people." She chuckles "And I'm not that good at it so it'd be really entertaining!"

Eyrgjafa blinks. "I fail to see how you not being good at it means it'd be entertaining."

She laughs just a little bit "Because then you can laugh at how silly I made a song, or how much fun I'm having anyway. Are you good at singing?"

A slight shrug, then. "Reasonable? I tend more towards chanting, but that's a very different style to the sort of thing that seems to be popular currently."

"It probably is yes!" Floretta squeeze the arm "Why don't you show me what you can chant while we have this little walk, hmm?" she says as they walk further into the night.

Eyrgjafa does so.
