Consilium Hall

Log

Klaire Henriette: Klaire was sitting in consilium hall, a gallon jug of water in front of her. As she focused she lifted it with her mind, Force showing from the telekenesis.

She takes a deep breath and focuses, rotating it in the air and focusing on control.

Adam Harken: Adam walked into the hall, not wearing the mask today so it's Adam. . or is Adam the mask, Guardians, ya never know. Dress pants, suit jacket and purple shirt, the usual combination, he was silent as he saw Klaire practicing her skill, not making a sound that would disturb her as he watched.

Klaire Henriette: She takes another deep breath, looking over her shoulder.

"You may join me if you wish. You are dressed nicely, whats the occasion?"

Adam Harken: "Sorry, didn't mean to disturb your practice." he said, walking a tad closer, "This is my business casual," he shrugged, "If I'm going to do a job I'm going to look damned good while doing it."

Klaire Henriette: She gestures to the next row over.

"Im working on fine control, and realizing it is more...a hammer than a scalpel of an ability."

She looks in very good control of the water jug.

"What job if I'm allowed to ask?"

Adam Harken: "Finding good jobs for talented actors," he smiled, "Haggle, getting good deals, seeing that all their needs are met," he looked over his phone, "Oh, that's a good price," he mussed

Klaire Henriette: "Seems helpful, I'm glad they have you there to support them."

She focuses upward, and the gallon jug rises, her brow furrows as she focuses.

"I feel as if I have gotten off on the wrong foot with many of the Awakened...and my partner helped me realize that. I want to...try to be friendlier, and work on those relationships, yourself included. I apologize for...in short, being a bit of an asshole."

Adam Harken: he blinked, "I don't think you've been an asshole to me, and if so then clearly I've been a tad dense." he chuckled, "So, Ylva has offered you sage wisdom," he looked around the Hall, "I don't think anyone who stepped over to this side started out without pissing people off, I know I did."

Klaire Henriette: "If you hadn't noticed, I am often blunt. She encouraged me to change that."

She takes a deep breath.

"You are...offputting to me in all honesty. You are aware of how to get what you want, and it makes me a bit defensive. I have realized my approach to most that act like you would be...to read your mind to figure out your motivations, and that's likely not healthy. And has led to me being unnecessarily defensive around you, instead of just asking or even just holding a discussion with you."

Adam Harken: he nodded, "Good, you realized I know how to play people and acted accordingly to prevent that," he said, his voice having a hint of approval, "But we are co-workers, so while that would be a decent strategy against a stranger, I would like us to be friends," he chuckled, "And I'm sure some of my usual methods you are immune to." he joked, "So, if your unsure of me ask away."

Klaire Henriette: She frowns.

"Co-workers, yes. I would enjoy being friends too. Rather than strangers with mutual friends."

She lowers the jug again.

"I am trying to rely less on my usual methods. I...how do I out it is the question here." A small sigh. "What are your goals? Your motivations? What do you want in life?"

Adam Harken: He leans back to a wall, if not for the fact it's the hall he'd light a cig, "My goals. . .live well, eat the finest foods, drink the finest drink, bed the finest people," he shrugged, "Sorry to be crass, but that's what I would say my mundane goals are, if we're talking work, start a cult, gain influence, finding potential folxs to bring into the fold, also burn down a certain someone to the ground, but that's niether here nor there." he sighed, "My motivations. . .faith." he said simply, "Faith that one day, all the shit and blood I've drowned in will make a difference."

Klaire Henriette: "You are an ambitious person, Thespis, which can be a good or bad thing depending. You have a lot of goals, all in persuit of making that difference...and I believe you will. Just remember to focus on those around you, and not just yourself, and you'll do great things."

She offers a small smile, the lapse in concentration causing the bottle to fall, and she reaches out and catches it with her mind again, wincing.

Adam Harken: "So, what are your own goals then?" he raised an eyebrow, "What do you want out of life."

Klaire Henriette: She lowers the bottle to the ground, taking a break.

"Im a caring person, who wants those I care about to be okay. That's part of what pushed me into criminology, helping those that needed it. As my abilities developed...missing person's cases just felt natural."

A small smile as she thinks.

"But especially for Ylva, Astrid, and Jenny...I care for them deeply and want them to be happy."

A look around.

"I guess...besides that, I am a curious person. I was always careful about prying too deep into this side of things directly. Since becoming a part of the Consilium, my understanding of the world has grown in leaps and bounds, which just causes me to want to learn even more."

Adam Harken: "Looking after your own, a noble goal which I feel everybody has a stake in in some small form or another, whether it's family, friends, lovers, everyone wants to protect their chosen pack as it where." he smiled, "Some things are best left forgotten though, you should be careful what you seek."

Klaire Henriette: "Exactly, which has caused me some trouble in the split between Klaire and Psyche...that I want to speak with Sirius about, but currently can't. I'm...attempting to stay Klaire for now."

She nods.

"I know when to back off, don't worry, but that doesn't stop me from wondering what is out there. I will follow other's lead for that at least."

Adam Harken: "So, Klaire and Psyche, what's the difference between the two?"

Klaire Henriette: She sighs.

"The original difference was that Klaire was the investigative side of me. Concise, neutral, everything I wanted to show in my office at work. Psyche was the lover. The caring part of me that would do impossible tasks for her friends and family. My problem was that I kept finding...grey areas. Ones that I just could not figure out who to be, and it left me feeling split. It just...wasn't developed enough."

She looks to Adam.

"What is the difference between Adam and Thespis?"

Adam Harken: "Adam is carefree, Adam is a lover of vices who parties hard and crashes with grace, a guy ready to hand out some good shit and spend the night seeing to someones. . .needs," he chuckled, "Thespis. . .he is cold, calculating, ruthless, willing to do anything short of breaking the Lex Magica to achieve his goals."

Klaire Henriette: "I can see what inspired Adam, but what inspired Thespis?"

Adam Harken: he stops and thinks for a second, "Duty." he says simply, "To the Wise, to the Order, to the right thing." he stares off a bit, "Thespis is a sinner, one whose sins are necessary to keep everyone else clean."

Klaire Henriette: She nods.

"The neccesary evil, as unfortunate as it might be."

Adam Harken: "But hey, sometimes ya need to break a few eggs," he shrugs, "But then again, being a tad manipulative helped in LA," he laughs, trying to change the flow of the convo, "Ever listen to the Legally Blond musical, Blood in the Water, fits with agents as much as it does lawyers."

Klaire Henriette: She frowns.

"I didn't mean to be judgemental. I apologize. But no, I haven't actually."

Adam Harken: "No no, it's fine," he waves his hand, "Trust me, I don't think anything of people judging me, it's like water flowing past me."

Jeremiah Hamilton: As the pair talked a familiar face emerged from one of the side rooms, pausing as he scanned the hall and saw who was already present. Jeremiah stood quietly for a moment, visibly debating something before eventually heading their way with a small smile. "Afternoon."

Klaire Henriette: She nods.

"A good trait to have, in all honesty."

She visibly freezes when Sirius arrives, looking to the door, but electing to stay still. The Mage can likely still feel the forces of her Telekenisis on her, and the currently resting gallon of water on a nearby seat that was very out of place.

"Afternoon, Sirius. I hope you have been well."

Adam Harken: "Sirius, good to see you." he nodded, making a mental note of Klaires reaction, "How's the engagement been?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: Seeing Klaire freeze like that made his heart twist but he kept his features even, nodding to Adam in return. "Been doing well overall, can't complain. Figured it'd be rude if I didn't come over and at least say hi."

"How have you two been?"

Klaire Henriette: She relaxes a bit as he talks to her. She figured he would know better, so...lets just hope. That doesn't stop her from looking conflicted.

"I am glad you came over to say hi. It's been a while."

For...obvious reasons.

"Struggling, but I'm here."

Adam Harken: "My life has been going well, Agency kicked off, in a Cadre with the best two people in the world, only complaint is the fact I'd rather not turn thirty two this week."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It has been, yeah. Hopefully we'll get everything resolved soon, though."

"Time marches onward for all of us, magic not withstanding." He said with a small smirk. "32's not too bad, though."

Klaire Henriette: She nods, opening her mouth, but closing it to keep opinions to herself.

"Happy early birthday."

Adam Harken: "Thanks, it's Thursday and I think I'm heading to Ocean City for the day, was looking up Beach Houses," he waved his phone, "was thinking of getting one before the Summer, that's something Philly sadly lacks, not a coastal town."

Klaire Henriette: Klaire also very clearly has opinions about beach houses. Which she also keeps to herself. She has a lot of opinions cause its Klaire.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Could be fun. Just going to be you or the cadre tagging along as well?" Cue Jeremiah subtly holding an arm out, letting Klaire sneak in for a quick hug if she so desired.

Adam Harken: "I'll invite the others, see if they want to come." he nodded, "It's not exactly warm yet but I wanted to see what Jersey beaches have to offer, was also a boardwalk fan."

Klaire Henriette: She looked relieved that he was still willing to give a hug, taking the side hug before sitting back into her seat.

"I should see if Ylva wanted to go out to the beach at some point. Maybe bring along Astrid and Jenny too. I do have the subtle feeling half the day will be collectively gawking at other swimmers."

She gives an amused smile, trying to relax.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That's the best part of going to the beach, though." He replied to Klaire with a chuckle, giving her a squeeze. "I haven't been in a while myself...prolly since leaving LA, now that I think about it."

Adam Harken: "It really is," he chuckled, "I mean, I brought my boat with me, what am I supposed to do, cruise around the Schuylkill all day?"

Klaire Henriette: Her eyes crinkle in displeasure, but she takes a slow breath.

"I frankly find the water to be nice, or the sounds of crashing waves."

A small chuckle.

"Rook loves the water but hates needing to be dried after...and then needing a bath."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Spotting her reaction Jeremiah gave Klaire an apologetic look, nodding as she continued. "Yeah, bath time is always interesting for Tiresias. Some days he's game for it and others it's all claws, just have to see how he's feeling that day."

Adam Harken: "Freddy isn't ready for a tub yet, have to use a small bowl." he commented, "That, and cats just don't like water."

Klaire Henriette: A shrug in Jay's direction.

"Is it Hubris to use Forces to bathe a cat? I feel like there should be an exception. If you've tried everything else..."

Was that a joke...from Klaire? Is she doing alright?

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Some might see it as such." Jeremiah chuckled, eyeing Adam at that. "Since I studied Life enough to be able to talk him through it it's gotten easier, though."

Adam Harken: "I need to pick up Life," he muttered, "Life and Prime are on my list, should look into Spirit sometime too," he turned to Klaire, "And yes, it is Hubris to do that."

Klaire Henriette: She nods.

"I see. I am slowly learning the terms. Telepathy with Rook just leads him to complain to my mind directly about how I don't love him by forcing him to bathe. I do admit, I'm very appreciative of those with Life."

A nod to Jay with that notion.

Adam Harken: Thespis chuckled at the thought of Rook verbally complaining about Bath Time, "So, I don't think I asked, how did you first come to find Rook?"

Klaire Henriette: She gives a thoughtful smile. This was a good topic for her. She liked this topic.

"It was shortly after college. My therapist recommended a service animal for my anxiety, and right about the same time, he was retiring from Search and Rescue. Most dogs can unfortunatly only handle the physical strain for a few years in that line of work, and so the past 5 years he has happily kept up a similar line of work with me."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It ties in well with the studies of the Path that I follow since its progenitor was a Thyrsus, and it's come to good use since." He nodded to Klaire in return, giving her a small smile.

"Nice. I found Tiresias near the cafe a few years back. He was born blind and someone had just left him, so I brought him in and he's been with me since."

Adam Harken: "I used to have a cat, ex took it when we split, just got a new once last month."

Klaire Henriette: "The Illumined Path or something else?"

Her eyebrow raised in curiosity.

"I'm glad you were able to bring him in Jay, and I am glad you were able to adopt a cat so quickly, Adam."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "The legacy, yes. It holds Prime as it's main focus, tied to seeing and showing the truth of the world around us as it is, but allows for some special attainments through Life and Spirit as well. Spirit's one I haven't touched on yet, might do so down the road, though."

Adam Harken: "I haven't given much thought to a Legacy yet, maybe I should look into one."

Klaire Henriette: "Interesting...I admit I still have very little idea how Legacies and Attainments work, but did talk to Diamond about her's. It was really neat to hear about."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Hers is fascinating, I agree. She forged it herself, too, which is all the more impressive."

"The easiest way to describe it is as a method or philosophy for how to view magic that is worked into the soul, ingraining certain effects that can be called on without casting the spell. Most are tied to particular paths or orders but can be taught more freely depending on the legacy in question."

Adam Harken: "Eternal Voice might be one to look into, from what I hear they might fit into my view."

Klaire Henriette: "That makes more sense. Okay." She nods, not weighing into the Eternal Voice discussion because she (and I) has no clue what they're about.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah thought on that for a moment before nodding. "That tracks, yeah. Don't think we have any Bearers in town at the moment, though, so you might need to range out to find a mentor."

Adam Harken: He shrugged, "Been focusing on mainly mundane matters, my agency has been doing well for itself and the money is already coming in, should work on the cult next."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Good to hear. I've got a singer I may send your way at some point, younger guy but he's shaping up to be a fantastic performer."

Adam Harken: "Send me gems and I'll give you a finders fee." He smirked

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I'll see what I can do." He replied with a chuckle. "There's a lot of talent in Philadelphia, and it's worth sifting through it all for the diamonds in the rough. Giving them a chance to really be themselves and show what they have to offer has been the best part of it all."

Klaire Henriette: Klaire stays largely quiet, now that she's a little less nervous, she tries again with lifting the water jug with her mind, keeping her eyes on it while rejoining the talk.

"There are so many that just need that little push in the right direction and can expand in leaps and bounds."

Adam Harken: "Exactly, and I'm here to push people."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah watched as Klaire went back to practicing, smiling a touch. "You're getting better. I haven't played around with that too much yet but it's interesting."

"Agreed. If given the opportunity to improve themselves without having to worry about other things hanging over their head people can truly flourish."

Klaire Henriette: "I'm trying, it still takes a bit of focus for anything bigger than a tennis ball. I'm at the stage where I sometimes surprise myself with a good day, but I'm not consistent enough to call myself good at it."

A nod of her head.

"I agree. It is very difficult to improve if your thoughts are full of worry or the judgement of others."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Practice makes perfect and all that." He nodded. "Indeed. That and the general pressure of daily living, too; it's hard to devote time to yourself if you're stuck scrambling for basic necessities and all that."

Klaire Henriette: "And so I practice..."

She turns it upside down in the air, then back right side up.

"If I focus intently, I can move multiple object together, but it is exhausting and takes enough focus that I can't even distract myself with walking."

A nod.

"Have you been to the Community Center yet, Jay?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I haven't yet, although I did offer Ylva my assistance the last time we talked. Looking forward to checking it out, though."

Klaire Henriette: She smiles.

"I was asked if I wanted to work there too. I think it's her current favorite project."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "It's a great one, honestly. Doing one's part to help the community thrive is always worth the effort."

Adam Harken: Adam takes out his phone, "Man, I could use a Bisque," he muttered looking for the nearest Salad Works

Klaire Henriette: "Agreed. I am glad she had something to focus on, it is doing good for her."

She looks apologetically to Adam.

"Sorry, did not mean to ignore you. It's just... been a bit."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I may have been a little overly cautious on that front, I'll admit. Wanted to keep everything above board and all that, but I've felt bad for not reaching out more."

Adam Harken: "It's no problem at all, you seem to admire Sirius here."

Klaire Henriette: She looks certainly saddened, but nods.

"It makes sense. Not to bring up a tense subject, but I very much hope it is resolved soon."

Klaire pauses at Adam's observation, nodding. A little guarded.

"He is a great friend."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "As do I." He nodded, smiling quietly at Adam's comment even as he noted Klaire's caution. "I admire her as well, for the work she does and the people she takes care of through it."

Adam Harken: He looks again yo his phone, "Shit," he muttered and began walking off, "I need to get going, I'll catch you two later." He nodded before walking out

Klaire Henriette: She nods.

"Take care Adam."

She waits until he is gone, pausing before talking to Jay.

"I'm glad you think the work I do is admirable. That means a lot to me."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Catch you around." Jay gave the departing Warlock a quick salute before looking back to Klaire with a warm smile. "Of course. You've brought hope back into the lives of so many people, how could I not applaud that?"

Klaire Henriette: She frowns.

"I guess so. It does fresturate me that you were picked as the one to help in the investigation, instead of...quite literally anyone else."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Considering my position in the Ladder I am the most logical choice, unfortunately." He scooted over to her for another quick side hug, not wanting to interrupt her telekinetic concentration too much. "We'll get you through this, though."

Klaire Henriette: "I know, doesn't mean I can't be fresturated."

She lowers the jug again, hugging him back. There's a long sigh.

"I can only hope it will. You probably can't answer what might be the punishment, huh."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Not off-hand, no. Looking at similar rulings in the past can give a good ball park, though."

Klaire Henriette: "Mmm, okay. Thank you."

She nods slowly, backing off from that topic.

"I do have a...trouble, once we are about to talk freely again."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Oh? What sort of trouble?"

Klaire Henriette: She frowns.

"I'm struggling with keeping the split between Psyche and Klaire. I kept realizing I had... grey areas where neither fit, and I don't think the identity was... what I needed it to be. If that makes much sense. I'm trying to change myself as Klaire and Psyche at the same time and...I am not doing it very well

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Ah...that can be kind of rough, yeah." He nodded quietly. "It took me a while to feel that out for both of mine. Best I can recommend, honestly, is focus on one at a time. Once one is stable working with the other will be easier."

Klaire Henriette: She takes a slow breath in, and slow breath out.

"I'll try that, thank you. I think I will just...drop Psyche as a side of me for now until I get a better grasp on who I want to be."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Good call. That core is the more important part, in my opinion."

Klaire Henriette: She smiles, taking another breath.

"Thanks, Jay. I really do hope we can talk more when all of this clears up. I miss our chats and your guidance."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "You're welcome, and same here." He smiled warmly. "Happy to help where I can."
