Ordo Dracul Chapterhouse

Log

Floretta is lounging in the couch with a cushion planted over her face, she's dressed in black slack and white button up shirt, suspenders discarded to the side and make up on full. She's occasionally bursting into harsh whispering of swear words muffled by the cushion. Her typical study stuff is all around the fucking place around her. Herbert is likely the source of the noise coming from her office.

Eyrgjafa blinks as she enters, walking over to the other Dragon. "Are you okay? What's going on?"

Floretta just takes the cushion off of her face and does the most insincere, to the point of being absurd, smile. "Everything is fine I totally didn't convince a bunch of restaurant staff to form a damn cult for us." She slams the cushion over her face and set it aside. "I have access to the boat, a nice way to keep everyone employed and possible an easy and honest way to feed out of it, but I have no idea why that was any sort of an idea that came over me."

"...Okay, I have to admit that I was not expecting that answer." Eyrgjafa moves to sit opposite. "Just to be clear, you're saying that you managed to turn the restaurant staff into a small communal herd?"

"That would only be secondary to what I did honestly." She cross her arms over her chest. "You know how... I think Tahmina, has a heard of people who knows? Or I heard there was one of the elders in town who had that." she shakes her head "They're already super into ghost, they already are curious about the occult, It was really easy to shape it into something a little ... safer? Less 'try and see who get burns' kind of thing they had going?"

"I'm familiar with Tahmina's situation, yes." Eyrgjafa is one of her family, after all. "If they're not competing to get themselves burned any longer, what are they doing now, instead?"

"I'm slowly working on turning them more careful, looking for secrets and knowledge but realizing that what they have now is important." She shrug "It's not exactly settled in yet, it's pretty much a thing that could fall apart if our approach of the boat fucks up something. I'm just a little... overwhelmed by the amount of dumbass energy it took to do it."

"Okay." Eyrgjafa lets out a long, slow, - and totally unnecessary, since she's not Blushed - breath. "Thank you for saving them from themselves, then. I assume this is going to present complications in our acquiring it as a new chapterhouse, let alone a new crucible, though?"

"Probably not, honestly? I'm almost certain we could just peacefully overtake the building or like buy it without much of an issue." She shrug "They could be a front, they could even help with some of the coil, they could be research assistant or provide us with portion of the restaurant's fund" she shrugs "I mean, I know I'm the one who was against that at first, but I didn't realize those people were that into the ghost and mysteries around it."

"So... choosing the boat is more advantageous than it appeared initially? I'm not sure why that was cause for screaming into a pillow, or whatever it was you were doing."

"Because now I have to manage this thing in addition to the rest? And that stresses me a lot and I'm having second thoughts?" A shrug. "To be honest I've been finding things a lot more stressful lately."

"Okay. Is the added stress anything I can help relieve, even just by talking about it? I might not be a Confessor, but making sure we Dragons stay psychologically healthy is still important to me."

"Probably! It would really help if you could make it so Rena wasn't scared of dog, I could be holding him right now." She explains with a mild chuckle. "But otherwise, I don't know, helping me figure out a way to do this without being a giant asshole about it would be helpful."

"I think achieving that first one is going to be a lengthy process, sorry. Unless you've figured out how to travel back in time while I wasn't looking?" Eyrgjafa sighs. "Is your problem that you don't want to manipulate the restaurant workers into worshipping us, or that you don't want to be the one to do it?"

"I don't want a bunch of worshippers and that's not really what I'm aiming to do here anyway." She shrugs. "Agents, a Facade, people to help when we can't act, maybe in the long run. We don,t need worshippers for that. I don't think so at least."

"I think I misunderstood what you said earlier, then. Sorry." Eyrgjafa pauses for a moment, chewing on her lower lip in thought. "Having a group of mortal agents to act for us when we can't, whether due to the daystar or simple lack of the relevant skills, would be good, though, I agree."

"I probably said something a little weird too, it's not like any of it is set in stone." She stretches. "They're curious about the occult and the ghost and the wyrm nest might help them a bit." she looks to Eyrgjafa. "I just want to guide them to do so safely? We could benefit from waht they learn, what they can do."

"Reasonable enough," Eyrgjafa nods. "How much of a clue do they have about occult matters in general?"

"Right now it's limited to ghosts for the most part, they have a grasp of what matters in a ritual, they have a solid amount of self control and resolve and it'd be easy to push the little gossiping and nosiness to get them more invested in investigation." She talks about her assessment. "The restaurant is a good spot to test a few of their skills."

"Good to know." Floretta gets a considering look. "They don't know about us yet, then?"

"I don't think they know yet." A beat. "But I'm pretty sure they will put two and two together eventually, no real way around it." Sitting up, she looks at Eyrgjafa "Which is why I'm thinking of asking Tahmina for pointers."

"Okay. Do you want me to approach her about setting up a meeting to discuss this?" Eyrgjafa asks, leaning in. "I don't have much, or, well, any experience managing a group of people who know about us but aren't at least part of their own supernatural society."

"I could set up the meeting on my own, but if you'd want to do it, that'd be good too." She smiles. "Thank you for offering." she reaches for the other kindred. "Not like it's incredibly urgent, I'm planning on working on the Wyrm nest and acquiring it first."

Eyrgjafa lets the other vampire take her hand, shrugging slightly. "She's family, so it's easy for me to get a meeting with her, even setting aside our both being Dragons." Beat. "I've not been doing much on the Wyrm's Nest situation since we decided on the Moshulu, though. Things keep coming up, recently."

"Yeah the night isn't staying quiet lately." She shake her head there for a moment, smiling. "Lots of movement and unrest, we live in interesting times, unfortunately."

"All times are interesting to those living in them, I think." Eyrgjafa shrugs again. "Whether subsequent generations, or even those same people looking back, will agree, is a different matter."

"Also I... met with your sister at Penny Dreadful!" Floretta exclaim out of no where.

"Oh, you did? How did that go?" Eyrgjafa seems slightly surprised, but curious nonetheless.

"Honestly, It went better than I expected... I sort of wanted to know her better because I saw important she was to you." Floretta and shrug. "I... didn't expect we'd share that much."

Eyrgjafa pauses for a moment, considering Floretta before speaking. "Yes, well. A number of the things you and Rhea have in common are not my secret to reveal." She smiles then. "She is very important to me, though, yes."

"I would never blame you for not sharing that, Eyrgjafa." She squeeze the hand. "I'm glad she told me, I'm glad it happened the way it did. I'm glad you have her."

"Oh, believe, I'm glad to have her too. I would happily make the blood eagle of my sire, but Rhea... she is my sister by blood, yes, but even above that, my sister by choice. That bond is invaluable."

Floretta smiles and she moves toward her office slowly. "I'm getting Herbert out of my office, warn me if you hear Rena coming."

"Of course."

Floretta returns with the fluffy dog in her arms, he seems very happy to meet with her again, licking her face. "How are you holding up?"

"Decent. Phaedra and I met with Washington a few nights ago, he's going to look into the possibility that Rihat arrived in the city via the port." A sigh. "Apart from that, we're in a bit of a holding pattern, where the mermaid situation is concerned." Eyrgjafa pauses, glancing from Herbert to Floretta. "You haven't fallen victim to whoever's been attacking neonates, have you?"

"I haven't no, I think he'd have a little bit of a surprise." she shrug "Not that I would like, stand a chance against him, but, I'm not exactly a new born either, I could escape probably."

"Probably, but... I find it interesting that they're only going after neonates travelling alone and openly, not under Obfuscate. Whether they don't know Auspex or want us to think they don't know Auspex I'm not sure of, yet."

"They're also not likely a dragon, they'd know about the blood coil, probably." A shrug of her shoulder, still playing with the dog in her arm. "I think he wants to go on a walk, want to come with?"

"True. If they are a Dragon who's mastered the third tier of the Blood, their blood must be extremely potent, to need Vitae for nourishment." Eyrgjafa sighs, standing. "Going for a walk sounds good, though."
