Log

Laura Walker: No full contact stuff. Take it easy. She can do that. Laura has found an open spot to do some light stretching, mindful of her sore ribs as she moves. Barefoot and dressed in sports bra and shorts, her movements are more restrained and controlled then normal, for those who might know her.

Aurelio Menegi: As she went through the motions Laura would eventually notice that she was being watched, albeit more in a "checking your form" sort of way than outright ogling. Aurelio had emerged from one of the cabins on the freehold grounds, dressed in black jeans and a t-shirt that contrasted against the white marble of his skin, pale blue eyes looking out as he observed her work.

Laura Walker: She stops and lowers hands to her sides, turning to face him as green eyes peer in study. "Hello." She offers after a moment, padding slowly towards him with a tilt of her head. "You're a face I don't know. I'm Laura or Hyena, take your pick."

Aurelio Menegi: "Did not mean to interrupt." He gave a respectful nod as she approached, the low heat of a covered kiln wreathed about him when she came into range. "Somewhat new, came into town in January. Aurelio, good to meet you."

Laura Walker: "Fairly new myself." She offers a clawed hand. "But welcome, anyhow." Her nostrils flare as she considers his Mantle. "Good to meet you too. How's the day treating you? And don't worry about that, I'm not mean tto push myself too much right now."

Aurelio Menegi: He took the offered hand, his own surprisingly cold in comparison to the marks of Summer swirling about him. "Well enough. Came by to check in, as it were." He gave her a brief once-over at the mention of not pushing herself, eyebrow arched a touch. "Are you injured?"

Laura Walker: "Not as much as I was. Had a spar and got a cracked rib or two. It's mostly just soreness now." A toothy grin. "Sometimes I need to blow off steam, and I'm not wise about it. You're Summer, sparring a thing you do? I know some don't, save it for when they can cut completely loose."

Aurelio Menegi: "Ah...been there." He nodded, giving a knowing smile. "I do, yes. Better to practice and have the muscles learn what they need for when the time comes."

Laura Walker: "Hm." She laughs quietly. "I'd get disappointed looks of no uncertain manner if I asked now, but I'm always keen to spar, when I'm in a better condition to."

Aurelio Menegi: "Once you're ready." He nodded firmly, then gave a curious look. "Was there not one of the Spring there to help?"

Laura Walker: "There was." She nods. "Anneliese, she's the one who checked me over, made sure I wasn't in serious trouble. Also gave me the orders to tuck my furry ass into bed. Which has driven me a little crazy the past couple of days, but I managed to cope."

Aurelio Menegi: "Ah...not bad enough to use the..." he paused, shaking his head after a moment. "Sorry, don't know the English for the working. Healing breath, yes?"

Laura Walker: "I don't know the name myself." She admits. "Healing isn't where my skills lie, but, I wasn't that bad, no. I do know it comes with a price, and I just needed rest."

Aurelio Menegi: "Better way to do it sometimes." He nodded quietly. "Was it bare fists or weapons?"

Laura Walker: "Bare fists." She rubs her stomach. "But she's strong, stronger then me if I'm not dipping into contracts." She exhales. "I've come across better fighters then me, but never anyone with more raw strength.. that was different."

Aurelio Menegi: "It can be interesting. Poses a good challenge, though, makes you think of other tactics to bring back your advantage."

Laura Walker: "That's the thing, really. In a fight, I'm mostly based on my strength. Oh, I can sharpen my claws and teeth to tear through steel, shield myself in lightning and turn it on enemies, summon storms.." She grins ruefully, or at least, bares her teeth. "But it's rare for a space for me to tear utterly loose unless I'm in the Hedge."

Aurelio Menegi: "True. I tend to do the same, but my primary style does not work well among our people, so I often have to use other avenues. Keeps things challenging."

Laura Walker: "Oh?" She asks curiously. "What do you focus on?"

Aurelio Menegi: "Grappling. My...talents lend to keeping others close to do harm, if you follow."

Laura Walker: She pauses, then regards him with deeper interest, head tilting. "I share the same skill." She admits. A pause. "Do you fight hunger, like me?"

Aurelio Menegi: "I cannot say. More that a touch can take from them and restore me in kind."

Laura Walker: "Ah." A slight nod. "My own.. well, I benefit from it as well. Though it's not something I'd turn on other Changelings."

Aurelio Menegi: "Understandable. I tend to not use it on our own as well, although it can be more...efficient that way."

Laura Walker: She narrows her eyes slightly in study of him, taking a slow breath. "Do you sometimes? And if you do, why?"

Aurelio Menegi: "Only those who have tried to bring harm to the free, not on those I am sworn to protect."

Laura Walker: She nods once, mollified. "I've been lucky enough to not come across any who'd betray us, at least, not yet. I hope I never do."

Aurelio Menegi: "Dealt with a few myself, although not here. Thankful for that."

Laura Walker: "Mm, agreed." She pauses a moment. "What do you enjoy doing Aurelio? In a social sense, or, free time, or, well, that sort of thing."

Aurelio Menegi: "Outside of work, getting to know the city and the times. Still catching up on some things. You?"

Laura Walker: "Cooking is a favourite, studying the weird where I can. Spending a whole lotta time with the polycule I've gotten connected to." She grins. "But cooking is a huge passion, I admit."

Aurelio Menegi: "Polycule?" His eyebrow arched at the unfamiliar term, followed by a small nod. "Not a bad one to have. Don't have a particular skill for it, but I can handle myself well enough."

Laura Walker: "It's." She muses on how to explain, gesturing. "A group of those who are extremely close and tight knit, live together and are often a mix of tight relationships. And yes, especially given that I'm always hungry. Food is good to have close."

Aurelio Menegi: "Ah...I see. Are they your motley as well, or is that something separate?"

Laura Walker: "No. Not my motley, though, I hope for them to become that." She rubs at her muzzle, glancing away briefly. "Time will tell."

Aurelio Menegi: He nodded quietly. "Looking for one myself, so best of luck to us both, then."

Laura Walker: "What would you want from one?" She asks, looking back his way.

Aurelio Menegi: He paused at the question, having to actually think on it for a moment. "The...support, you can say. Someone to help more out of closeness than duty, if you follow."

Laura Walker: "Yes." She offers a toothy smile. "That's an excellent reason. If you get to know more people here, I'm pretty confident you'll find what you're looking for."

Aurelio Menegi: "One can hope." He nodded with a small smile of his own. "Those that I have met so far have been very welcoming."

Laura Walker: "And it also depends what you seek in terms of closeness, mm?" She scratches at her ear. "Not that I know you enough to be asking personal questions."

Aurelio Menegi: "More friendship for now. If more happens, I will not complain." He smirked a touch, although there was a brief bittersweet note to it. "Been more focused on getting caught up than looking for such things."

Laura Walker: "I always found that intimate relationships need solid friendship to work." She comments, nodding at him. "I'll ah, take it you've been a fair while then, perhaps?"

Aurelio Menegi: He gave another small nod. "Some years before the first World War. Got back early last year."

Laura Walker: "That's.." She winces. "Can't be easy. And that makes it sound overly simple. Sorry."

Aurelio Menegi: "No worries." He waived off the apology. "Thank you, though. It is not often that long, from what I hear."

Laura Walker: "Rarely, mm." She agrees, taking a seat and patting the ground near her in invite. "How are you settling with things now?"

Aurelio Menegi: He took the offered seat, rocking his hand in a 'so-so' kind of motion as he got settled. "Better than when I first got back, but still have a lot to learn."

Laura Walker: "Takes time, mm, and the world changes so damn fast." She smiles ruefully, getting comfortable. "Have you made any solid friends yet Aurelio? We're a pretty sociable lot."

Aurelio Menegi: "Somewhat. Been introducing myself here and there."

Laura Walker: "Well, I'm not the best at getting people in touch with others, but, ah..” She pauses, thinking. "Spring tends to be better at that. Maybe Anneliese could give you a hand?"

Aurelio Menegi: "Not opposed. Where would be the best place to find her?"

Laura Walker: "Here or in the Spring Hollow, I think. But I can try to send her a message as well if you like?"

Aurelio Menegi: "That would help. I can give you my number as well if that would help."

Laura Walker: "Yups." The Hyena nods cheerfully. "Would be able to pass it onto her, ask if she's able to give you a call sometime."

Aurelio Menegi: "Sounds good." He nodded, taking a moment to pull his phone from his pocket. "When you're ready."

Laura Walker: She nods. "I can't from in here, but soon as I get out, I can. If you're okay to do that now?"

Aurelio Menegi: "Sounds good. Can still give you the number, at least, and get yours, perhaps?"

Laura Walker: "Yes." She smiles to that, offering up her number and taking Aurelio's in turn. "Soon as I can, I'll check with her on this, and will let you know pronto."

Aurelio Menegi: "Look forward to it." He took a moment fiddling with the screen to get the contact information saved before pocketing it again, smirking a touch. "Clever little things, no? Very handy to have."

Laura Walker: Laura grins, clapping him on the shoulder and standing. "Extremely when you want to talk at distance. Most people play games on them, but that's not why they're so handy." She smiles. "See you soon, I'm hoping, mm?"

Aurelio Menegi: The deep chill of the marble passed though the Elemental's shirt as Laura held his shoulder, although the man himelf didn't seem to mind being used as a prop to help her up. "Indeed." He nodded, moving to stand as well. "And let me know when you want to try that spar."

Laura Walker: "Gimme a couple of days and I should be good." She beams. Yeah, people are overjoyed about her rushing straight into another one right after healing up. "See you when I see you Aurelio, take care."
