Maddy's Wafflehouse

Log

Klaire Henriette: Klaire was sitting in the corner, Rook around her feet, gently snoozing. She had a plate of waffles, half eaten, and was texting someone, a smile on her face.

Asbolus: Asbolus emerged through the portal into the diner with little fanfare, letting out a slow breath as he visibly relaxed and allowed the superhuman facets of his physiology to reveal themselves. He was dressed neatly in slacks and a dark blue dress shirt, with a pair of thin black leather gloves rounding out the ensemble.

Spotting Klaire and her companion he smiled quietly, giving the pair a nod. "Salutations."

Klaire Henriette: Klaire looks up, putting down her phone.

"Hello there again. It's been a while. "

Asbolus: "That it has." He made a 'may I join you?' motion towards her table. "How have things been on your end?

Klaire Henriette: She gestures across from her.

"Busy, stressful. Too much going on at once. How are things on yours?"

There's an appraising look like she knows something is up, but won't press if he doesn't want.

Ylva Theodulus: Ylva slinks in not much later. Looking a bit tired she stops at the counter to pick up a bowl of whipped cream which she sets on their table.

"Good morning and good night to both of you."

A kiss to Klaires cheek as a red Fox curls up into her lap. A few mlems at the bowl before falling asleep with her snoot in the whipped cream.

Asbolus: He took the offered seat, that inhuman mobility clear to see. "Alright for the most part. Dealing with some..."

The words trailed off as Ylva made an appearance, chuckling as she curled up and promptly dozed off before looking back to Klaire. "Some personal developments thank to my story strengthening itself recently."

Klaire Henriette: Klaire chuckles, scritching the Fox's ears. A content smile.

"Due to your...ah. Do you wish to rant, or even just have a listening ear?"

Asbolus: "Not sure it's the level of a rant, per se." He chuckled softly, pausing to order a hot tea and one of the vegetarian scrambles from a passing server before continuing. "This particular step along the path included a physiological change that I hadn't expected, although it is in theme with my progression thus far."

"That and the widening of the divide between myself and the majority of humanity has made for an odd mental space, but I'm managing it well enough at the moment."

Klaire Henriette: A slow nod.

"I can only understand so much, especially as I cannot see past your mien. If you trust me enough to talk through it, I'm here to listen, if you'd rather me drop it I also can. I'm still human, so there's some things that are beyond me, but I will try to understand."

Asbolus: "Of course. An outside perspective can offer insight in its own way, though, and I appreciate the offer."

"I look much like you see now behind the mask, barring a sense of...sharpness, for lack of a better way to put it, simple motions cutting through the air and things like that. This recent step took that to a more literal sense." He lifted his gloved hand briefly for emphasis.

Klaire Henriette: She eyes the gloves.

"Please stop me at any point if you need to back off. Tapping the table twice works if that's okay with you, or any other way that you enjoy."

She nods.

"I can assume your hands are...rather sharp now and you are struggling with this new found capability?"

Asbolus: "I will, and I appreciate your tact with the matter." He said with a small smile, nodding as she continued. "Indeed. I wager with time and practice the gloves won't be necessary for every day use, but better safe than sorry in the meantime."

Klaire Henriette: "Indeed. Have you tried sewing or drawing perhaps? It wouldn't be a problem if you do mess up, and its fine enough practice it might help? "

Asbolus: "Not yet, no. Never been much of a craftsman in truth, barring some set building at university. May give it a try, though."

Klaire Henriette: "Perhaps even sitting and writing. Just something to get your hands used to their new capabilities."

A nod.

"I've never been a creative sort either. I love this one's craftsmanship" a gentle pat to Ylva, "but at the same time, something tells me that tattoos are...not the place to start with this."

A wry smile to the Lost.

Asbolus: "Agreed. Something far less permanent would be best." He chuckled quietly, glancing down to the sleeping vulpine. "How have you two been doing, on that note?"

Klaire Henriette: "Well. At least at my end, and as far as I am aware with her. I recently moved in with her and her other partners, which has done us both good I think. It has been nice to be closer to them all."

Asbolus: "Good to hear." He nodded with a smile. "I felt similarly when I moved in with Lux and Jack. Having those you're close to around, even if we tend to be busy with our own projects, is definitely a good feeling."

Klaire Henriette: A pause as she racked her mind.

"I don't believe I've met a Lux or a Jack. Am I assuming correctly that they are both your partners?"

A nod.

"Indeed. Having a place to be close to them, even if its just at night, its quite relieving."

Asbolus: "Just dear friends in this case; they are a couple, though. I'm not seeing anyone currently, although I am keeping an open mind on that front."

Klaire Henriette: "I have a spiel that is far too long, but boils down to not rushing into relationships. But do remember that a relationship ending does not mean it fails. It means you both tried and decided this was not right, which is not only understandable but should be expected."

Asbolus: "Very true indeed. I haven't been in a dedicated relationship since before I was Taken, while another showed promise but he left town unexpectedly." He smirked a touch, wry little thing that it was. "It takes truly getting to know someone for affection to spark for me, so rushing isn't really in the cards."

Klaire Henriette: A saddened look.

"I'm sorry you've struggled in that regard. I am still...vastly upset by everything that is done to the Lost. I know I will never know the full extent of your pain, but as much as I can I wish the support the Freehold."

A nod.

"Demiromantic then? I am as well. I consider myself biromantic as well, but have never dated a man. Ylva was my first partner, and has remained as such."

Asbolus: "Much appreciated. The community here is sound, and those who partner with the Lost here have been a very understanding bunch."

"More demisexual, but yes. Only became familiar with the term in the last year or so, but it does fit quite well."

Klaire Henriette: "I have met a few of the others. Vincent and Jeremiah largely. Although Bones is now dating this one as well." A small smile as she pets the sleeping foxxo.

"It took me until college to realize I was asexual. I originally thought I was aromantic as well...and then I decided to get a tattoo. I'll say its been very much a net positive though."

A loving smile down at the small shape in her lap.

Asbolus: "I knew from a young age that I preferred men but didn't make it public outside of my immediate family until I went to university."

"It seems so, yes." He smiled warmly, looking the pair over. "I'm glad you two have been able to keep that bond strong after her ordeal."

Klaire Henriette: A nod.

"I am glad you were able to realize that from such a young age. Even with telepathy I struggled to realize why I never felt the same as everyone else when it came to attraction."

She scritches the fox, and reached down to scritch the still sleepy pupper, so many floof.

"If anything, I think its gotten stronger. I managed with no one else to keep on going, until recently, I was only on the outskirts of the community. I am glad I joined in all honesty, and even more glad I was able to be here with her."

Asbolus: "We all realize at our own pace, I've noticed. Sometimes having the right terminology for the first time offers a proper light bulb moment."

"Good to hear. The wider community here has been very welcoming, which I hear is a rarity. I've certainly met people I wouldn't have otherwise here, so I'm glad to be here as well."

Klaire Henriette: "Indeed. That's how it was for me. Hearing the experiences of others was quite nice."

A small smile.

"They have been. I had a rough start, and have had several rough moments, entirely at my own fault. But I have advanced far faster with help than I have in the decade prior. The Awakened are very supportive."

Asbolus: "I've met a few of them here, solid folks all around. How is Bones doing, as an aside? We crossed paths when we was going through a rough patch and I haven't had a chance to check in on them since."

Klaire Henriette: "Ah, so that was you. I appreciate you helping out my friend, they definitely needed it."

A pause.

"I am unsure how much I should or can say, so I will leave it at they are engrossed in work out of town, so to our knowledge, good."

Asbolus: "Very welcome. They needed some grounding in that moment and I was happy to provide it."

He nodded in return. "Fair enough. Give them my regards next time you see them, if you will."

Klaire Henriette: "That is still very important. I will tell then next time they are in the area."

A look at both the sleepy floofs.

"I should likely get these two out of here, so they can sleep tonight."

Asbolus: "Indeed." He nodded, smiling a touch as he looked at the trio. "Was a pleasure talking with you as always."

Klaire Henriette: "You as well." She shakes Rook, who gives a small yawn, and an excited tail wag at Ylva. She pays her tab plus a tip.

A consideration before deciding it would be okay. His Kenning would flare and suddenly...Ylva was floating, super gently. She moved Ylva to her shoulder, but as she only had one hand she was making sure Ylva wouldn't fall.

"Take care."
