Soulwardens Sanctum

Log

Kayla Sockum: Kayla is waiting in the living room, paying attention to whomever is next to come into the Sanctum, her focus slowly, slowly wavering away from the book she's trying to read. She's wearing a loose white t-shirt and a pair of black shorts underneath. There's no sign of magic currently on her.

Heather Williams: Heather had been gone several days. She hadn't really said anything, except to Jeremiah who may or may not have said anything to the others. She returned the sanctum, toting a little weekender bag and dressed in 'road trip' clothes of pajama bottoms and a soft tee and sunglasses perched on her head. She flashed Kay a smile. "Hey!" she called. "Holding down the fort?"

Kayla Sockum: "As always!" Kay smiles toward Hearth, moving to greet her with a warm hug, kissing her cheek in a friendly, yet soft fashion, patting her back. "Been hoping to see you today!" She offers with a cheeky grin. "I got something I wanted to do!"

Heather Williams: "Well then I'm glad I got home when I did so you didn't have to keep waiting," she said with amusement and returned the kiss and hug. "What's up, buttercup?"

Kayla Sockum: "I used the kitchen at the lodge and I feel confident enough in my cookies and the fact that Maddy helped me with learning how to cook to maybe consider the interdict being lifted." That had always been a bit of a joke anyway, but an interdict is still a rather serious thing in Mage circle, so, there is a touch of nervousness in Diamond

Heather Williams: She chuckled. "Ooh? Did you save me any cookies? My personal supply went stale the other day and I didn't have the chance to bake."

Kayla Sockum: "Well, yeah, otherwise I wouldn't have anything to prove that I did take the classes." Kay stick her tongue at the other moros and then moves to grab the lunchbox from the table in the living room. She unzips it and shows the result: they're chocolate chip cookies, simple and yet appear to be edible.

Heather Williams: "Thank you," Hearth made a show of inspecting the offering and picking the best of the lot. She raised it to her mouth, then paused, cookie in hand. "So how many tries did these take?"

Kayla Sockum: "These? I managed them in one go. That was basically my baseline of when I'd be ready to show it off." Kay explains. "If I had to scratch the whole thing to restart, then I wasn't good to go."

Heather Williams: Her eyes flickered in amusement and she again moved to take a bite before pausing. "Which recipe did you use?"

Kayla Sockum: "It's Maddy's chocolate chip cookies." a little chuckles and she pokes at Hearth's rib

Heather Williams: She smirked, and got the cookie within an inch of her mouth before pausing to ask. "Semi-sweet?"

Kayla Sockum: "No, I never half-ass the important stuff." The face she makes when she replies probably hints that it's not really an answer to Hearth's question

Heather Williams: Hearth was definitely just screwing with her now. "Semi-sweet has its place!" she protested with a grin.

Kayla Sockum: "I don't disagree." Kay pokes at Hearth again and giggle, though she's still a little nervous, watching her with narrowed eyes.

Heather Williams: "I mean sometimes you just can't afford to use the good chocolate for everything. Imported Swiss is expensive! And heathens can't tell the difference anyways."

Kayla Sockum: "No, but for the first real attempt at it and to impress someone you care about?" Kay grins. "It's certainly worth it, I think."

Heather Williams: "That's true," Hearth allowed slowly. "So who's the lucky hottie you tried to impress?"

Kayla Sockum: "Well, you, in this case, since it's you I need to impress to get the Interdict lifted, but I did share one with Mary when she showed up." She grins brightly there.

Heather Williams: "Oh, should I get on and eat this then?" she teased.

Kayla Sockum: "Yes, then we can go celebrate something more substantial in the hot tub." There is absolutely no way to fit a hot tub in the Sanctum in an efficient manner enough for Heather to have missed it during the time away.

Heather Williams: She arched an eyebrow, then took a delicate nibble of the cookie. She took another bite, savoring the taste. "Well well well..."

Kayla Sockum: The cookie is simple enough in taste, not the make a of a master, of course, but it fulfill the promise of sugary goodness, there is no disaster, there is no weirdness. It's a soft, chocolate cookie, made with love.

Heather Williams: "This is fabulous, Kay." Her studious expression blossomed into a smile. "Well done, you can use the kitchen again."

Kayla Sockum: She grins and throws a hug at Hearth, almost hanging around her neck. It's a bit stronger of a reaction than one might expect and she hugs the Edgetender quietly for a moment.

Heather Williams: Hearth twirled her around. "Now don't go burning the place down, eh?"

Kayla Sockum: "I won't!" Kay tries to be discreet in swiping a genuine tear forming in her eyes and shrug. "And I wasn't kidding about going in a hot tub, I managed to find away to enjoy something like that now. I'm a disciple of matter and life now, so I can do some new stuff."

Heather Williams: "That's awesome!" She said brightly, eyes dancing. "I've managed to Master Matter," she confessed.

Kayla Sockum: That seems to make Kay rather enthusiastic about her cadremate. "Holy shit! Congratulation! I'm so happy for you, Master Hearth!" She giggles and bounces into place.

Heather Williams: Hearth rolled her eyes. "I really dislike the title," she admitted. "It makes me feel like I need to get into BDSM."

Kayla Sockum: "Honestly, it would be much worse if I had to call you Mistress." She nods, not entirely disagreeing with it. "But yeah" She nods. "I'll call you with something else, unless the situation really calls for it." she bump shoulders. "Want to go take a swim in my Magical tool?" she grins

Heather Williams: "You made it a tool?" Hearth broke out laughing. "And yes, absolutely. Mistress is at least the proper feminine form."

Kayla Sockum: "My wooden bowl that I already used as a magical tool since I awoke almost." Kay corrects "I shrink myself and my bathing suit after pouring warm water into it. It's a very different way to interact with it."

Heather Williams: "Good lord!" Hearth was genuinely shocked. "That's kind of amazing. You should get a little fountain bubbler and fogger to stick in it too."

Kayla Sockum: "I tried it in the living room the first time and I had to contend with Jay's cat wanting a drink, that was a weird experience." Kay laughs a little bit. "I took a nap in the middle of my pillows." she chuckle. "I never quite thought that my combination of both of Life and Matter would be this marvelous."

Heather Williams: "At least the cat didn't try to eat you," she said dryly.

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah but I get the feeling that wasn't too far off of his mind." A chuckle follows. "It was a new experience anyway."

Heather Williams: "Housecats aren't so far off from large cats in temperament. It's more a matter of scale," she laughed.

Kayla Sockum: "No they aren't." She pokes at Hearth's again. "Did you have anything you wanted to do coming back here tonight?"

Heather Williams: "I just got back in from a trip," she admitted. "So it was more a matter of unpacking and checking on some projects here than anything specific."

Kayla Sockum: "Want to actually see the hot tub magic in action?" She suggest, pointing to the door that leads to the basement

Heather Williams: "Of course!" she said. "Life magic is still a mystery to me so lead on!"

Jeremiah Hamilton: As the girls emerged from the kitchen they would find Jeremiah heading towards it, humming something to himself along the way. He smiled brightly to his cadremates, looking to be in rather high spirits indeed. "Welcome back." He said to Hearth. "Trip went well, I hope?"

Kayla Sockum: Kay is heading toward the Hallow room now when they come across Jay and she's quick to hug him too, kissing his cheek and such. "About to show off something to Hearth after my cookies made an impression." she offers her lunch box towoard Jay. "I made cookies at the Lodge, Maddy's recipe."

Heather Williams: "It did," she said warmly, and gave him a tight hug. "I'm easier now, thank you- and the cookies are good."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Glad to hear it." Jeremiah returned the hugs gladly, then perked up at the offered cookie and took one. "Ooh...nice. Guessing you're allowed in the kitchen again?"

Kayla Sockum: "I am." She smiles proudly, a little giggly too. The cookies are chocolate chip, because at no point in any reality was she ever going to do baking without chocolate to impress someone. "Was about to show off something I learned, that your cat already saw too." a grin

Heather Williams: "You haven't shown him yet?" she asked in surprise.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah nodded as he took a bite of the cookie, giving a thumbs up while he chewed rather than be a heathen and talk with his mouth full. "'s really good."

"Oh?" Cue a curious quirk of the eyebrow. "Did he now..."

Kayla Sockum: "No, I only showed Mary because she showed up the other night when I was just done with it." She points to Jay "I didn't get the chance to catch Jay in time yet. I can basically shrink and grow people in size now, in addition to things. So I use my wooden bowl like a hot tub or a swimming pool."

Heather Williams: "You know, we could imbue the spells into a bowl so whoever touches it will shrink to swim." She grinned. "We could get you a Barbie dreamhouse too. And maybe stick a little motor in a Barbie car for you."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah paused for a moment, almost like it took a second for that to process, but when it did a delighted grin formed on his features. "Seriouisly? That is awesome."

Kayla Sockum: "I am not creating a small car for me to go around, no way, not happening." That seems to be a bit more serious in tone, but she return swiftly to a better mood." But I am asking Jay's cat to let me ride him across the house." A soft little chuckle. "And yeah, I think maybe I could work on a tiny Sanctum hidden underground with Ants to keep it safe and such."

Heather Williams: "We've lifted the interdict against using the kitchen, do we need to place one against watching Marvel movies?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That could be...interesting." He nodded with a smirk, still looking positively giddy at the idea. "That really is awesome, though...what degree of mastery do you need to be able to do that?"(edited)

Kayla Sockum: "The spell don't let me go microscopic, much less antman levels of small." a little amused look there. "Don't worry about that." then the question about levels of Mastery. "You need to be a disciple of matter to learn how to shrink and grow stuff. But if you're also a Disciple in Life, you can do it to people too!"

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah made a bit of a face at the Matter mention - Mastigos gonna Mastigos, after all - but nodded nonetheless. "Rock on. I'd love to see it in action."

Kayla Sockum: "If you want, you can even participate, grab some kind of swimming trunks, we can have a bit of a comfortable time in the Hallow downstairs." A smile follows, she's obviously happy.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "You bet. Meet you down there." He said with a grin, zipping upstairs to his room most ricky tick.

Kayla Sockum: Kay wanders downstairs after a brief stint in the kitchen, to grab something to drink. She left her magical tools downstairs, right beside the one couch they have downstairs. The mushrooms around the rooms are all rather sizeable now, especially since Kay's been working on them a bit too.

She takes off the white t-shirt and shorts she's wearing, to reveal a pink bikini, rather modest as far as swimsuit of that kind goes. She opens a thermost and peers inside, feeling if the water is sufficiently hot and when she's satisfied with the answer, she pours it into her bowl. Using the towel upon which her things rest to create little access points to the bowl.

Afterward, she waits for Jay to join her down.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah arrived a minute or so later in a pair of black swim trunks and a t-shirt, a towel in hand as he made his way in. "I am way more excited for this than I probably should be." He said with a grin, taking the shirt off and folding it atop the towel.

Kayla Sockum: "Alright, so, I'm going to shrink us down, I've arranged the towel so we can get inside the bowl easier, but it might still be a bit of a climb." She reaches for his forearm as she begin to focus on the imago in her mind and quickly, they find themselves shrinking down to a minuscule size that makes the nearby bowl feel like a small pool. "This should last us about an hour." she points to the fold of the towel that rest against the side of the bowl and gives access to the water, which still steams, equivalent of a hot bath. "I'm still disoriented by how large everything is."

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah made a point of closing his eyes as the spell went into effect, not wanting to spoil the view once it had run its course. When he did open them again he was quiet for a long moment, a wide smile on his face and look of fascination in his eyes. "This is so cool..." He said softly to himself, then snapped back towards Kay when she spoke again. "A bit, yeah...you need a hand up?"

Kayla Sockum: "I think I'm fine, I've done it twice now, so I'm starting to learn." A little laugh, she climbs a little bit on the towel and then moves into the bowl, with a splashing sound, she re-emerge a moment later, to reach out and help Jay up as best she can.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah was actually a decent climber, all told, and with a bit of a hand from Kay he got himself into the water with relative ease. He held onto the side of the bowl as he let the water settle, that 'kid at Christmas' level of excitement still easy to see.

Kayla Sockum: Kay swims a little into the bowl, there's not a ton of space to do so, she didn't shrink them to the size of quarters or dimes, but there's space for them to move their legs and give a bit. She rest on the edge of the bowl, with only her head out of the water. "I'm so happy that I learned this."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I might actually look into picking up Matter to learn this, tower issues or not. Was planning on working on Life anyway 'cause of my legacy..." He looked to Kay, still smiling widely. "I'm sorry, this has been a dream of mine since I was, like, five. I'm pretty sure my mother lost the copy of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids we had between moves because I kept rewatching it when I was a kid."

Kayla Sockum: "I don't know if I can go this small with this spell." Kay says with a little nod "And I remember that movie! We totally need to rewatch it while small." She smiles and splashes a bit toward Jay.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "That'd be a trip." He replied with a chuckle, sending some of the water back her way. "For whatever reason the thought that we'd be able to do this never crossed my mind. I love it, though..."

Kayla Sockum: "If you want me to teach you how to use matter, we can start with little lessons. Though really, you want Hearth for it, she's just a lot better at it than me." a little amused there.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Might take you up on that. I'm focusing on Forces for right now, though; want to get up to Disciple there before I work on anything else."

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah, focus helps a lot. I managed to get to disciple in life and then I decided I needed to focus on other things." Kay nods. "Which I hope are coming along as well as I'm feeling they are."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Stuff with the legacy-forging, I'm guessing?"

Kayla Sockum: "Yes. It's complicated as fuck, to be honest." A little laugh. "But at least now I can do it without attracting too much notice."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I can imagine. Joining one was interesting enough, so I can only imagine what making one is like." He nodded, letting go of the side of the bowl to let himself float comfortably in the water. "Good. If there's anything we can do to help, let us know."

Kayla Sockum: "Oh I will, I feel like I got the steps down, I just never imagined things to be so..." she ponders. "Difficult to put into practice"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Well, you are reforging your soul in a way that no one's likely done before. I can see that being a pretty big push."

Kayla Sockum: "I'll get it done." A smile there and she dips underneath the water and resurface a moment later. "It's crazy how motivated I am to do mundane workout lately. I never swam as much in my life."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Not a bad thing, that. 's part of why I bike around as much as I do." He smirked as he looked towards her. "Then again, I can't blame you. This is pretty awesome."

Kayla Sockum: "It is, Also I'm totally going to ask your cat to carry me around the house." A little chuckle. "And I will probably have scratch marks."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Not sure how agreeable he'll be with that idea, admittedly, although I don't think he'd claw you for it. Maybe I should be there when you try, just in case."

Kayla Sockum: "I can speak with him." A shrug. "I won't force him too though, but it may take some kind of bribery."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "True..." Jeremiah nodded, mulling that over. "Probably. I'll handle the treats, you handle sweet-talking him. Between the two of us I think we handle it."

Kayla Sockum: "Yay! Sweet, fluffy cavalry." A shrug "Plus it's a part time job, Mary can handle the other moments when she's here." the wag in her eyebrow clearly indicate she already knows all of the jokes that are possible

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah let out a little snort of laughter at that, shaking his head with a smirk. "Oh I bet..."
