Bellevue Hotel Elysium

Log

Daniel Hawthorne: Another night, another set of projects to be worked on, and on this particular evening Daniel had laid claim to one of the tables in the lounge atop the Bellevue hotel, laptop open and tablet in hand as a newly-refilled mug of tea let out wisps of steam nearby. The Haunt was well-dressed as was his wont, the style casual but expertly tailored, jet-black eyes focused on the screen but his ears perked for any new arrivals.

Titania Sanguine: Titania wasn't one for subtlety and as is her want she arrived in a dramatic fashion this evening. A Snow Owl appearing just beyond one of the windows and shifting into a person as she passes the threshold to the room.

Her long black cloak billowing behind her in the wind. The reds catching the light and reflecting from red eyes and white hair. A cat and a raven made of shadow sitting upon her shoulders as she saunters into the room. A cocky smile on her face as she waits for a response from any present.

Daniel Hawthorne: The sound of wings caught Daniel's keen ear, his attention turned towards the window with a curious quirk of an eyebrow. He blinked as the owl took a more human form, sitting up a little straighter on reflex as the weight of years on Titania's shoulders made themselves apparent and giving her a respectful nod. When he spoke his voice was a pleasant tenor, the almost-British Brahman accent of the upper Bostonian elite clear to hear. "Evening, ma'am."

Titania Sanguine: Titania smiles her tongue running across those fangs, happy at her presence being noted.

"Good evening. I dont think we've had the pleasure. Titania. This is Columbi and Mei." She finishes indicating to her Raven then her Cat. Both of which give Daniel a little nod.

Daniel Hawthorne: "Daniel Hawthorne, good to meet you." The shadowy familiars got a nod of their own as they were motioned to. "Have you been in town long?"

Titania Sanguine: "Not too long this time around, a few months, getting settled again."

She strides over to one of the couches flopping into it. A leathery tail protruding from her coat as she lies on her stomach looking over at Daniel.

"Yourself?"

Daniel Hawthorne: "About eight years at this point." He took a moment to save the piece he was working on, closing the laptop to give the elder Gangrel his full attention. "Came down from Boston."

Titania Sanguine: Titania nods as he closes the Laptop. "Boston is certainly a place I would try to get away from. Philly is just so, chaotic, its nice. Chaotic and simple. Its not as rigid as some of the places ive lived."

Daniel Hawthorne: A wry smirk crossed Daniel's face at that comment, offering a small nod. "I had my reasons for leaving, I'll say that. And agreed; it's been quite the change, but in a good way."

Titania Sanguine: "Its a good city. It has its flaws, they all do really but its where im choosing to spend this vacation."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Vacation?" He inquired, glancing towards the shadow creatures briefly before looking back to Titania herself.

Titania Sanguine: Titania reaches a hand up stroking Mei. "I did some work for the Circle and I get around a Decade of chill time before I go back on ice as it were. Until they need me next."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Ah hah." He nodded, curiosity still piqued. "Who's the 'they', in this case? The Circle?"

Titania Sanguine: She nods again. "Yeah. You dont keep your deadly weapons around all the time. Thats how people end up dead or displeased."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Understandable." He sat back in his seat, letting that thought ruminate. "Do you plan on staying in Philadelphia the whole time, or waiting to see what happens?"

Titania Sanguine: "Thats the plan. Ive set up a nice little spot. I'd rather not relocate again. Its always such a hassle." A tilt of her head. "But we will see what happens." That hand continuing along Mei's tail.

Daniel Hawthorne: "True enough. Even only being a few hours away getting down here was a bit sporting." He picked up his tea and had a sip before continuing, not wanting to let it go to waste. "My sister handled most of the logistics and we made it work."

Titania Sanguine: "Its mostly organizing a food source, making sure my Haven is sorted, that I have somewhere to practice."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Agreed. Practice what, if I may ask?"

Titania Sanguine: "The arcane arts of the Circle." That hand again twitches on Mei. "That is where my little friends come from, they are the void made manifest and bent to my will."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Interesting..." He looked at the feline anew at that, the gears turning a bit in the Dragon's mind. "I'm with the Academy myself so I haven't had that much exposure to the Circle's magics."

Titania Sanguine: There is a hint of a grimace at that. "Oh im sure they have imbued in you opinions of the Circle none the less. We are a young group by their standards and we have fought hard to be seen as equals."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I keep an open mind on that front, personally." He smiled a touch to counter that grimace. "Different ways of looking at things keep you from getting into the rut of repetition that we tend to fall into as time goes on."

Titania Sanguine: A raised eyebrow. "Oh, it is nice to hear that of the younger generation. Those who have always known us as one of the main Covens. I know its a little different here, but its nice to see."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Happy to oblige. Lord knows the Circle has caught enough hell over the decades."

Titania Sanguine: A hearty little chuckle at that.

"Ive caused some of the hell in centuries past and its good to be around those that dont look down upon us."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I never saw the logic behind it, personally, even growing up among the First Estate as I did. We all take our own paths to enlightenment, in whatever form we want it to be."

Titania Sanguine: "People are stuck in their ways, back when we were learning those ways in spite of the opinions of the First Estate they disliked our paths."

She shrugs. "Im glad the times changes, less people around that remember the blood spilt over hatred."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Mmhmm. Part of the inherent inertia that comes with being Kindred, as I see it. I hope to keep that from being as much of a problem as it can be going forward."

Titania Sanguine: "Thats the way I see it." There is a forced sigh. "Others see it as our job to maintain things as closely to how they were. Some forget how much things have changed. When I was embraced it was a diffirent world. I have hopscotched through history and grown with it each time. Waking up to the jump in technology after WWII was a bit of a shock."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I can imagine. Things have changed enough in my lifetime to throw some people off; I can remember one elder in Boston whose retainers had to handle anything technological for them that was more complicated than a phone call." He shook his head quietly. "Almost felt bad for her, although I never said as much."

Titania Sanguine: "I can handle most things myself though wouldnt trust myself to set up firewalls and such."

Daniel Hawthorne: "About the same, admittedly. I can set up my own rigs and do simple repairs but anything more complex than that and I call someone who knows what they're doing."

Titania Sanguine: "Well, im glad its not just me then." There is a chuckle. "I dont use them much outside of phone calls and emails really, dont have the need."

Daniel Hawthorne: "I use it for my business and video games, primarily." He motioned to the closed laptop with a smirk. "I know some folks who can make them do impressive things, though."

Titania Sanguine: Titania smiles another nod and a chuckle. "My work tends to lean more towards the biting the problem side."

"I would like to get into this Video Gaming that a few people have mentioned. It wasnt a thing last time I was awake and i've only just finished learning the basics of computers."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Not a bad thing, that." He chuckled in return. "I'm a fashion designer, myself. Started the studio in Boston and moved it here, and it's been going pretty well."

"That can be arranged, I imagine. Have you heard about any games in particular that jumped out at you?"

Titania Sanguine: She raises an intruiged eye brow at that.

"I might have to come visit. Ive been needed a few less, outrageous coats for when I have to pretend to be human. They dont like me flying in the window apparently."

She chews at her lip before continuing. "I have heard of PokeMon. They seem fun and some of the designs are simply delightful." There is a playfulness to her that you almost wouldnt expect. But then again she does walk around with two pets all the time so thats up to Daniel to decide.

Daniel Hawthorne: "We'd love to have you." He took a moment to pull a slim card case from his pocket, offering her a card for the studio with the shop contact information and address on the front. "I've done pieces for a number of the locals since arriving here."

"That is a fun one, although I haven't been as much into that one these days. The newest installment is coming out soon, though, so it'd be a good time to get in on it."

Titania Sanguine: Columbi bounces forward taking the card and sliding it into her coat.

"Thank you." A smile crosses her face. "Well, perhaps its meant to be Daniel, id quite like it if you could show me the ropes."

Daniel Hawthorne: "Definitely." He replied with a smile. "I'll let you know when I've got the game and I can walk you through it."
