Kayla Sockum: Kay is down in the basement, wearing a white, massively oversized hoodie, magic tools strewn around messily with earbuds in. An empty cup of tea is next to them. "There is no emotion, there is peace." she mumbles, reciting the Jedi code for some unreasonably random reason. "There's no ignorance, there is knowledge."

Their eyes open before she can even blurt out the next line and exhale loud and heavily, letting out a frustrated grunt. "I will not use mind magic to deal with this, I will not use mind magic to deal with this, I will not use mind magic to deal with this...."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Almost as if he could sense the disturbance in the Force, Jeremiah had decided to head downstairs upon returning home from work rather than going straight back to his room, peeking his head inside the basement area before smirking a touch at spotting Kay there. "Hey. Everything good?"

Kayla Sockum: "Not really, everything is more of less garbage." Kay looks up to Jay and tilt their head a little to the side. "The aftermath of everything that's happened in Balm's mind has been way more unpleasant and confusing than I every wanted anything to be and a lot of it is probably just me being selfish."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Sorry to hear that." He frowned quietly as he stepped into the room proper, taking a seat beside her. "Happy to listen if that'll help."

Kayla Sockum: "Actually, I'd like to hear what you thought of everything, maybe your perspective would help me." Kay asks looking around and inviting Jay to sit with them with just a simple gesture and throw of a cushion for better seating arrangement. "Maybe I could put words more clearly on what I feell after that."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It was beyond anything that I've ever experienced, personally." He began as he got settled on the offered cushion, running the events back through his mind to find the proper words for them. "Being involved in something so...personal for her, helping her to carve a path to the Supernal and beyond...I was honored to have been there, and to see it come to fruition. Let alone the fact that Mary and Amos came through as their own selves again along with it."

Kayla Sockum: "Being in the mind of Balm was eye opening in many ways. I saw the end of a mind, I saw an ascension from within a dying mind, I saw the final flare of it and I know a piece of my essence was carried to the Supernal. There's no greater height I could reach without making the journey myself." Kay almost wax poetic as she speaks, echoing Jay's sentiment at least in some way.

"But my eyes being open made me see thing I..." A deep breath "I am angry at seeing." their fist clench and expression turns into a rare scowl which softens as she speaks further.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That...did hit me hard, I won't lie. Being there as everything shut down." He suppressed a quick shudder as that memory arose. "Reminded me of that last astral trip we took that I told you about, with the endless black."

"Oh?" Cue a curious arch of the eyebrow, along with offering them a hand to take if Kay so wished. "Like?"

Kayla Sockum: "It's also a very complicated feelings here, because what's happening is good, right?" A beat "That little version of me? I never knew I ate a Dragonblood fruit, and I learned that now... and I'm not sure what I saw here, if it wasn't just a re-creation of how I made my way over the abyss, if Balm didn't reach back in time to save me in some way."

For a moment it seems as if Kay tries to formulate something else, but they gives up on it obviously.

Kay frowns "Giving little me some of the spores from my legacy... that she then took to Stygia." Kay sigh. "I can feel her there, dream her there. Playing dolly with the mushroom that are growing now."

"All good things, I feel." She shake her head. "And I am unspeakably angry. I feel like it's all been... a big chessboard that I've been moved on."

"And I agree with the goals, ultimately, I think. But it doesn't help how mad I am."

"I don't think Amos likes me very much and I'm not sure if I do either."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I can follow you there, yeah. Bit too much of a feeling like being a pawn in some cosmic game to be moved around like someone else sees fit, yeah?"

"What happened with you and Amos?"

Kayla Sockum: "He's also an Emissary of Renewal, my Legacy. I heard about that and I was curious about how that was possible." Kay shakes their head "And these people have been through so many terrible things, so... many terrible things. And it's not over even." they blink away a few tears.

"And he got a little snippy, like, legitimately nothing major, with me when I went with that question first, said I was getting ahead of myself." They frowns as they begin venting their frustration "Yes, of course, the thing I litterally shaped my soul into, spent years obessing over how and what I'd do with it, planning it, researching it, figuring out everything... And you just... have it in your soul without me teaching it to you."

"Little me in Stygia apparently did it." Another deep breath. "Which is, you'll note, not me." Kay takes a beat "But of course, I'm supposed to set what's been my obsession for years aside. That's the right, proper, wise thing to do."

"He misses part of his life with the other people that were with him, and it'd be right that we don't stop him from returning or communicating with them if that's what he wants. And I get it, I understand." A shrug "Nevermind that it means he could just... get studied by those who did it to him and they could get their hand on MY legacy from it and all that before I could get to teach it, to do it the way I planned, the way I wanted."

"So it's all selfish. Me me me, my work, my legacy, my efforts, my place in the universe, Woe is me and all that." A shrug. "All of the good we accomplished and I'm sitting here like souring grapes."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah listened intently as they spoke, nodding in the right places and looking them over as they finished. "That is a completely legitimate way to feel, in my mind. You can both be happy for what we were able to accomplish and to feel like a big moment was taken from you at the same time."

Kayla Sockum: "I suppose that's true. I just... I just need to figure out a way to deal with how I feel without fucking everything up." Kay pushes themselves off of the ground, then dust the white hoodie quickly. "But this whole thing did make me realize just how more active they are in spaces we barely keep an eye on..."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. Could set up a sound field and let you scream it out in peace, if anything." He offered with a smirk, moving to stand beside them and nod. "Yeah, agreed. We've got a lot of work to do, but we've got the right people on it in my book."

Kayla Sockum: "I also might be considering summoning the supernal spirit of my little me to have a chat with it? Her? I'll have to ask." A shrug "And I just know this'll be strange and weird and I might require some assistance doing that and making sure it's a safe thing to do for both us and them."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That'd...be an idea, yeah." He nodded quietly. "Would probably be pretty enlightening overall."

Kayla Sockum: "Or it might end up being a catastrophe too, I really don't want to mess with our success just because I'm being nosy about some random stuff, you know?" Kay points up the stairs "I'm hungry, I'm going to grab a snack, want to join me?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "True. May want to let the dust - or the spores, as it were - settle and see where things lie." He said with a quiet smile, making an 'after you' motion towards the stairs. "Lead on."

Kayla Sockum: "Spending the afternoon brooding made me hungry, who knew." Kay opens the door to the fridge and taps their chin, considering. "I think I want something extra greasy honestly, so, think we could order take out? We've been reasonable lately, right?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Definitely. Been riding my bike to work more often lately since I can be my own personal space heater." He replied with a chuckle, pulling his phone to peruse their meal options. "You thinking pizza, burger, something else..."

Kayla Sockum: "Hmm, probably something a little fancier? Chinese or something?" Kay grabs a bottle of water and offers one to Jay, with the arms that has her sophis bracelet. "New tool, by the way. Made it myself with the stuff I asked you and Hearth to get a few months ago."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Chinese sounds good. Your usual, or want to change it up a bit?" He tapped through the phone to one of the local Chinese spots, putting in his part of the order while he waited for their reply. When the bottle was offered he took it, looking over the bracelet. "Ah, nice. I'm pretty happy with my set at the moment, although I have noticed that with my last jaunt up the Tower steps my Nimbus has shifted. It's stayed pretty much the same throughout, so that was a surprise."

Kayla Sockum: "Mine still hasn't materialized after the last little jump it can take." Kay says. "And yeah, my usual, that'll be fine for the greasy cravings." they grin "The bracelet helps with transformation magic, among other things, so it's super helpful."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Mmm. Thinking mine might've happened because I went over that first 'big league' jump this time around. Who can say, though." He offered a shrug, punching in her order along with getting something for the rest of the cadre so they could nosh later if they so wished. "Nice. That reminds me...still want to work with you on the Matter front at some point."

Kayla Sockum: "For sure! Do you know any already?" Kay asks, sending a text from their phone, before pocketing it. "Thanks for letting me rant and listening, by the way, I feel a little lighter."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Not a bit. Matter and my path don't get along at all, so I never really looked into it. That whole shrinking trick has really opened my eyes, though." He said with a smirk, nodding as he held an arm out for them to slid in for a hug if they wished. "You're welcome. Happy to be there for you."

Kayla Sockum: They give the hug, of course, holding firmly for a while, swaying from side to side while it lasts. "I know one of the earlier spell we can do uploads some kind of knowledge about the object you use it on, so, that might be an helpful approach."

"How long before the food gets here?" Kay asks, craning her neck to see a nearby clock

Jeremiah Hamilton: The hug was a good, firm one, lasting as long as Kay liked. "That'd be cool. I am ready to learn in whatever manner you deem best."

"'bout 20 minutes, according to the app."

Kayla Sockum: "If you want to grab your guitar or something you can play on, I can try and show you how get information from objects and their purposes." Kay asks, feigning innocence at requesting a guitar and Jeremiah be in the same room, little, obvious shit that they can still be sometimes.

"20 minutes is plenty of time for it too."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah smirked at that, giving them a "I see through your ploy" look before chuckling. "Sure. One sec."

With that he slipped out of the kitchen and headed up to his bedroom, returning with the guitar in its case in short order. "Living room, I presume?"

Kayla Sockum: "Sure!" Kay claps their hands excitedly and then goes there to prepare the room for it.
