Rittenhouse Square

Log

Vic Easton: Still relatively early in the evening, even though the sun had set about an hour ago. Vic walked along the wide path of Rittenhouse Square at the end of a two leashes, her dogs ahead of her by a foot leisurely strolling, and causing most to give her a wide birth given their size. She didn't seem to mind, usually there was a bar between her and the people she spoke to. Happy to be at a distance, she had one ear bud in. Her keys hanging off her hip jingled with each step.

Kayla Sockum: Kayla walks into the park, her hands in the pocket of her long dark coat, a soft whistle on her lips, earphone one with the wires that goes to the pocket of her coat, heeled boots clicking the pavement in a soft, unpracticed rhythmic shuffle as she makes her way around. The dogs draw her attention however as they are soon to be in her way.

She puts her earphone around her neck, she doesn't seem scared by the dogs, rather curious about them in an obvious fashion

(Magic active, but concealed)

Vic Easton: Vic of course assumed that people didn't want to be bombarded by two large great danes and so, seeing that her path was going to cross another's she veered to the side and decided then to take a seat on one of the benches and let the woman pass, giving her that smile that strangers offer to one another, pressed and generic, but Vic's seemed to be a touch more friendly. As if the two of them had some secret joke between them. For a second Kayla might wonder if they already knew one another, but that couldn't be true. As Vic noticed her take a curious look, she told both of the dogs to sit, "They're friendly if you want to say hello." she offers. "You might get slobbered but otherwise it's a fairly safe venture."

Kayla Sockum: "I'd love to say Hello.... they look like fantastic gentle companions." Kayla extends her hand out to the dogs, letting them smell and interact with it, scritching and petting them if they seemed receptive. "Sorry, couldn't stop myself, they are so adorable. I'm Kay, by the way." she offers her other hand to shake, the one not covered in slobber.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Today had been deemed a bike day rather than a car day, weather be damned, and thus the conversing pair would spy Jeremiah zipping down the path on a rather sleek little silver number set up for cross-city travel. Spotting his cadremate the Mastigos eased on the breaks, giving first her and then Vic a smile as she and the pups came into proper view. "Evening, ladies."

Vic Easton: The dogs eagerly search her outstretched hand for treats. Finding none they lick her fingers for any chances she's tasty too. All very gentle despite their size. "Good to meet you Kay! I'm Vic." shaking her hand in return, "This is Cohen and Bowie," she gestures to the dogs again and then looks up. "Well well.. Kay and Jay. I feel like I should just be V tonight." she smirked looking over him and his bike. "You two know one another?"(edited)

Kayla Sockum: "Yeah he's kind of sort a roommate, not entirely surprised to see him here." A smile at the dog "Hello, Cohen and Bowie, both fantastic names." she grins and then looks to Jay, greeting him with a little, friendly hug. "How did you two meet?" Kay asks

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Something like that, yeah." Jeremiah followed Kay's response with a chuckle, sliding off the bike and moving it over to the side to not block the path. "She runs a bar and record store that I swung by to check out not too long ago and we struck up a conversation."

Vic Easton: "Thanks," she nods at the choice of names for her dogs. Vic looked between the two curiously and then smiled as they spoke of the bar, "Mmhmm. Vinyl Tap. Just opened up on New Years." Obviously quite proud of it. She decided to be more polite and plucked the ear bud out of her ear, stuffing it back into her pocket. "So how's it going Jay? How's the cafe? Sorry I haven't been in just yet."

Kayla Sockum: "Oh, I probably should visit then." Kay says with a little smile there, her gaze lingering on the dogs for just a brief moment. "Are there new vinyl being made or is what you have only old things from people's collections? I wonder what Jay's song would sound like on Vinyl."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "...you know, now I'm curious too. I've never had anything run on an actual record." Jeremiah smirked at that, the gears turning a bit in the back of his mind. "Will have to look into that at some point."

Vic Easton: "Oh of course they do! There's new Vinyl coming out all the time. It's come back into popularity really. I don't think it'll ever fully go away. At least I hope not in my life span. I've had recordings on CDs myself but never on Vinyl. We never made it big so either a record deal didn't do it for me or I just didn't have the cash. Starving artist and all that. But I'm sure someone so into the life could do so easily." she gestures to Jay. "You should definitely come by. I've got a betting pool going against Disney for who might become regulars." she smiled.

Kayla Sockum: "Disney?" A tilt of her head, curious as to the reference there as she doesn't quite understand it. "And now I understand why you and Jay know each others, this just make sense to me that you'd know each other." Kay smiles, as if satisfied by the narrative touches she sees in the situation.

Jeremiah Hamilton: The nickname earned a curious look from Jeremiah as well but he nodded after a moment. "Yeah, will definitely need to come by more often. Oh...I also got a hold of Jolene and we talked for a bit. May have her come by the studio at some point to see how she plays."

Vic Easton: "Mm, he's my cook. Doesn't speak a lot of English but he does whistle Disney tunes like an angel. He's the best. His real name is Miguel, but he blushes when I call him Disney and it's just become a thing." she grinned, her nose wrinkling back a touch with the delight of it. "Musicians will always find one another," she said. "It's kismet." She leaned back a touch crossing her legs, "Oh yeah? Sweet! That's exciting. I can't wait to hear what you guys make." she looks over to Kay then, "What do you do? Music too?"(edited)

Kayla Sockum: "No, I'm technically a legal assistant, but I'm working on turning to a new career, I've not worked on anything legal in a while now beside basic desk jockeying things." Kay explains "It's a time of great change right now for me." a look to Jay with a smile. "I think I met Jolene once, maybe? Or maybe I'm just thinking of Dolly Parton."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Ah, nice. Can't go wrong with Disney stuff." Jeremiah nodded with a smirk that shifted to a smile as Kay looked his way. "Nowhere to go but up."

Vic Easton: "Ahhh," she nods and reaches back into her coat to pull out some cigarettes, "You guys mind?" she asked before lighting one. "That's an exciting place to be in too. Change is good, even if it's a little scary, you know? Keeps us feeling alive. On our toes. Sometimes we don't even know we're stuck until life comes along and breaks out out of a rut. I hope it all works out for you." her words sincere and hopeful for Kay, smiling up at the woman.

Kayla Sockum: "I'm hopeful too, I just need to put a foot in front of the other and go forward, but with people like Jay around, that's easy to take those steps." Kay says nodding, she doesn't say anything about the cigarette but takes a step upwind to avoid getting the smoke blown her way.

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah eyed the pack for a moment when Vic pulled it, almost like he was mulling something, before he shook his head and made an 'after you' motion. "Here here. Every once in a while you need to shake things up, otherwise you get complacent."

Vic Easton: "Can I ask what this new venture is? Are you stepping into the musical world or something else?" she lit up and blew smoke away from them. "You don't have to answer if it's personal. You just both look so happy about it.."

Kayla Sockum: "I'm investigating various possibilities right now, It's partly about forging my own path where there wasn't one before, so It's much more complicated and require more planning." A shrug. "It's a bit vague because a lot of it depends on the space I'll have to set up my own thing and who's willing to go along with it."

Jeremiah Hamilton: "I'm always one for seeing others broaden their horizons." Jeremiah added with a smile. "And I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with."

Vic Easton: She took another drag and smiled supportively as they kept it vague. She wouldn't press. It sounded important and sometimes important things didn't have immediate words or even shapes. She realized it could be hard to explain. With a nod, "Well, I wish you luck with it. And when you succeed, a drink on me will be waiting for you at the bar." she smiled.

Kayla Sockum: "Good, one more reason to visit then." A nod toward Vic as she accept the delayed invitation for a drink, she then digs into her pocket and withdraws her cellphone, poking at her screen for a bit. "Can either of you give me the adress of that place so I can find it later?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "A valid reason indeed, although the good company alone is worth it." Jeremiah smirked, letting Vic take point on giving the address to her place of business.

Vic Easton: She smiled between them and nodded, "Sure. It's called Vinyl Tap. And it's on..." she relayed the address. "Probably be able to google it if you lose that. I hope Google can find me." she laughed a little. "So where were you two headed after this? Or was it always just a walk?"

Kayla Sockum: "I'm probably heading to a grocery store and setting up to make myself a snack later." A look toward Jay, as if expecting some kind of joke about that, then back to Vic, waiting for Jay's answer.

Jeremiah Hamilton: "Was heading back home after meeting with some folks at a cafe not too far from here. Decided on riding my bike today rather than driving." He patted the seat, chuckling a bit. "Hell of a day for it, but wasn't up for being behind the wheel."

Vic Easton: She'd nod, "Hey, drunken bike accidents still take lives. And it's such a pretty bike." Looking back over it. She didn't seem overly eager to leave, but all conversations come to a polite end at some point. She finished her smoke and rose to go put the but of it in the trash. "Welp... I should let you guys get back to it I suppose."

Kayla Sockum: "Sure, I can always walk a bit behind you Jay if you're headed home." She pats him on the shoulder, then looks to Vic. "I'll be sure to visit Vinyl Tap soon"

Jeremiah Hamilton: "They do, yeah; even sober ones, with the way people in this city drive. Got to keep your head on a swivel just about." Or be able to bend the space around you to see in full 360, but that was neither here not there. "Was good seeing you again, Vic. Will definitely drop by the bar again soon."

Vic Easton: She gives an easy smile, looking them over. "Take care you two." She'd tug at her dogs and begin the way she was originally heading, placing her headphone back in her ear as she went.

Kayla Sockum: Kay waves as Vic departs then turn to Jay and shrugs. "You know everyone." she declares with a little amused look. "You want to help me with dinner a bit?"

Jeremiah Hamilton: Jeremiah gave the departing Vic a quick salute before looking back to Kay, chuckling a bit as he started pushing his bike down the path at a comfortable pace for the Moros at his side. "All the interesting people, at least. And sure, I'd love to."
