Log

After an eventful meeting with many arrows, a Fox, and a babby mage, Liezel finds herself back in the consilium hall after a prolonged session singing to coax her aril back into being. She's got plans, and it'll be easier to do detail work after the more focus-requiring process of singing the aril into existence is over. That, she's just completed, leaving a pocket of space on the hall's stage- delineated with a circle of string, just to be transparent- and now that she's done, she's catching her breath. Singing for thirty minutes, even quietly, is exhausting, after all.

The Soulwardens' Lorekeeper walks down the halls of the consilium until she's met with Liezel. "Ah, just the person I've been meaning to speak with." She approaches her but keeps a distance, just in case it's a bad idea to get close to the casting area.

"Mm?" Liezel looks up, faintly surprised as always to find somebody interested in her specifically. "Oh, hello, Diamond. How does the evening find you?" She notes the caution and gestures to the space in the circle. It looks perfectly normal unless she has Death sight active. "I've made an aril here, you might want to avoid stepping inside."

"The evening finds me in a great mood." She steps around the Aril and sits nearby, conversational distance between Liezel and herself. "What about you?" she tilt her head to the side.

"Good. Met with Yoshitsune and some others interested in resolving a threat to the city. An infectious spirit that cannibalizes human bodies to create new copies of itself, killing the host in the process. Did some work on this- just a decent day all around."

Diamond tilt her head to the side, blinking at the summary of the issue. "Well that sound like a pretty intense situation." she looks then to the Aril and then back to Liezel. "I was wondering if you'd had the time to achieve your goal of perfecting materials?"

"Time? Yes. The resources are... in the works. I think I have a deal set to let me get resources in the future, but for now, raw.materials are the limiting factor." Liezel explains, glancing back at Kay. "Why?"

"The Soulwardens have a new apprentice under their care and as a welcome gift and recognition of her importance, we'd like to offer her something ." She points to Liezel. "A tool made of Hermium and Brontium, if that would be possible."

"Well, certainly. Hermium alone would be useless, but a Brontium amalgam is doable. However. I currently have neither mercury nor copper to work with. Do you have a particular tool on mind? Knife. Cup, wand, coin, mirror?"

"A pen, actually, if that would be doable. I know the tool would function as intended, Maga Rashida already uses one." She explains with a little nod."And how much mercury and copper would you require?"

Liezel checks her phone briefly. "If you buy one of these," she says, showing Kay a copper ballpoint pen, "-I can take out the guts and perfect then alloy the metals, reshape the pen, and put the insides back. Would that work?"

"Okay and how much mercury would you need?" She tilt her head to the side, pulling her own phone out to take a simple note.

"A similar amount. Technically only half as much but it'd just leave us with a half a pen worth of unalloyed copper. Might as well go half and half and have some leftover amalgam to work with."

"Do you know where to buy Mercury?" Kay asks curious, then it hits her. "Wait wait wait, you're the Rabbi's new teacher, right?"

"Yeah, it's easy to buy online. Sometimes easier to search for quicksilver." The recognition seems to stress Liezel briefly, but she nods. "Yes. Fox and I believe he will learn best from me in matters related to the Arrow. Fox worries she will teach him the wrong lessons."

"Good, you'll have Mercury and the Pen soon." She smiles at Juno with a little nod there. "Do you require any payment for it?" Kay asks with a smile, leaning down "And, Adept Juno, I have an official request for you about Apprentice Yisra'el then."

"Not... payment, no. I could use more raw materials, but if you let me keep the excess amalgam, we'd be more than even for the work, I'd say." "An official request? Do tell." Liezel blinks, curious and unjudging.

"As per the official word from earlier." A motion vaguely toward a nearby office of communication. "The Soulwardens have shared their recently earned fruit with the Children of the Tree and vice versa and Yisra'el's presence would be important to our understanding of the mysteries."

"Ah! Absolutely. He should indeed be present. That can be arranged, as I doubt he'll need convincing. Is it too much to be present myself? It's almost entirely beyond my personal education but it would be enlightening regardless, if that's acceptable."

"That would not be my personal call to make, but I can ask on your behalf. I am unsure what kind of response to expect on this one, by the way." Kay explains softly. "I'll let you know as soon as I can."

"Please express that no is a fine answer- I simply do not want to miss out if it would be acceptable." Liezel smiles slightly.

"I'll be perfectly fine with it. I'll get you the material as soon as the shops can open." She grins there. "Thank you for doing that for us."

Humming to herself and in good spirits following the recent Cadre get together with Peacekeeper, Harmony makes her way through the Hall in jeans and t-shirt with a picture of Baby Yoda on the front. "Morning." She offers cheerfully to Kay and Liezel, moving up to offer the former a hug and waving at the latter. "How are you both getting along?"

"Thank you, and you're welcome," Liezel confirms. Then there's a Harmony, and she lifts a hand in her robotic greeting. "Hello, Harmony. How are you, then?"

Kay gives Harmony's shirt a bit of a hearteye stare, but then gives her a hug to welcome her. "I'm arranging some things with Liezel here! For Alexis and the feast!"

"Excellent!" She nods keenly. "Kay filled you in then Liezel? I'm looking forward to it. Though I should offer a hand with security if that sort of thing fits." She ponders, looking to her cadremate. "Would it be a good idea to ask?" Taking a moment she considers her fellow Arrow. "And I'm pretty good, mm." She stands a little straighter, trying to borrow some of Liezel's dignity.

Dignity. Ha! Liezel isn't so much dignified as in a constant state of social anxiety, leaving her rigid and restrained as a side effect. She is a fucking duck, calm on the surface and all panic and chaos underwater. "Hm? Feast? The one - oh, of course! The one announced. Sorry, I should have connected that earlier but they were independent concepts until just now. Is that the security you're talking about?"

Kay smiles and she looks around a little bit. "I think the other Magi is still under Revontulet, so we still need to meet her." she squeezes Harmony's shoulders and smile her way.

"We will." She nods at Kay. "We've gotta talk to Fox about this stuff too, after all." A slight lean to Kay. "That's it, mm." She nods to Liezel. "We'd have three apprentices there, and, ooh, yes." A warm smile. "I heard you were guiding one of them."

"Revontulet is wonderful. I like them. It was their idea that Y'israel move under my tutelage." Keen eyes might catch her faint uncertaintly about that move, but she smiles a little after. "He's interested in being an Arrow, so it makes more sense to have him learning from one."

"Yisra'el yeah." She stretches her arms out and yawn, remaining close to Mary. "I'd love to have a moment to speak with him." she looks at Liezel and nods. "I know how you do as a Student, I'm sure it'll be great with you as a teacher."

"He really is." She smiles softly, nodding in agreement with Liezel. "And that fits, mm. I'd like to meet him myself, I admit." She squeezes Kay's shoulder gently. "Did you nab any rest?" She asks her.

"I've been doing better on the sleep front, my dreams are going to be peaceful for a little bit still." She shrugs "Right now is just mild fatigue from an emotionally charged day." she shrugs and then looks to Liezel again "I'll contact you once I get the pencil and mercury."

"Or the answer to the question."

"Good." She nods at Kay, smiling softly. "And it was, yes. Good overall though, I feel." The Thyrsus cants her head curiously. "Do you have a project on the go?"

"Please do- I'll be around," Liezel confirms before packing her things up and spending a moment to end the effects of the aril and gather up her string, as well. "Until then!"

"I'm planning on using the gift from Peacekeeper." Kay looks at Harmony. "to get Rashida a badass tool." she yawns again "Otherwise, I'm trying to figure out a way to achieve enlightenment in a particular area."

She cants her head, then slings an arm around Kay's shoulder with a smile. "Sounds a good plan, mm. And tell me about that area if you like? But how about we head home? You look like you could use a bit of a nap."

She wraps her arm around her shoulder. "Let's do that" she shrug "Your mushrooms were quite inspiring, I've been pondering how to approach learning a bit of Life, but figuring out how to work it into my methods is proving a little challenging."

"I need to talk Hearth into working them into food." She agrees. "That'll help her warm up to them." A soft smile. "And I am too too happy to help there if you like? What do you have in mind?"
