These are the approval procedures for the Vampire sphere on From Dusk Till Jawn.
Background Review
It is permissible (and ideal) for a background to be as short as a handful of bullet points as long as the following items are covered:
- Where the character was born and grew up
- Embrace details
- What city they were embraced in
- If Philly, was the embrace with or without permission? If without, and after 1891, their sire is probably dead.
- The age of the character when they were embraced
- How and why the character was embraced
- The identity of their sire (name, covenant, bloodline)
- Whether their sire still alive
- What city they were embraced in
- How did the character join their covenant? Is it the first covenant they joined?
- If the character was previously part of another covenant, what were the circumstances of their changing?
- Which family is the character a part of?
Sheet Review
- Status is capped at 3
- If the character is from another city and not part of a family, Status (City) is capped at 1
- Purchase of Auspex, Dominate, Majesty, Nightmare, or Protean if it isn't a clan or bloodline discipline requires a teacher who knows it.
- Who did they learn each dot from?
- If their Blood Potency is less than 6, they must roll Resolve + Composure - 1 to check for vitae addiction for each such dot of Disciplines.
- Check for their free dot of Attributes based on clan or bloodline
- Check the math on the sheet
- 2.0 has flat costs.
- Check Willpower, Defense, Speed, and Humanity
- Review mundane equipment
- All custom mundane items (unless direct CoI) must be reviewed by DadHoc. Use the custom item guide for prelim review.
Finishing Steps
- A basic wiki is mandatory for approval.
- Must have:
- Name (whatever name or names other characters will call them)
- Clan (and dots of Status)
- Covenant (and dots of Status)
- Dots of Status (City)
- Family
- Categories set for Clan, Covenant, Family, and Bloodline, so the page populates in all the right places
- Please make sure they haven't copied the template from the NPC page -- that's only used for NPCs.
- Any easily-seen/understood/noticeable merits/effects (If you can see its effects when you look at a character or if they affect most/all interactions, it should be on the wiki. We don't need someone's Resources 5 on there, but we DO need stuff that other characters will easily notice. This includes how the Nosferatu curse manifests, for Nosferatu)
- 3 RP Hooks. They don't have to be much, but they should be SOMETHING for other players to say 'ahha, we can RP together because you sometimes hang out at Bob's Bar/you're from New York and I was once there'
- Any covenant positions.
- Once the sheet is ready, make a copy of the sheet to the FDTJ Google account
- Make sure you've reviewed the Beat Tracker help file with the player
- Set the 'approved' role on the Discord
