The Lodge of Champions

Every story needs a hero, every culture needs a hero, the uratha are no different. In fact, they might be the original heroes as their deeds and renown are sung by spirits, cahalith, and all those who they’ve inspired throughout the ages. The Lodge of Champions traces its prestigious roots all the way back to Babylon and their founding spirit, The King of Heroes. Joining the lodge is no small feat for it looks for only the greatest of Uratha and will only allow them within its ranks. The lodge accepts all auspices and all tribes, for anyone can become a Champion like their founder regardless of their any humble beginnings. It's what a Champion does to carve out of the present to create their story that matters to this lodge. A Champion fighting alongside a group of uratha and inspiring them to greatness can be a fearsome challenge to overcome, for if a Champion has joined your cause, you should show them that you're worth it. Even some anshega can be seen visibly shaken seeing a Champion fighting with a band of other forsaken for even if they don't fully believe the all the tales behind the Lodge, it is undeniable that a Champion is a true force to be reckoned with.

Many Champions, despite often being the center of attention due to the various fame they possess, dislike being apart of Urdaga politics as many of them believe that they often get in the way of their personal goals. However, they realize that they would be fools to ignore them completely as such they tend to make the occasional appearance here and there just to keep their ear to the ground. After completing their initiation into the Lodge, the Champion will often be given the name of a heroic figure as a deedname for them to emulate and aspire to. Some refuse and go on to forge their own name into a legend, but it's rare. The names often come with a hint of what the Lodge members think the newly minted Champions might need to learn. A shameless braggart might receive the name of a hero who's downfall was ultimately his own vanity, for example.

Requirements

Glory •••, 7 dots spread through Weaponry, Brawl and Expression, Fame: •

Totem

The King of Heroes, legends tell of the first hero ever to grace Gaia’s surface, the name of this hero is not lost in time but to use his name alone can be seen as a sign of disrespect and the last thing anyone would wish to do is disrespect a being of such high standing. The King of Heroes is the very embodiment of everything that it means to be a Legend. His name does not imply that this spirit is a King who is a hero but it instead implies that he is the King over all heroes and thus all Legends must stem from him. His glorious visage resembles that of a man in his prime, clad in glorious armor who wields a sword unlike any other and whose name only the spirit knows.

Lodge Bonds

Blessing: It is the duty of a Champion to inspire others to greatness, to be someone who others can look up to. A Champion can spend 1 essence and an action to grant a number of onlookers the "Inspired" Condition.

Aspiration: To leave a lasting mark upon the world. A Champion must leave new stories, preferably good ones, of their triumphs and victories.

Ban: What is a Champion if not someone who inspires others to take action? A Champion MUST inspire those they fight beside. What it means to "inspire someone" is left up to the whims of The King of Heroes.

The Sacred Hunt

A Champion doesn't so much as have a specific prey in which they hunt. A Champion hunts "Deeds" more than they do prey and thus to a Champion, if you're going to do something you best do it right. While under the effects of the Lodge of Champion's Sacred Hunt, those participating in the hunt find it difficult to fail. When pursuing deeds that directly affect the hunt in some manner, willpower spent is instead given a bonus equal to the Champion's Glory renown in lieu of it's normal bonus. This is however only useable on things that would continue to spread the deed and story of the hunt. Attacking some random person or preforming some random action that doesn't progress the hunt in a significant manner is not affected by this benefit.

Lodge Tools

The Lodge of Champions utilizes the following to help their members succeed even under the most strenuous and nigh impossible of circumstances. They are granted the weapons they need, the fetishes they need, the connections they need, and the knowledge they need all to forge a path for their fellows to follow behind.

  • Lodge Armory, the 5-dot selection of three (3) Fetishes must be identified in advance, and apply to the whole Lodge. These Fetishes are Champion's Brand •••, Valiant Star •••, and tbd
  • Lodge Connections
  • Lodge Lorehouse, the selection of relevant merits or topics happens upon the purchase of that dot and can be unique from character to character (though all should be thematically consistent with the Lodge).

Use the template to outline the Lodge in your UserTalk: page, and submit the Custom ticket containing the link to the Werewolf queue. And then be patient! Once the Lodge is approved, it will be added to the official Approved Lodge listing.
