Asbolus: The pub was a smaller out of the way place, populated by rough and tumble regulars and staff that took no shit when the trendchasers did show up on occasion. If you kept your head down and avoided causing a ruckus you were eventually welcomed, and it was for just that reason that Asbolus had made it a somewhat regular stomping ground. The Darkling was standing at the line one of the dart boards dressed casually to match the crowd, idly checking the balance on the dart he had in hand while he looked over the board.
Joy Hamidi: The tiny tree waddles into view from within the crowd and set a pair of drinks nearby. She picks a set of dart from the nearest table and joins Asbolus at the line. "Got us some drinks." she said without much expression as she bounces into place. "Want to go first?" She's in jeans a hoodie with just a green leaf printed on the front.
Asbolus: "Thank you." He nodded to Joy as she approached, making an 'after you' motion towards the board. "Have at it."
Joy Hamidi: The dart flies from her hand and lands close to the middle, but doesn't quite score big. Second dart hits further out from the middle and then the third dart lands almost out of the dart board, but hit the bottom of it for an okay score. "Thanks. How's you been?"
Asbolus: "Well enough, all told. Working as the manager for a new theater that opened up recently, so I've been settling in there for the most part. Yourself?"
Joy Hamidi: "Managed to get a pokemon I wanted, pretty much." a thin smirk. "I did some peeking around the other side."
Asbolus: "Ah...I see." He gave a knowing nod, smiling as he set up on the line to send his own barrage of darts down the lane. "One of my roommates got a new pet as well. Quite the sweetheart, all told."
Joy Hamidi: "What kind of pet? Also pokemon are video game thing." she explain, realizing people might not know. Joy watches where the dart lands. "Nice."
Asbolus: "A dog, can't say the breed off-hand. Stumbled across her unawares at a shelter here in town, which was quite the surprise considering." He smirked as the darts landed true, moving down to collect both his set and hers before offering Joy hers and moving to the side to clear the lane. "Never got into the game myself but I've heard enough about it. Was always more of a reader growing up."
Joy Hamidi: "Me too." She replies and fiddles with the dart, wondering a little bit. "Got my shiny bonsly from an egg." she throws her three darts in rapid succession. The third one misses the target, she snap her fingers. "Damn it, was trying to be cute with the score."
Asbolus: "An egg, eh? Take it there's some sort of breeding element involved?" He inquired as he watched her throw, wincing in sympathy as the third dart flew wide. "So close, and yet so far..."
Joy Hamidi: "I was trying to get a 69 score." She says under her breath, not even smiling at her own joke. "But missed the 26 pointer." a shrug. "Yeah, there's an element of that since the second generation of games. You leave 2 different pokemon and if they share an egg group, they get an egg that's the mother's species with move eligible from the father's known one." a shrug "Bonsly is specifically a baby pokemon, can't be acquired in other ways."
Asbolus: "Ah hah..." He replied with a chuckle, taking his place on the line as she explained. "Interesting. Sounds a lot more complex than when it first came out. Not a bad thing, that."
Joy Hamidi: "There's a lot of hidden stuff in the game, you need to look at online resources to figure some of it out, especially with older games like platinum." Joy explain. "Like just breeding is more complex than what I just said, but I'd like to retain some semblance of credibility for my resting face." to which she points, she has a stern resting face.
Asbolus: "I see...fair enough." He said with a small smirk of his own. "Nothing wrong with taking joy in what interests you, however."
Joy Hamidi: "I know, but sharing too much is a bit weird for the upcoming season." Joy says with a little shrug.
Asbolus: "True, although we do have a few weeks before that." He turned his focus to the board for a moment, sending his darts down the lane with a fair bit of precision. "Have you heard about anything in the works for that, as an aside?"
Joy Hamidi: "I haven't heard anything, no." A shake of her head. "Only thing I heard was probably going to be some kind of holiday stuff for personal thing." a shrug.
