Log

The Sakima is waiting in her office at the Bellevue Hotel Elysium for Floretta to arrive for her annual tithing. Dressed in a long-sleeve black dress and looking corpselike, taut-skin over a literally skeletal frame, her hair back in a single braid down her back. While she's waiting, she's reading a magazine on motorcycles.

Floretta arrives, earlier than the planned time and walks through the Bellevue Hotel, heading toward the Sakima's office. Her hair still bright green, held into a ponytail and she,s wearing a white button up shirt with a pair of slacks, at her side waddles Herbert, who's wearing a rainbow handkerchief around his neck. She's also carrying a suitcase with her other hand. As is appropriate, she approaches the office. "Good evening."

"Floretta. Come on in and shut the door." A pause. "Your hair looks nice in that color."

"Thank you. I figured I'd try something flashier for the Pride month, I may change it back soon, I've had some interesting little projects on that end." A small shake of her head as she tries hard to stop herself from rambling. Her attention is momentarily drawn to the small pup at her feet, who seems curious about the floor at the moment. "Do you mind the additional guest? He can wait outside if you prefer." She says as she prepares to close the door.

"I don't mind him, though he may mind me." After all, she is a very old and pretty scary Nosferatu. "What sort of projects are you working on, these nights?"

Her tone of voice is curious and indulgent, as if trying to draw out that rambling.

She pulls a little on Herbert's leash and goes to the nearest, most socially acceptable seat, leaving her suitcase at the side of it. The little pup explore cautiously in the mean time. "The one I just specifically mentioned would be a switch to a more gothic look with dark hair and a photoshoot to go along with it, Eyrgjafa seemed into it when we discussed the possibilities. Maybe turn it into an art project." a beat. "Besides that I'm working on new duties I've recently acquired within the local academy too and am considering opening my time up a little more to the city too."

"Gothic as in the Visigoths?" Saagochque seems moderately amused by that possibility. "But that photoshoot sounds like it could be fun. I hope you have a good time with it. Even if you don't decide to make it into an art project, it's good to hold onto the moments you have. What are you doing for the academy? Or is that all too secret to tell me?"

"No, more in line with the victorian cult of mourning in term of style, I don't think I know enough about the Visigoth to formulate a modern-appropriate style. " Floretta says, pulling her phone with the trans flag case and shows a picture of Nevermore Usher dressed up as a full goth on Facebook. "Like so" she let the Sakima view as she pleases. "Recently, I helped research something for the Rat Host issue and helped hinder one of the human conspirator." a beat. "Some of it is, but part of the new duties I have is to essentially act as the likes of an Elysium Keeper for my peers and, while there are certainly struggles for me in that particular skillset, I found it also rather an engaging use of my time."

The Sakima leans in to look at the photo of Nevermore, intrigued, before her attention returns to Floretta thoughtfully. "What struggles are you currently having, regarding that work?"

"Basically I currently lack the contacts to make things happen as fast as I need them to or for the right cost. Money is starting to be a little less of an issue." Floretta smiles a little bit. "Something I'm working on." She crosses her legs. "But as I'm finding this engaging, I was wondering if it would be possible to involve myself in helping with one of the Elysium? I don't know for certain if the Bala Cynwyd ever got a replacement, I only heard that Esme took the extra load on herself."

Saagochque inclines her head, thinking for a moment. "No, no one else has expressed interest to the Caucus about taking it over. You think you're prepared for that workload?"

Floretta seems only mildly surprised by the statement but quickly reply, as honest as she can "As of right this moment? No I am not prepared. I don't even fully know what the duties of it entails exactly, but I was hoping to acquired that information and then prepare myself for it." a beat "But I am interested in learning and preparing for it."

The duties are ticked off on Saagochque's thin bony fingers. "A Keeper of the Elysium would be responsible for ensuring its security, enforcing its rules, making sure that supplies are stocked, and making sure the right people are brought in to deal with problems that exceed their capabilities. If you wish to learn, I can tell Esme you'll serve as her assistant for one month, after which time, if you've managed to meet her approval, you will be the Keeper for Bala Cynwyd. How does that sound to you?"

Floretta smiles brightly at the offer. "Well that's certainly one way to learn about how to do the job. That sounds good to me. Her office is still at the Chocolate factory, right?"

"It is, but she's also using Clayton's office at the house." Saagochque nods thoughtfully. "I think that might resolve the opening well. I look forward to seeing you succeed in that role."

"Hopefully that's how it'll end up!" A cheerful, smiling statement and then Floretta reaches for the suitcase and opens it, inside seems to have some folders and pens. Surprisingly well organized, it probably isn't going to last. She search within the case and withdraws a vial with her tithe in vitae inside and hand it over to the Sakima. "My tithe."

"Thank you, Floretta." The Sakima opens the vial and tosses it back like a shot of vodka, before licking her lips. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"A simple curiosity about how you deal with the logistics of drinking Vitae on such a regular basis." A beat "If you feel comfortable sharing such a thing, of course." Floretta closes her suitcase and coax a snoozing Herbert awake gently with a few pet as she seems to be getting ready to leave, but waiting on the Sakima's answer.

"All that you need to know on that matter is that I don't drink from anyone who doesn't give consent. Beyond that, it is mine to deal with, and not really your concern, Floretta." There's a gentle chiding tone to the words, but no actual anger.

Floretta seems to take it in stride too and doesn't lose any of her smile or good humor. "I won't ask again, my apologies." she stands from her seat and picks up the suitcase. "It was a pleasure meeting you again, Sakima."

"Have a safe evening." Saagochque nods, picking up the motorcycle magazine again.
