Soulwardens' Sanctum

Log

Jeremiah Hamilton: When Klaire arrived at the Soulwardens' sanctum Jeremiah was waiting outside for her much like last time, relaxing against the wall by the door with a leather jacket on to keep off the afternoon chill. He gave her a warm smile as she approached, looking her over briefly to see if anything had come up since the last time they'd talked.

Klaire Henriette: Klaire hadn't brought Rook, and was dressed warmly. A nice coat and jeans, and her hair tied back. She looked in good condition, possibly a little lighter on her feet. "Hello Jay, bit cold today."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Just a bit, yeah." He didn't seem too bothered by it, and as she got closer she could feel the warm air circling around him, the cheater. "I welcome you into our sanctum, so long as you bring no harm to it or its residents and abide by the laws of the consilium."

With the formalities done he opened the door all gentlemanly-like, ushering her inside and motioning towards the living room area in the back. "You want anything to drink or eat?"

Klaire Henriette: She fought the urge to stand near that warm air, and went ahead and entered after replying. "Of course, I wish no harm and will abide by all laws."

She takes off her coat once she is inside. "Just a water please. How has your day gone?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Been pretty good." He replied, shucking off his own jacket and the spell keeping him warm with one motion and hanging the former up on a handy coat rack near the door. "Was working on a new piece for a bit when you called."

He ducked into the kitchen to grab two bottle of water then led the way to the living room, motioning for her to take a seat where she liked. "Have you had a chance to talk with Ylva in person yet? Saw the news the other day."

Klaire Henriette: "I don't mean to distract you from your work." She takes the water and sits on the couch.

"I did actually. She stopped by yesterday morning, and woke me up. It was a nice surprise." A pause. "We are hoping to talk to her wife and other partner soon."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "No worries, you're good. I needed to take a break anyway." He sat down beside her on the couch, nodding with a small smile. "That's good, and good luck with that conversation. Wager it's going to be a weird one."

Klaire Henriette: "Breaks are often needed. As are conversations. The current plan is that she got onto a hard drug, and was staying with her dealer until I found her and helped calm her down. I tend to be good at calming down situations when I need. Its close enough to the truth...but vague enough that Ylva doesn't feel bad."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah nodded quietly. "Good a cover as any. Hopefully that'll work out well in the end."

Klaire Henriette: She nods. "I sure hope so...she deserves some level of normalcy."

She looks over at Jay. "Thank you for helping me realize I was being the asshole before. You and Ylva both."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "You're welcome." He smirked a touch. "Lord knows I've needed that talk myself before, and I'm glad to have helped you in turn."

Klaire Henriette: "Changing perspectives are hard. But they are necessary."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Agreed, and I am proud of you for seeing that necessity. Some people would've just blown it off and kept going, but being willing to take that step and allow that sort of personal growth is admirable."

Klaire Henriette: She nods. "Ylva and other her partners have... come from a way harder life than I have. My parents are rich and act like it. I never quite liked that. It took Ylva talking to me to realize that...I was following them too closely, and that wasn't who I wanted to be."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Mine do as well, and it took me going to a public high school and meeting folks outside of my family's circle for that to really click for me. It was an interesting lesson to learn, for sure, but a good one."

Klaire Henriette: She nods, relaxing into the couch.

"Thank you again, for helping me walk away that evening. It gave me a chance to repair the bridge I burned."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Happy to help. Have you talked with Charleville again since then?"

Klaire Henriette: She shakes her head. "Haven't had a good moment quite yet. Talking to my bank now, I am planning on contributing to the bail fund with about [insert low resources 5 amount] but need to wait for that to come through. I don't want to promise money I don't have my hands on quite yet."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Good call, and I'm sure he'll appreciate it, as long as you keep doing the work alongside it."

Klaire Henriette: She nods and sighs. "I will try. I know I don't want to go back to the Free Council. I have....thought a bunch and had two ideas. After talking to Ylva...I think I know which I am feeling closer to."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Oh?" He perked up at that, smiling a touch. "What're you thinking?"

Klaire Henriette: She takes a single breath. "The Mysterium or the Silver Ladder both interested me for different reasons. I already talked to Bones about the Mysterium...but after talking with Ylva I'm less certain of that option." She lets the decision remain silent.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I see." He nodded, that little smile still in place. "If you think that'll work best for you I can pass that along to the Deacon to set up a meeting."

Klaire Henriette: She frowns. "Do you think I would fit well within the Silver Ladder? Before I ask you to do that."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I think you would, yes. You have the passion for improving the world around you, and you've taken to heart the lessons put before you thus far."

Klaire Henriette: She gives a proud smile. "I'm glad you think so. Could you tell me...well more or less what to expect."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That...is a good question, admittedly. My own initiation was under a different Deacon back in Los Angeles, so I can't say for sure what Zadok will ask of you. The Precepts will likely be a big part of it, though; we've touched on that a bit with the talk of the Sage and all that, and I can go into more depth with you on it."

Klaire Henriette: She nods. "If you wouldn't mind, I would not like to be completely lost when talking to the Deacon."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Of course." He nodded with a smile. "Can get into the nitty gritty after getting food in, maybe? It'll take some time to go through properly."

Klaire Henriette: She agrees with a smile. "Like I said last time, every talk is better over food."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Indeed. Got any preferences?"

Klaire Henriette: "Not particularly. But I can help cook. What are you in the mood for?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Pasta's usually a safe bet. Pretty sure we've got some Italian sausage rolling around somewhere..."

With that he hopped up off the couch, offering her a hand up along with a smile. "Shall we?"
