Bellevue Hotel Elysium

Log

Marzio Insana: Marzio was in a ACAB shirt, a long black duster, with a gasmask hanging off their belt. Honestly it looks like they were at or ready for a riot...

Currently their hair was all shaved off their face. They were handsome still, but definitely seemed a bit 'out there' compared to normal.

A sigh as the now unblushed man plopped at the hotel bar, giving those dressed a bit higher class a grin of defiance.

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel slipped though the Elysium entrance without much fanfare, dressed far more formally than the Daeva at the bar. He slipped off his sunglasses once firmly inside, jet black eyes scanning the room for any other occupants. He paused spotting Marzio, an eyebrow arching at his current attire before offering a nod. "Had an interesting evening, I take it?"

Marzio Insana: "Welll...." a grin and a laugh, "I thought I would reach out to some friends in town and make connections in another way... not crime per se, but criminals by name based on the laws. Gotta keep shaking up the social moors."

Daniel Hawthorne: "More power to ya." Daniel nodded with a smirk, heading towards the bar to get into proper conversation range and offered a hand. "Don't think I've ever introduced myself properly. Daniel Hawthorne."

Marzio Insana: "Ah Yes, Master Hawthorne of the Attending Horror, if I recall correctly," the hand was shaken in return, his Italian accent thickening from a more Americanized version, "I am the Luring Aide, Beginning my Grief, named Marzio Insana, known among the Human world as the Cartoonist Darin WIntheiser..." a bow with flourish, while not releasing the hand, before looking up with a grin.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Philosopher, actually, although that was only recently recognized." He smirked a touch at the bow, giving a respectful nod in return. "Cartoonist, eh? What sort of work do you do on that front?"

Marzio Insana: "Political cartoons and the like," he settled back into the chair and ran a hand over his smooth pate, "I do a lot of pointed commentary through art... or speeches or... well... it's my thing."

"I am part of O'n'K after all, doing social justice work when I can, helping bring the society forwards when I can. Carthian first, which I'm sure some love and hate."

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel nodded as he claimed a seat for himself, letting out a little 'huh' at the mention of his second covenant. "That seems to be a popular combination here; know one of the Knights is also part of the Movement. I'm with Touati myself family-wise."

Marzio Insana: "Oh? I'll have to look into that. I was around before both, and when the Carthians became a thing... it drew my heart. Especially speaking truth to power in regards to what the Americans called Separation of Church and State . Various things like that... I consider the Carthians my Political home and the Dracul my philosophical. I speak truth to power, and learn how to speak truth to the Beast and the Curse and what not."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Makes sense." He offered a nod. "I grew up in the First Estate myself and stayed with it for a time after my Embrace, but in coming here I learned more about the Academy and found it to be my best path forward."

Marzio Insana: "I have come to love this city. I came shortly before Gettysburg and stayed here through the end of the war and so on and so forth... went back to Europe for the Teens and the Forties.... and bits of the sixties... but I keep coming home here."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I'm from Boston myself," not like you couldn't tell from the almost-British Brahmin accent that the Haunt sported, "but Philadelphia was a...healthier place for me to be after my Embrace. It was a messy affair, to put it lightly, and coming here helped to clear the air."

Marzio Insana: "Ah yes, the cleansing powers of moving domains. I try to avoid a certain region of where modern day Spain and France meet... The Spear and I there aren't friends."

Daniel Hawthorne: "That sounds like a story." He nodded with a smirk. "I wasn't a particularly religious person in life, and that never really appealed to me after either."

Marzio Insana: "Eh. A century and a half staked? Not much to tell...." A laugh

Daniel Hawthorne: "Oh...damn." He winced in sympathy, rubbing his chest over his heart on reflex. "Sorry to hear that happened, but glad you got out of it."

Marzio Insana: "They couldn't kill us without political consequences, but had no problem keeping us in a catacombs turned prison. "

Daniel Hawthorne: "Right...makes sense." He gave another nod. "Where are you from originally, if you don't mind my asking?"

Marzio Insana: "Milano, in the age of the Visconti family's rule."

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel had to think a moment on the time frame before his eyebrows went up a touch. "I see. I went there once in my 20s and enjoyed it." Not that he looked much older than 25 at the moment, but the powers of the blood made that sort of thing hard to gauge anyway.

Marzio Insana: "It was a long time ago. The comedy of life never left me. Death and centuries of cultures always have a need for a jester sharing truth to power."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Agreed, especially these days."

Marzio Insana: "Another reason why I stay here in the United States. Now, in this city, the robots and Vii and all sorts of other issues to talk about in code. Should put out some newsletters again ..."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Yeah...haven't run into one of the bots yet myself but I've heard enough about them. Nasty business, and the fact that they're given as much leeway as they are is concerting."

Marzio Insana: "Figure I'll make some art that way too. Just gotta think about the way to lay it out."

Daniel Hawthorne: "If you need any help on the art front I'd be happy to chip in. I'm a fashion designer myself, and have a decent hand with a pen on that front."

Marzio Insana: "Could be interesting. What sort of layout do you think would work, one within the All night society and one for public consumption I think."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Simple flyer might be the best way to go about it. Easier to format and produce in quantity."

Marzio Insana: "Sure, I'm thinking more like... do we have it stepping on the liberty bell... or burning down the Hall... somethign to hit the emotions of others... or do we make it more comedic?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "Ah, gotcha." He sat back in his seat, mulling that over for a moment. "I'd lean more towards the serious, in this case. Maybe a nod to the recent riots, if you were here for that."

Marzio Insana: "AH yes. I was actually in amongst them," a small grin.

Daniel Hawthorne: "That does not surprise me." He offered with a chuckle, eyeing the Daeva's current ensemble. "I saw it on the news after the fact."

Marzio Insana: He laughed again, "What sort of clothing do you tend to make? I do my things day to day with the art or finding my way with mortal social circles... the Newspaper, the TV Studios all sorts of things."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Custom couture primarily, although we do more casual styles as well. Most of what I wear I've either made or modified as needed." He motioned to his current ensemble for emphasis. "Whatever you need we can make happen."

Marzio Insana: "Very cool. I have a very eclectic closet. Blend into a lot of the anti-establishment cliques. At least the ones where my appearance doesn't matter, or the ones that I can alter," touching his head, "to help."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Clothes make the man and all that." He nodded, smiling a touch. "You more of the 'blend into the crowd' type or the 'make it so it doesn't matter' sort?"

Marzio Insana: "Depends on the situation. You can find me with the mask and megaphone sometimes, or sometimes just pushing the crowd to act and keep going."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Fair enough. Haven't been involved in that sort of thing directly, I'll admit, but I admire those that get into the thick of it."

Marzio Insana: "This has been a good conversation, Master Hawthorne," they produced a card out of nowhere, and set it down. Darin Wintheiser and contact stuff.

"I think I should get on, but I wish to reach out to you about these fliers and the like. Let's see what we can do."

Daniel Hawthorne: Daniel took the offered card, looking it over briefly before pocketing it and offering Marzio one of his own with the information for the studio and whatnot. "Sounds good. Been a pleasure."

Marzio Insana: He started to head out of the hotel and then got distracted by some of the art on the wall.
