From From Dusk till Jawn

Once upon a time there was a rainbow that painted the sky. It would come and it would go, peaking out from behind clouds, shining in the early morning light. Sometimes it would just curl up with the pot of gold and chill. Can't be a rainbow without rain, and it doesn't rain all the time. It made the rainbow lonely and sad. It should be in the sky all the time. The whole world should get to see it. After all, it makes beauty. It brings color. Its keeper and the rainbow had a difference of opinion on that point, which is why the rainbow isn't there any longer.

That rainbow will show that keeper, though. One day, the whole world will see the beauty it can make. And then maybe, just maybe, that rainbow can finally put what happened to it behind itself. Once you've become bigger and more famous than the worst thing that happened to you, coping gets a lot easier. Unrealistic goals? Maybe. But nobody ever accused a rainbow of a lack of ambition.
