Thespis's roof pool

Log

Thespis needed a smoke, it's been a long tiring day and something told him he needed to unwind. Call him melodramatic but the roof was a decent place as any, plus that's where the pool was. So, wearing a black shirt that was unbuttoned at the top and pants, he stepped out to enjoy the night sky views.

Titania was sitting in the edge of the pool dangling her feet and looking out over the skyline. She tilted her head as Thespis walked onto the roof. A smirk of a smile crossing her face.

She was wearing a long flowing black dressing gown exposed from mid thigh, her feet bare in the water.

"Have to admit, didn't see this coming," he sighed as he lit the cig, taking a puff and breathing it out, "So, let me guess, taking a stop on nightly Parkour sessions?" he asked walking over, "I know every tenant in this building, your not one of them."

"But I am beautiful. Care to share?" She says indicating the cigarette.

"Oh I dunno, saw a nice rooftop pool and couldn't help myself."

he sighs and takes a cig, handing it to her and then taking out his lighter to offer to light it

"You enjoy waffles?"

She takes the offered cigarette and light. "Thanks."

Then a tilt of her head. "Oh? Is that how the youths treat a lady of taste. By inviting me to Maddy's."

"No, just wanted confirmation that your of the night side," he said, sitting next to her and putting is own feet in the pool, "And if I wanted to treat a lady of taste, I'd first ask the beauty her name, discuss things such as music, the arts, what she likes, afterwards I would ask the lady for dinner but something tells me the lady has a particular diet," he turns his head and smirks, "a hunch," he shrugs, "I admire people of taste, their is such a lack of class and refinement these days, with the youths, my coworkers have labled me an old man," he takes her hand and kisses it, "Thespis."

She nods. "You are correct, on all fronts."

Then a look as he kisses her hand. "I could get used to this."

A tilt of her head. "You may call me Titania."

"What angel wakes me from my flowery bed? I pray thee, gentle mortal, sing again: Mine ear is much enamour'd of thy note," he recites from memory, "I was in Drama Club, Midsummer's Night Dream was done once or twice, I preferred Richard the III," he chuckles, "But something tells me you predate the Bard, you seem to have an air of grace and sophistication that comes with experience."

"I do at that."

She chuckles. "You seem to be the dramatic kind, what breed of the night are you?"

"I count myself one of the Wise, lady Titania, I have a guess of your own station," he smiles, "I count myself blessed when I learned this city had more diplomatic relations than most, for it allows for pleasant conversations such as this."

"I am of the night." A pause at the word Wise. "Should I then count you among the Awakened?"

A smile at that word. "Yes, it is quite a lovely city."

"I am one of the Mages, yes," he nods, "I have recently moved from Los Angeles, a change of scenery was required." splashes the water a bit with hit feet, another puff of his cigarette, "Now that I know the beauties name, may I ask the lady of her thoughts on music, the arts?" he asks

She nods her head in understanding. A shift of her feet causing ripples as she drags on her own cigarette.

"You may."

"Do you enjoy modern music, I myself enjoy the oldies of the 1980's, but I think that's also modern in your eye's, does the works of Mozart capture your interest or even the works of William Byrd?"

"I consider both William Byrd and Mozart to be modern. So yes. I do consider the 1980's to be modern." A pause, for dramatic effect and a drag of her cigarette.

"I am more of a fan of the Cantigas de Santa Maria it was composed during the reign of Alfonso X The Wise not long after my birth."

"Are you a fan of Alfonso's literature as well, it amazes me how the Siete Partidas was still followed well into the 19th century, then again his focus on learning and astronomy does mark him as one of the progressive kings of the time, I have to admit, I'm a avid fan of Dante, Inferno in particular." he takes another drag and breathes it out

"I was at the time, but. No longer."

She tilts her head then chuckles. "Whatever you enjoy. I'll admit freely that I never really moved into the modern age with my musical tastes."

"I can understand that, If I lived to 3899, I'd still be listening to Queen," he shrugs, "would your taste in the arts also remain focused on the 13th century?"

"It would. With a few pieces that interest me from the 17th, though that is for very different reasons."

he nods and smiles, "Name, arts, oh, it would seem by my earlier comments, I would next ask the lady for dinner," he takes his cigarette and flicks it into the pool, "While I already ate, could I be a good host and offer the gorgeous lady a drink?" he asks, "If my company does not bore her of course."

She tilts her head at that, then chuckles.

"If I were but a few centuries younger my dear man I would take you up on that. Sadly, what you are made of cannot sustain me like it used to."

Then she adds. "Though your company does not bore me."

he nods, "I understand, I just wish to be a gracious host." he smiles, "Is their anything I can do for you, I can have the speakers play the Cantigas de Santa Maria if you desire?"

"You have no obligation to be a host to me in any way, though I appreciate it none the less."

Then she tilts her head. "I think I would appreciate that, thank you Thespis."

he nods and takes out his phone, a few slides and clicks and the speakers begin to play, "I come out for a smoke and find an enchanting goddess has chosen my pool to lounge by, how could I not be a host to her?" he asks

"You could make a woman swoon with words like that."

Then she leans back flat on the roof and smiles listening to the music and staring up at the night sky.

"A friend of mine suggested I put myself back out there, your praise has shown to me I still have a shot," he chuckles leaning back with her, enjoying the stars, "Heartbreak can shatter confidence, it's a bitter poison that one needs time to recover, thankfully I believe I have healed."

"I am happy for you. It took me centuries to get over mine."

She tilts her head then leans it on his chest.

he smiles at the contact, "Thank you," he nods, "My friend suggested I look into people on our side, they have proven a beloved guide and companion, thus I take their advice," he slowly moves his arm around her, slow enough that a sign of approval or disapproval would be given

She smiles herself. "I would take their advice, though." And she doesn't pull back from the contact. "I am likely not suitable for long term commitment from one such as yourself."

"I have no doubt about that, my friend suggested for now I ease back into it, find people to 'play with' as it where, this friend seems to have a wide range of such friends," he rubs her arm, "What is your opinion on such arrangements?"

"Oh, im sure they did." She chuckles. "Bones? Ask them about me next you see them."

A smile at the touch. "I am quite open to such arrangements dear Thespis. I'll be extra careful not to break you."

he laughs before he turns his head to face her, "Would the lady be opposed of me showing her what exactly the good doctor found. . .exhilarating." he smirks, "I've always been drawn to dangerous women."

"You may. As one would say. 'Have your way with me.'"

She chuckles rolling onto of him.
