Community Outreach Center

Log

Ylva Theodulus: Ylva was working at her new community outreach center. Tonight that had meant talking a kid down from using and working the kitchen.

Right now she is scrubbing pots in the back room. Looking for her own fix. She was waiting for Vinny to arrive to see if she had to do more work tonight or not.

Vincent Drake: Vincent walked in the center, Avenged Sevenfold shirt and jeans. He couldn't help but smile as he looked around the place, he never had much faith in people but seeing something like this. . .their was good in people. He looked around before finding the back room, "Yo." he says giving a wave, "Need a hand?"

Ylva Theodulus: Ylva smiles as Vinny waves. Turning her head she talks to the cook first.

"Hey Aimee you can clock off for the night."

"Oh sure. Thanks boss."

Then she turns to Vinny.

"Yeah. Just jump in where she was. Getting stuff ready for breakfast."

Vincent Drake: he nods and starts cooking where Aimee left off, he doesn't show it much but looking after Alice for ten years, plus the fact ma and pa did the bare minimum, yeah, he's pretty good at cooking, "Didn't know you ran this place, pretty cool."

Ylva Theodulus: "Yeah. I bought it a little while ago. Finally got it up and running."

She smiles again watching him work.

"Try to bring our community together and all that."

Vincent Drake: "My sister and I lived on the streets for the past ten years." he admits, "First thing most people know about me is being a scummy con-artist, most of my cash went to putting her through school," he says as he flips an omelette, "There were some times we probably have gone hungry if it weren't for places like this." he smiles, "It's needed more than folks realize."

Ylva Theodulus: "Yeah. It is. I ended up on the street when I was 14. Places like this kept me alive."

She shrugs.

"Paying it forward. Glad they could help."

Vincent Drake: he nods as he finishes up cooking, "I told Avery," he said, "Going to tell Maria next time I see her to, but I took your advice and I'm coming clean on it." he admits, "Avy promised that if I see too eager, to sit me down and dig if there's anything else going on."

Ylva Theodulus: "Good."

A nod.

"I know how hard it is. But. You gotta do what is best long term yeah. You can't keep something like that secret."

Vincent Drake: putting the cooking tools away, he finds a place to sit, "It was. . .easier than I expected, Avery didn't seem bothered by it much, just wanted to know what they could do to help, guess I really overthink things." he laughs and gives a smile, "I need to give people more credit."

Ylva Theodulus: "Probably yeah. Not everyone is out to get you. Otherwise places like this wouldn't exist."

She sits on one of the huge pots she had just finished cleaning.

Vincent Drake: "Sorry to hear you where on streets to," he begins, "For me it was. . .a rough choice, my parents where neglectful with Dad being an particular bastard, my sister was eight and I was fourteen when I took her and ran," he shrugs, "The first of many instances in me taking the most dramatic option for a problem, way I figured we couldn't stay any longer and I did not trust the system to keep us together."

Ylva Theodulus: She nods smiling and listening.

"I understand. You did what you had to. For me it was the only choice. My parents were white supremacists. Try being a punk dwarf Albino around that."

A chuckle in such a way that it shows she has processed it.

Vincent Drake: "Fuck," he shakes his head, "How the fuck is it we live in the 21st century but we still have bigoted assholes running around, thought WW2 was supposed to solve that problem," he sighs, "I'm sorry to hear about that, wherever they are, fuck em."

Ylva Theodulus: She shrugs.

"Eh. I'm too cute to waste brain power on em."

A hint of a southern twang coming through.

"Plus I wouldn't have met my wife or lovers if I stayed there."

Vincent Drake: "And I'm sure they are grateful for that." he laughs, "You from the south?, never been outside of Philly myself, and I don't think I ever will."

Ylva Theodulus: She flattens her hair (or ears if he could see them) to her head and chuckles.

"Yeah. It comes through on occasion. There is a wide world out there and your have all the time in the world."

Vincent Drake: "The accents cute," he muses before shaking his head, "I can't, it's a product of my blood, the line of vampires I'm in can't leave the city we call home, in exchange I'm more. . .intuned to it?" he shrugs, "Like, I can feel it constantly, all the sounds and smells of Philly, I was told if I leave, I might go crazy."

Ylva Theodulus: She blushes at that. Letting it slip back into her words.

"Ah. Well that's a shame really. There is so much out there."

Vincent Drake: "Always wanted to visit Paris, Tokyo, Oktoberfest in Germany," he says, walking over and sitting on the floor next to her, "I guess I'll just become an urban legend," he smiles brightly, "I mean, what else am I supposed to do with immortality?"

Ylva Theodulus: There is a tilt of her head.

"Do good? Change the world for the better. Run for government."

Vincent Drake: he considers, "I've been told I'd make a great politician," he laughs, "Do I have your vote, I hear the hot girls demographic is one of the most important for any election." he chuckles, "I'm planning to change this city for the better, need to get my hands dirty to it but I think it might work."

Ylva Theodulus: "Sounds like your wanting to change the city for you. Not for others."

Another blush.

"Not right now. You'd have to earn that. Just like all free naughty boys have to earn anything."

Vincent Drake: "I'm not a naughty boy," he pouts, "If anything, I'm morally complicated, not as simple as being naughty," he grins, "What do you want me to do, how can Vinny be a good boy?" he says, looking with puppy dog eyes

Asbolus: While theoretically he could have called to declare his arrival, the Wyrd demanded a minor Hunt on this particular day and Asbolus obliged it. A smattering of Glamour and one contract use later and the Darkling arrived at the community center with Ylva firmly in his sights, knocking on the frame of the door to the back room to announce his presence. The Darkling was dressed casually in jeans, black t-shirt and jacket to keep off the chill, giving the pair a small smile and a nod. "A lovely set up you have here, Ylva, and good to see you again Vincent."

Ylva Theodulus: "Not be morally complicated is a pretty good start."

She says with a chuckle.

Then Asbolus arrives and she grins widely.

"Hey Asbolus. It's good to see you. Thanks for coming by. This is my start of paying back for my sins."

Vincent Drake: Vincent laughs and gives Asbolus a little salute, "Long time no see," he says to the actor, "How's things going." he smiles

Asbolus: "A fine way to do it. Glad to see you're doing well." He said to Ylva with a smile, then nodded to Vincent. "Things have been going well. The theater is running along properly and some personal projects are in the works."

Ylva Theodulus: "Im doing okay. I've got a coffee date with bae on {insert story teller available time here} so I'm nervous about that."

She does smile watching them interact.

"Im really glad things are going well for you."

Vincent Drake: "Coffee dates are fun, I'm sure you'll have fun," he comments before turning to Asbolus, "I'm more for tv than stage shows, but I'll admit, I am a sucker for musicals, Heathers and Be More Chill are my favorites." he laughs, "Ever notice villain songs are the best?"

Asbolus: "Ah...best of luck. Will it be the first time you've spoken in person since you got back?"

"They can be quite good, yes. I avoided being on stage for the musical productions I was involved in but I do enjoy them as well."

Ylva Theodulus: "Yeah. Well since the first day. Since. Mitchell."

She looks away then chuckles.

"Thought you'd be more a Hadestown fan?"

Vincent Drake: "Why do we build the wall, my children, my children, why do we build the wall?" he sings

Asbolus: "An excellent show, that. Looking at old stories through new lenses is always fascinating and that is one of the best to come out lately."

Ylva Theodulus: "It was actually one of my memories that helped me get out. Huh."

She chuckles.

"Hadn't realised that until now."

Vincent Drake: "Then even more reason to make another memory like that if it was so powerful." he says, "It's like I said to Avery, what's important is making new memories and living your life how you want to live it."

Asbolus: "Indeed. My own snap back to reality as it were came from finding a copy of a Shakespeare play I was always fond of, and thankfully those whom I had been there to capture were willing to let me join them in their escape instead."

Ylva Theodulus: "Its always interesting to me what snapped everyone back. It wasn't that for me. That was just the first step. But. It let me see the beauty of it all. For what it really was."

Vincent Drake: he sits there, not really sure what to add to Lost talk, so he sits and listens, nodding now and then

Asbolus: "It is fascinating. I imagine it reflects in a way how we relate to our own humanity, such as it is these days, and what sits at the core of it for each of us." He glanced towards Vincent at that, not wanting to leave him out of the conversation. "Something I wager you're getting familiar with as well as your current state becomes the norm for you."

Ylva Theodulus: "I hope you manage to retain your humanity. Not all of your kind do."

Vincent Drake: "I know one or two who seemed to lose theirs," he admits, "It's why I'm so happy I have Avery and Maria, they keep me grounded, remind me I'm not invincible, I'm not human anymore but I need to keep what made me human." he chuckles, "I still have my sister but I'm afraid of the day I'm going to have to let her think I die. . .can't keep looking twenty four forever."

Asbolus: "An unfortunate inevitability. When the time comes I hope it goes smoothly for you."

Ylva Theodulus: "We all have to keep grounded to not become the monsters they made us."

Vincent Drake: he sighs, leaning against Ylva, "So, Avy told me about Seemings and Kiths," he said, admitting what he knows about them, "From what I gather our version is Clans and Bloodlines, I'm of Clan Daeva, a group of tempters and seducers but my bloodline is a Scion, meaning the City is as much apart of me as the blood." he explains, icebreakers are fun, "That's what she made of me."

Asbolus: "Indeed." Asbolus nodded to Ylva, finding a convenient chunk of counter to lean against. "In my case I was Chosen by my Keeper to act as one of Her hunting hounds, albeit not in the literal canine sense as some of my brethren, tracking down those who were plotting against Her and bring them back to the fold. I served dutifully, with Her shaping of me taking much of the man who had once been, but there was enough left to find myself once again and escape."

Ylva Theodulus: "I don't want to talk about why He took me. What He made me."

She looks away. Pulling back from Vinny.

Vincent Drake: he sits up straight, "Sorry, bit tired." he says, "I still don't completely get what happened to you folks, never will in all honesty, but I think it's noble you guys try to prevent others from having the same fate."

Asbolus: "Nor do you have to if you don't wish to." He looked towards Ylva, offering an apologetic look. "My apologies."

He then nodded to Vincent. "That and provide an understanding community for those who return. We all needed such guidance ourselves and paying it forward is more than worthwhile."

Ylva Theodulus: "I am still working on paying forward just my human debts let alone my Lost ones."

Vincent Drake: "So, I have a question for you two," he says, thinking it's time for some lighter talk, "Who wants to bet if the Birds are making it to the Super Bowl, I'm more of a Philly's boy and yes, did wreck shit the night they lost to Astros but Birds are still Philly."

Asbolus: "And its good work you're doing." He replied to Ylva with a small smile, holding an arm out for a hug if she felt so inclined.

"I don't follow American football, I'll admit." He offered with a chuckle. "Suppose we'll find out soon enough, though."

Ylva Theodulus: She reaches out for Asbolus. Comfort in shared experience.

"Sorry Vinny. Sports ball. Not my thing. The cute twink on the front desk loves it though."

Vincent Drake: he shrugs, "Like I said, baseball's more my thing, always saw the Super Bowl as an excuse to party. "he admits

Asbolus: Asbolus looped an arm around Ylva's shoulder and gave a light hug, the jacket he wore shielding her from the brunt of the sharpness that his mien radiated. "True enough. I had just gotten back when the Eagles won the Bowl that year and it was something else to see."

Ylva Theodulus: She leans into that hug.

"Nope, I'm confused still. Have a good night boys. Just tell Lee when you leave for the night."

She stands heading to the door.

Vincent Drake: Vincent waves, "See ya."

Asbolus: "You as well, Ylva. Safe travels." He nodded to the Courser as she headed out, then looked towards Vincent. "How have things been going on your end since we spoke last?"

Vincent Drake: "Better," he nods, "Had a bit of a spiraling episode but I'm back, I have a new game plan, new outlook and allies and I'm ready for what the world has to throw at me."

Asbolus: "Glad to hear it. What sort of plans do you have on the horizon?"

Vincent Drake: "Business expansion." he says simply, "Starting by getting some able bodied employees."

Asbolus: "Ah, I see." He nodded quietly. "If you need any assistance down the line do let me know and I'll see what I can do."

Vincent Drake: "I'll remember that." he nods, then looks at his watch, "Shit. .I gotta get going, it was nice talking to you."

Asbolus: "Good talking with you as well. Have a good evening."
