Let me answer that, but let me keep going until I say I'm done, okay? There's a lot to unpack and I don't want to blindside you or sugarcoat anything. The answer isn't no, though.
So I don't... usually... date.
I don't feel like I'm honest enough. So it's not fair. Relationships are built on honesty and I'm basically asking for more honesty from anyone I'd date than I'm willing to provide.
I can explain more about that in person, but that's the heart of it.
I very much like you. I want to do what I said and help you see you're not a bad person and there's nothing sinful about love.
I would like to try being something more but I do not want to hurt you.
So if you want to try being something more, I would ask you not to stop looking? You'll almost certainly find someone better for you and if you do, I don't want you to turn them down just because I'm around.
So my answer to "do you want to be more" is "yes, until you find someone better, so please keep your eyes open"
